Sun Jul 23 202318:21Ceddanne Rafaela On Fire In Triple-A
Boston Red Sox top outfield prospect Ceddanne Rafaela went 1-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Saturday's game in Triple-A. Rafaela was promoted to Triple-A in late June and has been hitting well ever since. The 22-year-old prospect had six home runs and 18 doubles in 60 games in Double-A, but he has hit six home runs and six doubles in just 19 games in Triple-A. Despite this eye-popping production, Rafaela must still work on his plate discipline. The young outfielder has a 23.9% strikeout rate and a 5.3% walk rate in Triple-A. If Rafaela continues to strike out at this rate, his promotion to the majors could be delayed. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues probably won't need to pick him up this year, but Rafaela remains a valuable player in dynasty.

Wed Jul 12 202309:56Ceddanne Rafaela Doing Well In Triple-A
Boston Red Sox infield/outfield prospect Ceddanne Rafaela hasn't missed a beat since being promoted from Double-A Portland to Triple-A Worcester on June 28. In that time, he has hit .261 with four homers, seven RBI and one stolen base. Between both levels, Rafaela has hit .289 with 10 homers, 44 RBI and 31 stolen bags. The 22-year-old has always had strong defensive skills in the outfield and around the infield, but his bat finally caught up this past season when he hit a career-high 21 homers with 86 RBI. Rafaela has enough defensive versatility to make an impact at the next level, but the Red Sox are likely to continue developing his bat with the hope to lower his chase rate (66 strikeouts in 71 games) and strengthen his eye at the dish. For the moment, Rafaela has more value in dynasty leagues and would be nothing more than a dart throw in single-year deeper mixed leagues.

Thu Jun 8 202314:23Ceddanne Rafaela Homers To Extend 13-Game Hitting Streak
Boston Red Sox shortstop prospect Ceddanne Rafaela hit a home run to extend his hit streak to 13 games for Double-A Portland. During this hit streak, the 22-year-old is 19-for-54 with four home runs, 12 RBI, 12 runs, and five stolen bases. Despite this hot stretch, he only has a .754 OPS through 47 games this season. While his bat has starred over these past few weeks, Rafaela's elite multi-positional defense and speed (25 steals this season) are considered his best tools. The Curaao native is not in a position to get promoted straight from Double-A, meaning he is only worth focusing on in dynasty leagues.

Sun May 14 202309:33Ceddanne Rafaela Swipes Six Bags
Boston Red Sox shortstop prospect Ceddanne Rafaela had six stolen bases in a game for Double-A Portland. He was 2-for-3 with two walks in the game. The 22-year-old has been great on the basepaths this season, with 16 stolen bases in 20 games. He isn't swinging the bat well to start the season, with a .272 wOBA and a 24.6% walk rate. He plays elite defense at multiple positions, but the Red Sox front office will want better performance at the plate before Rafaela gets the callup. The Curaao native can debut this season, but with depth in the majors, he likely won't make a fantasy impact.

Wed Mar 29 202319:17Ceddanne Rafaela Will Begin Season With Double-A Portland
Boston Red Sox utility prospect Ceddanne Rafaela will open the campaign in Double-A Portland. Ranked as the No. 86 overall prospect per MLB Pipeline, Rafaela struggled this spring. He managed just seven hits and a .454 OPS in 32 at-bats. Still, Rafaela's defensive prowess should have him ascend to the major leagues before long. He spent most of 2022 in center field and has excelled at shortstop, second base, and third base, demonstrating the ability to plug in anywhere. Rafaela is no offensive slouch either, slashing .299/.342/.539 with 21 home runs and 28 stolen bases in 116 minor-league appearances last season.
