Tue May 20 201400:36Chris Heisey doubles three times
Chris Heisey doubled three times and walked in seven plate appearances against the Nationals on Monday.
The Reds have often picked Skip Schumaker over Heisey as Jay Bruce's replacement lately, though they could certainly use Heisey's power in the lineup with their best slugger missing. Still, it's not like Heisey was making much of a case for playing time: he entered the day with a .175 average and no RBI in 40 at-bats this month.

Thu Apr 3 201400:45Heisey hits walkoff RBI single to beat Cards
Chris Heisey delivered a walkoff RBI single in the Reds' 1-0 defeat of the Cardinals on Wednesday.
A three-hour rain delay gave way to an outstanding pitchers' duel between Tony Cingrani and Michael Wacha -- two exciting young National League Central starters. The game was tied 0-0 when Heisey came on as a pinch-hitter with the bases loaded and punched a ball into left field, past the Cardinals' five-infielder setup. Heisey is capable of hitting his way into more playing time but for now he's not really fantasy-relevant.

Fri Mar 21 201422:34Chris Heisey blasts sixth spring homer in win
Chris Heisey blasted his league-leading sixth Cactus League homer on Friday, powering the Reds to a 9-3 win over the Royals.
He finished the afternoon 2-for-3, also tripling and scoring a run. With Ryan Ludwick struggling, Heisey could see considerable playing time in left field early in the season, and could be worth a look in the later rounds of mixed league drafts.

Sat Mar 15 201419:21Heisey blasts spring-best fifth home run
Chris Heisey went 2-for-3 with his spring training-leading fifth home run Saturday.
Heisey is hitting a scorching .412 and raised his RBI total to 11. The outfielder doesn't currently have a starting job - Ryan Ludwick is considered the starting left fielder for the Reds - but Heisey might be forcing the issue with his scalding spring.

Thu Mar 13 201418:44Heisey homers against the Dodgers
Chris Heisey went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run against the Dodgers on Thursday.
Heisey took Paul Maholm deep in the third inning, his fourth of the spring. He has been on absolute fire in the Cactus League. Still, playing time will be hard to come by for Heisey as he is outranked by four other outfielders on the Reds' roster.

Fri Mar 7 201421:31Chris Heisey homers twice to pace Reds in win
Chris Heisey paced the Reds offensive attack with a pair of homers on Friday, powering the Reds to a 10-9 victory over the Mariners.
The veteran outfielder has now knocked three balls over the boards early in Cactus League play where he's hitting .316 (6-for-19). He's a fine reserve outfielder, but won't hold much in the way of fantasy value unless injury strikes in the reds outfield.

Wed Feb 26 201418:28Heisey homers in Cactus League debut
Chris Heisey doubled and hit a two-run homer in three at-bats Wednesday against the Indians.
Hard to ask for a better spring opener. Heisey homered off of C.C. Lee in the seventh, then doubled off of Preston Guilmet in the ninth. Heisey's numbers have been in decline since 2011, but he is hoping a strong spring will result in a spot on the Reds' bench as a back-up outfielder.

Thu Jan 16 201417:59Reds, Heisey avoid arb. with one-year deal
Reds and OF Chris Heisey avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.76 million contract.
Heisey, who was arbitration-eligible for the second time this winter, hit .237/.279/.415 with nine home runs and 23 RBI over 244 plate appearances last season. He'll get a slight raise from the $1.325 million he made in 2013. The 29-year-old will function as a reserve outfielder and right-handed bench bat for Cincinnati in 2014.

Tue Aug 20 201321:58Heisey hits seventh home run against D'backs
Chris Heisey hit his seventh home run, a two-run shot, in the loss to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Heisey now has seven home runs in limited duty this season. After a 2011 season in which he hit 18 home runs in just 279 at-bats it seemed as though he could evolve into an everyday player, but he was a part-time player last year and is batting just .218/.266/.402 this year. The 28-year-old is a non-factor in fantasy.

Chris Heisey went 2-for-3 with a walk, home run, two RBI and two runs scored in a 5-3 triumph against the Pirates on Friday.
Heisey is 4-for-11 (.363) in three games since returning from a sore elbow last Thursday. The 28-year-old has posted a .229/.272/.448 slash line with five homers over 105 at-bats in 2013.

Fri Jul 12 201308:22Chris Heisey returns to lineup
Chris Heisey went 1-for-4 with a single in his return to action Thursday.
Heisey's left elbow is still a little sore from being hit by a pitch Tuesday, but it's not a big deal. He should be fine going forward.

Tue Jul 9 201321:07Chris Heisey's X-rays are negative
X-rays on Chris Heisey's left elbow came back negative.
Heisey had to leave Tuesday's game after being plunked, but it sounds like he just has a bruise. Consider him day-to-day.

Tue Jul 9 201320:52Chris Heisey leaves after being hit by pitch
Chris Heisey left Tuesday's game against the Brewers after being hit by a pitch in the second inning.
The Reds should provide an update on his status later Tuesday. Derrick Robinson took Heisey's place in left field.

Tue Jul 9 201300:00Chris Heisey homers against Brewers
Chris Heisey went 2-for-3 with a homer against the Brewers on Monday.
Heisey has collected hits in five of his six starts since he came off the DL on June 25, and all but one of those hits have gone for extra bases (two homers, four doubles). It looks like he's overtaking Derrick Robinson and Xavier Paul for playing time in left field, so he's a nice option in NL-only leagues, at least until Ryan Ludwick returns.

Thu Jul 4 201300:33Heisey homers, drives in two against Giants
Chris Heisey went 1-for-3 with a home run as the Reds beat the Giants on Wednesday.
Heisey, who recently came off the disabled list on June 25, launched his third homer of the year in the sixth inning after driving in a run on a sacrifice fly earlier in the game. The homer was his first since April 23, and he's still batting only .186 this year.

Tue Jun 25 201318:20Chris Heisey activated from disabled list
Reds activated OF Chris Heisey from the 15-day disabled list.
Heisey is in the lineup in the designated hitter spot on Tuesday in Oakland. The outfielder has been on the shelf since April 27 because of a right hamstring strain. Cincy figures to use him in the DH spot while they can in order to protect the hammy.

Thu Jun 20 201312:41Heisey (hamstring) expected to return Tuesday
Chris Heisey (hamstring) is expected to return from the 15-day disabled list next Tuesday.
Heisey has been on the shelf since April 27 because of a severe hamstring strain. He was originally expected to return in mid-May but aggravated the hamstring during a rehab game. The 28-year-old will presumably take over in left field, where Derrick Robinson and Xavier Paul had been platooning for Cincinnati.

Tue Jun 18 201309:19Heisey (hamstring) resumes rehab stint
Chris Heisey (hamstring) resumed a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Monday and went 2-for-4 with two singles and a run scored.
Heisey served as the designated hitter. The 28-year-old aggravated his hamstring injury during his first attempt at a rehab assignment last month, so the Reds figures to be extra cautious this time around. Still, a return before the end of the month appears realistic if he can avoid setbacks.

Sun Jun 16 201312:23Chris Heisey to begin rehab assignment Monday
Chris Heisey (hamstring) will resume a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Monday.
Heisey aggravated his right hamstring during a rehab assignment last month and still felt some soreness after sliding drills last Wednesday. He's feeling better now, though, and is ready to give it a go again. He should be activated before too long assuming he can avoid another setback.

Fri Jun 7 201316:09Heisey (hamstring) not ready for rehab stint
Chris Heisey (hamstring) will not begin a rehab assignment Friday with Triple-A Louisville as originally planned.
Heisey felt some soreness after sliding drills on Wednesday, so the Reds aren't going to risk putting him back into a game. It's the latest setback for the 28-year-old outfielder, who has been sidelined since April 27.
