CF Travis Jankowski had three hits, including a double, in the Padres' season-ending loss to the Giants on Sunday. The three-hit game was the fourth of his career, with the previous three all coming last August. Jankowski finished the season batting .313 (5-for-16) out of the leadoff spot.

OF Travis Jankowski was 2-for-3 with a stolen base and scored the Padres only run in Friday night's loss. Jankowski hadn't had a hit since April 21. The following day he broke a bone in his right foot. He remained on the disabled list until Aug. 4 when he was optioned to Triple-A El Paso for the remainder of the Pacific Coast League season. He was recalled from Triple-A El Paso on Sept. 19.

"It's going to keep him out at least another six weeks. This is something that takes time to heal. I'm told that bone doesn't get a lot of blood flow and doesn't heal very quickly. The timeline has been pushed back considerably. Ninety percent of his game is the ability to run and make things happen. It's how he survives offensively, how he thrives defensively and what he does on the bases that makes him a dynamic baseball player."
