Sat Jul 9 201119:09Alexei pushes ChiSox past Twins
Alexei Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a home run and a walk-off RBI single in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Twins.
A big day for Ramirez. He put the White Sox out in front early with a solo homer in the first inning and later played hero, driving in A.J. Pierzynski with the winning run. Ramirez is right where we thought he'd be in home runs (nine) and RBI (40), but he has just three stolen bases in five attempts this season. He has stolen 13 or more in each of his previous three seasons in the big leagues.

Thu Mar 24 201120:15Alexei Ramirez hits fourth spring homer
Alexei Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a single and a solo home run in Thursday's 8-7 loss to the Cubs.
It's the shortstop's fourth home run of the spring, and he's batting .304. Ramirez's fantasy prospects are hurt a bit by the fact that he's slated to hit eighth in the Sox lineup this season, but with a .321 career OBP, that's where he belongs. He's still easily a top-10 option at short, though.

Thu Feb 3 201113:14ChiSox finalize extension with Alexei Ramirez
White Sox signed SS Alexei Ramirez to a four-year, $32.5 million contract extension with a $10 million club option for 2016.
Ramirez will still earn $2.75 million in 2011, so the extension will actually begin in 2012. He will earn $5 million in 2012, $7 million in 2013, $9.5 million in 2014, $10 million in 2015 and either $10 million in 2016 or a $1 million buyout. The 29-year-old has a .283/.321/.430 batting line over his first three seasons in the major leagues and has evolved into one of the better fielding shortstops in the game. He's obviously not the bargain he was before, but he should still come pretty close to matching this contract if he stays healthy.
