Wed Apr 2 201418:49Alexei Ramirez reaches four times in win
Alexei Ramirez went 2-for-3 with a two-run double and two walks as the White Sox edged the Twins 7-6 in 11 innings Wednesday.
The game ended on a wild pitch from Samuel Deduno, scoring Leury Garcia. Ramirez is 4-for-6 after two games, so he's already making a case to bat higher in the lineup. He finished last season batting second and third, but he's hit eighth and seventh in Robin Ventura's first two lineups this year.

Mon Mar 17 201419:30Ramirez enjoys a four-hit day vs. Brewers
Alexei Ramirez went 4-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and a run scored against the Brewers on Monday.
Ramirez has had a slow spring, so a four-hit day is nice to see. However, Ramirez has finished with an OPS below .700 in each of the past two seasons. He did steal 50 bases in those seasons, which keeps him fantasy-relevant.

Sat Mar 8 201422:04Alexei Ramirez has two hits against D'Backs
Alexei Ramirez went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI in a losing effort against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
The 32-year-old shortstop is off to a strong start this spring, hitting .353 (6-for-17) while striking out just once. His power numbers have deteriorated in recent seasons, but he's made up for it with a sharp increase in his stolen base totals. After the upper-echelon shortstops are off the board, he makes for a very attractive option in the middle rounds.

Thu Mar 6 201418:26Ramirez finishes 3-for-3 vs. Royals
Alexei Ramirez went 3-for-3 against the Royals on Thursday.
Ramirez finally got his first hits in Cactus League play, all singles. The 32-year-old has been lackluster with the bat, but has been a good source of steals, having stolen 50 of them over the last two seasons.

Alexei Ramirez went 4-for-4 with his fifth homer and his 38th double Monday against the Twins.

Wed Aug 28 201300:37Ramirez scores twice in Sox' comeback win
Alexei Ramirez went 2-for-3 with two runs scored as the White Sox came from behind to beat the Astros 4-3 on Tuesday.
Ramirez had a hand in both of the White Sox' run-scoring innings, as he scored in the fourth inning to tie the game before scoring again in the definitive three-run eighth inning. Ramirez also stole a base, his 26th of the year, and the shortstop is hitting .287 with 57 runs scored.

Alexei Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a double, homer, three RBI and two runs scored as the White Sox beat the Twins 5-2 on Sunday.
Ramirez has hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games, spiking his batting average from .275 to .289. Despite beginning August 1-for-11 in his first three games, Ramirez is batting .338 with three homers and 13 RBI over 77 at-bats this month.

Fri Aug 9 201323:35Alexei Ramirez homers again in nightcap
Alexei Ramirez went 1-for-5 with a solo homer as the White Sox dropped the nightcap of Friday's doubleheader against the Twins.
Ramirez batted third for the first time in his career earlier in the day, and responded by hitting just his second home run of the season. So logically, White Sox manager Robin Ventura left him in that slot for the second game, and Ramirez knocked another one over the boards. If he remains in this slot with the departure of Alex Rios, it could be a serious boon to his fantasy value.

Fri Aug 9 201317:58Alexei Ramirez homers, knocks in four
Batting third for the first time in his career, Alexei Ramirez had a two-run homer and a two-run single in the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the Twins.
Well, now it's obvious Ramirez should have been batting third all along; he'd have 20 homers now instead of two. Ramirez entered the game with just 29 RBI all season. He's been hitting for average and stealing bases, but the lack of power and poor play of the hitters around him has really held him back as a fantasy shortstop. Maybe it will help if he continues to bat third with Alex Rios gone.

Mon Aug 5 201323:46Alexei Ramirez goes 4-for-5 for White Sox
Alexei Ramirez finished with four hits and two RBI against the Yankees on Monday.
Ramirez remains stuck on one homer for the season, but he's been consistently hitting singles and doubles since Opening Day. Unfortunately, because the rest of the lineup has been so weak, all it's gotten him is 45 runs scored and 29 RBI in 110 games.

Alexei Ramirez was diagnosed with right leg cramps.
It's a dose of good news for the White Sox, who could be looking to move Ramirez at this year's July 31 trade deadline. The shortstop is considered day-to-day. He left Thursday's game in the top of the sixth inning and was replaced in the lineup by Brent Morel.

Thu Jul 11 201315:08Alexei Ramirez departs game with leg injury
Alexei Ramirez left Thursday's game against the Tigers with an apparent right hamstring injury.
Ramirez first grabbed at his right leg after a fifth-inning groundout and then had to leave the game following a bloop single in the sixth. It looked like it might have been a hamstring strain, which would likely mean a stint on the disabled list. Brent Morel replaced him.

Sat Jul 6 201322:19Alexei Ramirez has two hits in loss to Rays
Alexei Ramirez was one of the few bright spots in Saturday's shut out loss at the hand of the Rays, going 2-for-3 plus a walk.
Ramirez is now hitting .279/.308/.345 on the season, but his power production has been woefully short with just one homer and 17 RBI. At least his 19 stolen bases have been a nice consolation prize from a fantasy perspective.

Wed Jun 26 201323:14Ramirez steals 18th base as Sox fall to Mets
Alexei Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a stolen base as the White Sox lost to the Mets on Wednesday.
The two hits and successful stolen base, his 18th of the year, were the good. The caught stealing later in the game and his 13th error of the season were the bad. The shortstop is now hitting .280 with still only one home run in 75 games.

Tue Jun 25 201323:20Alexei Ramirez smacks walkoff single vs. Mets
Alexei Ramirez hit a walkoff RBI single Tuesday as the White Sox defeated the Mets by a score of 5-4.
Chicago nearly blew the game in the top of the ninth inning but rallied to save that embarrassment in the bottom half of the frame. Jeff Keppinger singled, Gordon Beckham reached on an error and then Ramirez played the role of hero, driving Keppinger home. Ramirez is batting .277/.305/.342 in 74 games played this season.

Thu Jun 20 201316:57Ramirez has four hits in loss to Twins
Alexei Ramirez went 4-for-5 with a stolen base in Thursday's loss to the Twins.
Ramirez had three singles and a double, and has now hit safely in four straight games and eight out of his last nine. While the 31-year-old shortstop only has one home run through 70 games this season, he has made up for it by stealing 15 bases. That's just five away from last year's total, which was a career-high.

Sun May 26 201304:53Ramirez goes 2-for-4 with a 2B and an RBI
Alexei Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI against the Marlins on Saturday.
Always a free-swinger, Ramirez has only six less walks this year (10) than he did over 593 at-bats last season. That's the good news. The bad is that Ramirez hasn't found his power stroke. Ramirez (one home run) is slugging only .354, the lowest mark of his career.

Mon May 13 201323:44Alexei Ramirez goes 3-for-5 for White Sox
Alexei Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored against the Twins on Monday.
With Jeff Keppinger hitting as poorly as anyone in the majors, Ramirez is getting a little look in the second spot in the White Sox lineup. He's not ideal there, but his fantasy value will get a nice boost for as long as he remains in the spot.

Fri Mar 29 201323:35Alexei Ramirez (shoulder) returns to action
Alexei Ramirez (shoulder) doubled and walked in his return to action Friday.
Ramirez left Wednesday's game after he was hit in the right shoulder with a pitch, but fortunately for the White Sox, he only suffered a bruise. He should be fine for Opening Day.
