Mon Sep 1 201421:52Morse will undergo MRI on left hip Tuesday
Morse will undergo an MRI on his left hip Tuesday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Morse suffered a hip injury during batting practice Monday, which subsequently caused him to be scratched from the lineup. As a result, the Giants will send him for an MRI to obtain more information on the ailment. Consider him day-to-day for now, with Joaquin Arias and Travis Ishikawa representing potential candidates to take his place at first if he has to miss additional time.

Morse was scratched from Monday's game against the Rockies after suffering a hip injury during batting practice, Andrew Baggarly of CSN Bay Area reports.
Something seemed amiss when Morse was immediately removed from the lineup when the Rockies and Giants resumed a suspended game from May 22 earlier in the day, and we now know the reason behind it. He'll be considered day-to-day, and will be replaced at first base by Joaquin Arias.

Morse went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a two-run double in Saturday's win over the Brewers.
Morse delivered a clutch hit in the fourth to put the streaking Giants ahead of the Brewers. While the power hasn't been there this month (one home run in 75 at-bats), he has been showing increased patience (20:8 K:BB) and has driven in the same amount of RBI in August (11) that he did in both June and July combined. Morse can be a frustrating player to own given his streakiness, but the overall product (.281, 16 home runs, 60 RBI) has been solid this season.
Thu Aug 28 201414:11Morse out of lineup Thursday against Rockies
Morse is out of the lineup Thursday against the Rockies, Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Morse is still batting .280 with a respectable .337 on-base percentage for the season, but his power numbers are tailed off precipitously since early June. He's produced just one homer in August, and will simply get the day off Thursday after starting each of the last 14 games.

Morse went 0-for-2 with a RBI in Thursday's regularly scheduled game against the Cubs.
Morse was replaced in the field in the bottom of the seventh inning, which is a common occurrence. While it's not ideal that Morse often loses at-bats late in games, he's been swinging a hot bat as of late, hitting .429/.512/.657 in the last 14 days. The veteran slugger has hit just two homers since July 5, but he's more than capable of going on a power binge at any point.

Morse went 3-for-3 with two runs scored in the Giants' 5-2 win over the Phillies on Sunday.
It seems Morse has found a groove at the plate, as he's 6-for-6 in his last two games. He currently owns a five-game hit streak that has boosted his average to .286 on the season. He has 14 hits in his past nine games.

Morse went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, a run scored, and an RBI in Saturday's win over the Phillies.
After what felt like a month-long cold streak, Morse is beginning to heat up at the plate in the month of August. He is slashing .333/.415/.528 in 36 August at-bats. Morse is a very streaky hitter, so now would be a good time to get back on his bandwagon if he is available in your league.

Morse went 1-for-3 with a run scored and three RBI, as he cranked his 16th homer (410 feet) out of the park on Friday against the Phillies.
It was only Morse's second homer since July 5, which puts almost all of his power production for the Giants before the All-Star break. Morse has stayed fairly consistent otherwise, with his batting average hovering around the .275 mark since the end of June.
Tue Aug 12 201418:12Morse (toe) back in Giants' lineup Tuesday against White Sox
Morse (toe) is back in the Giants' lineup Tuesday against the White Sox, Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Morse was limited to pinch-hit duties Sunday due to an infected ingrown toenail, but evidently he's regained enough mobility to where he can return to the field. Although he has homered against Tuesday's starter Chris Sale, Morse has also fanned four times in six career at-bats against him.

Morse was scratched from Sunday's lineup with an infected ingrown toenail, Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Morse is hobbled as a result of the issue, but he will be available to pinch hit in the series finale against Kansas City. It's not entirely clear when he may be able to return to the field, but look for Gregor Blanco to play left field in the interim, with Adam Duvall and Travis Ishikawa splitting time at first.
Sun Aug 10 201412:42Morse scratched from Sunday's lineup
Morse has been scratched from Sunday's lineup.
A reason has not been provided by the team, but the timing suggests an injury is in play. Gregor Blanco will man left field in his absence with Adam Duvall moving up to the five-hole in the order.
Sat Aug 9 201413:22Morse 2-4 with run scored in Friday's loss to Royals
Morse went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Friday's loss to the Royals.
Morse had been given a couple days off earlier in the week to rest and clear his head; he has gone 5-for-11 with a run scored and three RBI in three games since then. After a strong start to the season, Morse really fell off the table in the month of July (.233/.275/.337). He is known to be a streaky hitter, so his month-long slump comes as no surprise, but his owners are hoping that he is beginning to turn things back around. With Brandon Belt (concussion) landing on the DL again, Morse will continue to see regular playing time at first base for the foreseeable future.
Tue Aug 5 201420:26Morse expected to return to lineup Wednesday
Morse is expected to return to the lineup Wednesday, Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Manager Bruce Bochy clarified prior to Tuesday's game that Morse is fine physically, he just wanted to give the 32-year-old two straight days of rest. Juan C. Perez is making his second straight start Tuesday, but it sounds like Morse's role is relatively safe for the time being.
Tue Aug 5 201416:38Morse remains out of Giants' lineup Tuesday against Brewers
Morse remains out of the Giants' lineup Tuesday against the Brewers, Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Juan C. Perez will draw another start in left field, as Morse sits for a second straight day. There has been no word of an injury to Morse, so it seems manager Bruce Bochy is just more inclined to go with the better defender in Perez at the moment. Morse has chipped in just two homers since June 6, so he's done little to negate his struggles in the field.
Mon Aug 4 201410:48Morse out of lineup Monday against Mets
Morse is out of the lineup Monday against the Mets.
Morse hasn't missed a game since July 3, so he is likely getting a well-deserved day off Monday. Juan Perez will start in left and bat eighth for the Giants.
Fri Jul 18 201422:35Morse has three hits, RBI in win
Michael Morse was 3-for-4 with an RBI single and two runs scored against the Marlins on Friday.
Two of his hits were doubles. He had just two extra-base hits over his previous eight games. Morse has faded in a big way since mid-June, so fantasy owners will have to hope that the All-Star break has rejuvenated him for a big finish.

He should be ready to roll in a day or two. Adam Duvall is taking Morse's spot at first base in what will be his first career start.

Mon Jun 23 201418:24Michael Morse returns to action Monday
Michael Morse is back in the Giants' lineup Monday.

Sun Jun 22 201413:39Michael Morse (back) sitting out Sunday
Michael Morse (back) is not in the Giants' lineup Sunday.
Morse left Saturday's game with back tightness. The club is calling him day-to-day, so for now it doesn't appear a DL stint is under consideration. Tyler Colvin is in left field Sunday.
