Astros recalled LHP Wesley Wright from Triple-A Round Rock. |
Wright has pitched exclusively in relief for the 'Stros the last three seasons, which includes six appearances earlier this year with the big club. But he was sent down to Triple-A to be stretched out to start and holds a 4.18 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 13 starts. The southpaw will start for the team Tuesday and has a chance to stick with Felipe Paulino and Brian Moehler on the DL, but you should keep your expectations low. |
Sat Jul 17 2010 | 19:45 | Wesley Wright to make spot start Tuesday |
Wesley Wright will be called up from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday to make a spot start against the Cubs. |
Felipe Paulino was scheduled to return, but he is still feeling discomfort in his shoulder and might not return for another few weeks. If Wright pitches well he may be allowed to stick around for a while. But we wouldn't count on that happening. He has a 1.47 WHIP in 13 starts at Triple-A. |
