De Aza (knee) isn't in the lineup Tuesday versus the Rangers, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.

Removed from Monday's game after fouling a ball off his left knee, De Aza should be considered day-to-day. In his place, Dayan Viciedo is covering left field and batting fifth in the order.

It was his fourth homer of the year, but his first in 25 days; the previous three all came in the season-opening series against the Twins. De Aza has struggled mightily since those first few days, and if not for Avisail Garcia's injury, he'd probably find himself on the bench most of the time right now. As is, he'll continue to start in left field against most righties.

De Aza is set to share playing time with Dayan Viciedo in left field, but a shot start could give him the edge. The good news is that he should get more playing time than Viciedo even if the White Sox go with a straight platoon.

Dayan Viciedo's longball off of Chris Perez to lead off the ninth tied things up, and De Aza'a two-out blast gave them a brief lead that they coughed up in the bottom of the frame. De Aza has an outside shot at a 20/20 season with his 17 homers and 20 steals.

Alejandro De Aza hit his 16th homer Wednesday in the loss to the Twins.

De Aza's OBP (currently .321) has been a bit of a disappointment, but he has helped make up for it with the extra pop. He has more homers in 578 at-bats this year than he did in 870 career at-bats (13) entering the season. Oddly enough, just four of his 16 homers have come at home.
