Tue Aug 5 201417:51De Aza (knee) isn't in lineup Tuesday versus Rangers
De Aza (knee) isn't in the lineup Tuesday versus the Rangers, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
Removed from Monday's game after fouling a ball off his left knee, De Aza should be considered day-to-day. In his place, Dayan Viciedo is covering left field and batting fifth in the order.
Mon Aug 4 201423:01De Aza exited Monday's game after fouling ball off left knee in ...
De Aza exited Monday's game after fouling a ball off his left knee in the sixth inning, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports.
De Aza was replaced in the game by Moises Sierra. It's not clear how long De Aza will be out, but he was diagnosed with only a bruise, so he should not miss much time if he misses any at all.
Thu Jul 31 201410:33De Aza out of White Sox's lineup Thursday against Tigers
De Aza is out of the White Sox's lineup Thursday against the Tigers, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Dayan Viciedo will move over to left field with a left-hander in Drew Smyly on the mound for Detroit, as Moises Sierra steps in at right. It's hardly a surprise, considering De Aza's 6-for-63 mark against southpaws this season. Avisail Garcia (shoulder) begins a rehab assignment Friday and will likely eat into De Aza's playing time once activated.
Wed May 21 201422:59Alejandro De Aza in 2-for-28 slump
Alejandro De Aza went 0-for-3 on Wednesday and is in a 2-for-28 slump.
De Aza homered twice on Opening Day and three times in opening series against the Twins, but he has just one homer since, that coming back on April 28. He's struggled to hit for average all along, and he's currently at .179 for the season. The White Sox don't have much in the way of outfield alternatives, so they'll keep running him out there against righties for now. He should snap out of it at some point.

Tue Apr 29 201400:00Alejandro De Aza finally hits another homer
Alejandro De Aza hit his fourth homer of the year Monday in the win over the Rays.
It was his fourth homer of the year, but his first in 25 days; the previous three all came in the season-opening series against the Twins. De Aza has struggled mightily since those first few days, and if not for Avisail Garcia's injury, he'd probably find himself on the bench most of the time right now. As is, he'll continue to start in left field against most righties.

Tue Apr 15 201423:53De Aza held hitless again, but White Sox win
Alejandro De Aza went 0-for-3 with a walk as the White Sox defeated the Red Sox on Tuesday.
De Aza walked and was caught stealing leading off the bottom of the ninth inning, but the White Sox walked off winners anyway. After a white-hot spring, De Aza has been cold to start the season, hitting just .167 with the conclusion of Tuesday's action. The caught stealing was only his first attempted steal of the season, after swiping 20 bags last year.

Thu Apr 3 201418:10Aledjandro De Aza hits third home run
Alejandro De Aza popped his third homer in three games Thursday against the Twins.
The White Sox thought they were picking De Aza's on-base percentage and defense over Dayan Viciedo's power in left field to start the season. Imagine their surprise that De Aza has three homers already. He'll start against right-handers for the foreseeable future.

Mon Mar 31 201419:39De Aza homers twice in win over Twins
Alejandro De Aza clubbed a pair of home runs in a 5-3 win over the Twins on Opening Day.
De Aza smacked a two-run shot in the second inning and later added a solo homer in the sixth. This was the first multi-homer game of his career. De Aza is set to share playing time with Dayan Viciedo in left field, but a shot start could give him the edge. The good news is that he should get more playing time than Viciedo even if the White Sox go with a straight platoon.

Thu Mar 27 201417:38De Aza doubles, homers against the Cubs
Alejandro De Aza doubled and homered in his only two at-bats as the White Sox fell to the Cubs 4-3 on Thursday.
De Aza went back-to-back with Adam Dunn in the ninth inning against Wesley Wright, a last-ditch effort to bring the White Sox back into the game. The blast was De Aza's second of the spring and he is now hitting .383. He has certainly played his way into consideration for more playing time, and may take some away from Dayan Viciedo in left field.

Mon Mar 24 201400:05De Aza has two hits as ChiSox tie Rockies
Alejandro De Aza had another nice day at the plate on Sunday, going 2-for-4 with a run scored as the White Sox and Rockies played to a 5-5 draw.
De Aza continues to battle Dayan Viciedo for the team's starting job in left field, and has stated his case strongly by slashing .410/.425/.564 in Cactus League play. If he does receive everyday at-bats, his combination of power and speed give him plenty of mixed league value.

Sat Mar 22 201420:25De Aza hits first spring homer versus Giants
Alejandro De Aza went 2-for-3 with his first home run of the spring against the Giants on Saturday.
De Aza's two-hit day raised his spring average to .400. The 29-year-old is in a fight for his life with Dayan Viciedo for a starting spot in the White Sox outfield. If the team opts to go in another direction, De Aza will likely draw interest on the trade market.

Mon Mar 10 201418:27De Aza 2-for-3 against the Brewers
Alejandro De Aza went 2-for-3 against the Brewers on Monday.
Both hits were singles. Recent reports have indicated that the Twins are interested in De Aza, who is currently hitting .412 in the Cactus League. As the season progresses, De Aza should draw interest elsewhere as well, and could be a useful trade chip for the White Sox leading up to the July 31 trade deadline.

John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Giants have "checked in" on Alejandro De Aza.
The White Sox are expected to trade De Aza with Adam Eaton now in the fold. He's projected by MLBTradeRumors.com to make $4.4 million in his second year of arbitration this winter, which isn't too much. He would be used in left field, pushing Gregor Blanco to a backup role.

Tue Dec 10 201318:57White Sox fielding inquiries on OF De Aza
CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the White Sox will be fielding trade inquiries on Alejandro De Aza following the acquisition of Adam Eaton.
Eaton will take over in center field, leaving De Aza without a position. De Aza is projected by MLBTradeRumors.com to make $4.4 million in his second year of arbitration this winter. It's not a bad price to pay for a guy that's batted .278/.343/.421 with 30 homers and 58 steals over his last two and a half seasons.

Tue Sep 24 201322:59Alejandro De Aza hits go-ahead homer for Sox
Alejandro De Aza singled and belted a go-ahead homer in the ninth inning of Tuesday's loss to the Indians.
Dayan Viciedo's longball off of Chris Perez to lead off the ninth tied things up, and De Aza'a two-out blast gave them a brief lead that they coughed up in the bottom of the frame. De Aza has an outside shot at a 20/20 season with his 17 homers and 20 steals.

Wed Sep 18 201317:14Alejandro De Aza hits 16th homer
Alejandro De Aza hit his 16th homer Wednesday in the loss to the Twins.
De Aza's OBP (currently .321) has been a bit of a disappointment, but he has helped make up for it with the extra pop. He has more homers in 578 at-bats this year than he did in 870 career at-bats (13) entering the season. Oddly enough, just four of his 16 homers have come at home.

Sat Sep 7 201309:48Alejandro De Aza not in Saturday's lineup
Alejandro De Aza is not in the White Sox starting lineup for Saturday's contest against the Orioles.
It's just a routine day of rest for De Aza against O's left-hander Wei-Yin Chen. De Aza has been a valuable source of power and speed in fantasy leagues this season, hitting .267/.324/.412 with 15 homers, 56 RBI and 19 stolen bases. Leury Garcia will get the start in center field in his place.
