Munenro Kawasaki went 0-for-2 before being removed for a pinch-hitter Monday against the Rays.
The Jays may keep Kawasaki initially after Jose Reyes returns Thursday, but he'll lose most of playing time and he figures to be bumped from the roster once Brett Lawrie comes back. What tiny amount of fantasy value he had is about to disappear.

Fri Jun 14 201303:18Kawasaki goes 0-for-1 with a walk in victory
Munenori Kawasaki went 0-for-1 with a walk in Thursday's win against the Rangers.
Known for his personality and defensive prowess, and not his bat, Kawasaki holds no fantasy value outside of the deepest AL-only leagues. He's batting .214 with no homers and seven steals in 50 games.

Munenori Kawasaki had three hits, including the game-winning two-run double, in Sunday's win over the Orioles.
The light-hitting infielder came into the game batting only .228, but he upped his mark to a more respectable .247 after today's showing. Kawasaki's two-out game-winning double finished off a four-run ninth inning against Orioles closer Jim Johnson.

Sat May 4 201317:04Kawasaki plates lone run in loss to Mariners
Munenori Kawasaki's seventh-inning sacrifice fly plated the Blue Jays' lone run in Saturday's loss to the Mariners.
Kawasaki has been playing on a near-daily basis since Jose Reyes was placed on the DL and has struggled to hold his own, hitting .216/.306/.275 with no homers, four RBI and three stolen bases. His potential for steals makes him a somewhat appealing option as a middle infielder in deeper fantasy leagues, but owners can expect to be disappointed with the other aspects of his game.

Sat Apr 13 201309:02Blue Jays expected to call up Kawasaki
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports the Blue Jays will call up infielder Munenori Kawasaki to take the place of Jose Reyes (ankle) on the active roster.
The Blue Jays are expected to use a combination of Maicer Izturis and Emilio Bonifacio to replace Reyes, so Kawasaki will serve as depth in the short-term. Rosenthal also expects the Jays to have interest in trading for Josh Wilson or the recently DFA'd Cody Ransom.

Sat Feb 16 201323:21Jays showing interest in Munenori Kawasaki
According to Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun, the Blue Jays are showing interest in free agent infielder Munenori Kawasaki.
The 31-year-old posted an abysmal .192/.257/.202 line over 61 games with the Mariners in his first taste of MLB action in 2012. If there is mutual interest, Kawasaki could compete for a reserve infielder role with the Jays.

Mon Aug 6 201222:38Kawasaki leads Mariners offense in loss
Munenori Kawasaki went 2-for-3 with an RBI in Monday's loss to the Orioles.
Kawasaki surprisingly accounted for the majority of the Mariners' offense against Chris Tillman. Its possible he could play himself into more playing time, but he'll more likely resume a reserve when Brendan Ryan is healthy enough to return to the lineup.

Tue Jun 5 201202:11Munenori Kawasaki knocks in three runs
Munenori Kawasaki went 2-for-3 with a three-run double Monday in the Mariners' 8-6 win over the Angels.
The double more than doubled Kawasaki's RBI total as a major leaguer; he entered the day with a .158 average and two RBI in 38 at-bats. The Mariners could consider increasing his playing time with Brendan Ryan struggling so mightily at the plate, but it's not at all likely Kawasaki would outhit Ryan in the long run.

Mon Apr 23 201209:30Kawasaki struggling in MLB
Munenori Kawasaki is batting just .133/.235/.133 through his first 17 MLB plate appearances.
Kawasaki was signed to a minor league contract this winter and was able to crack the Mariners' Opening Day roster. But it's probably not meant to last. The 30-year-old had a weak .636 OPS last season in Japan and the M's have ample glove-first types.

Wed Mar 21 201205:41Kawasaki collects three more hits
Munenori Kawasaki smacked three hits in five at-bats on Tuesday against the Reds.
He added a run and an RBI, giving him five and nine, respectively. Lacking power, he has nonetheless earned the right to become part of the Opening Day roster conversation, as he is now batting .367 through 11 games.

Mon Mar 12 201206:37Kawasaki enjoying seven-game hitting streak
Munenori Kawasaki has looked sharp at the plate so far, batting .429 with eight RBI in 19 spring at-bats.
The 30-year-old has hit safely in seven straight games. However, his upside is severely limited, so take his quick start with a grain of salt at this stage.

Wed Jan 4 201222:18M's sign SS Kawasaki to minors deal
Mariners signed SS Munenori Kawasaki to a minor league contract.
Kawasaki carries a strong defensive reputation, but he batted just .267 with a .636 OPS last season for the Softbank Hawks of Nippon Professional Baseball. He's a longshot to make the Mariners' Opening Day roster and probably won't ever be a regular here in the states.
