Dallas Beeler took his second loss in as many starts after allowing four runs in five innings to the Reds on Wednesday.
Beeler rejoined the Cubs' rotation in the wake of the Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel departures. Beeler will be making his major league debut. Through 10 starts at Triple-A Iowa, he owns a 4.03 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 43/15 K/BB ratio over 60 1/3 innings. It could be an audition for him if he pitches well, as the Cubs may be looking for rotation options if they're successful in dealing away Jason Hammel or Jeff Samardzija.
