Fri Feb 21 2014 | 14:45 | Charlotte engaged in Ben Gordon buyout |
The Bobcats are engaged in contract buyout discussions with Ben Gordon. |
He's only played in one game since Jan. 11 and the writing has been on the wall for this one after the Bobcats couldn't trade him away for peanuts. Gordon is a career 40.2 percent shooter from deep, but his game has fallen off in the past two seasons. He could find another team, but there's no reason to add him in fantasy leagues until he lands in the perfect spot. |

Tue Jan 28 2014 | 19:12 | Ben Gordon did not make trip to Denver |
Ben Gordon did not make the trip to Denver and will not play against the Nuggets on Wednesday. |
He's played just 10 minutes all year and there's no reason to think he's going to get minutes any time soon. Gordon has lost a step and is shooting just 35.4 percent on the season. There's nothing to see here. |

Mon Jan 27 2014 | 13:02 | Ben Gordon sits out practice w/ illness |
Ben Gordon sat out Monday's practice due to an illness. |
Gordon's status for Wednesday's road game in Denver is uncertain, but it's also irrelevant for fantasy purposes since he's averaging a mere 5.4 points on 35.7 percent shooting this season. Coach Steve Clifford said the illness is going around the team and Bobcats' owners should stay alert for any more updates. |

Tue Oct 22 2013 | 13:07 | Ben Gordon (knee) does individual workouts |
Ben Gordon (knee) went through an individual workout on Tuesday. |
He recently had a procedure to alleviate soreness in his knee, which is a red flag, but he's still expected to be in uniform for Charlotte's opener. He drained 1.5 threes off the bench last season and should surface with specialist appeal in deep leagues. |

Thu Oct 17 2013 | 13:58 | Ben Gordon gets hot off Bobcats bench |
Ben Gordon hit 7-of-9 shots and all four 3-point attempts for a game-high 22 points to go along with two rebounds, three assists and a steal. |
Gordon is still capable of getting hot at a moment's notice and having outbursts like this, but is far too unreliable to be used consistently in fantasy. |

Fri Jun 28 2013 | 15:48 | Ben Gordon opts in, as expected |
Ben Gordon picked up his $13.2M player option for the 2013-14 season, as expected. |
Gordon will enter the season as one of the league's most overpaid players. At least now he will have an expiring contract, so the Bobcats can use him as a trade chip. Last year, Gordon played just 20.8 minutes per game and averaged 11.2 points on 40.8 percent shooting. |

Thu Apr 18 2013 | 12:18 | Ben Gordon not planning to opt out of deal |
Ben Gordon, who has a player option for $13.2 million on his contract next season, said that he anticipates returning to the Bobcats. |
Why wouldn't he? Gordon won't sniff more than $10M annually as a free agent, and there is zero incentive for him to give up that kind of guaranteed cash despite the reported clashes he's had with head coach Mike Dunlap this season. There is also a possibility his expiring contract is dealt before the season begins. It's good work if you can get it. |

Wed Apr 10 2013 | 00:02 | Ben Gordon disappears in loss to Grizzlies |
Ben Gordon, who blew up for 27 points and six treys in his previous game, played just 16 minutes and missed all four of his shots to finish with three points in Tuesday's loss. |
His 27-point explosion came out of nowhere, so it was not all that surprising to see him disappear tonight. The Cats should really be running their young guys as much as possible from here on out, and while it's possible he could have another explosion, it appears to be unlikely. |

Sat Apr 6 2013 | 23:16 | Ben Gordon drops 27 pts on unsuspecting Nets |
Out of nowhere, Ben Gordon scored 27 points with six 3-pointers, two rebounds and two assists vs. the Nets on Saturday, playing 28 minutes off the bench. |
Gordon was scoreless in his last game and he hasn't cracked 20 points since early January, and the Nets give up the sixth-fewest 3-pointers of any team in the NBA, so all you can call this is a 'fluke'. Pick him up at your own peril. |

Sun Mar 24 2013 | 20:43 | Ben Gordon shoots 0-of-7 in loss to Miami |
Ben Gordon missed all seven of his shots in 16 minutes vs. the Heat, going scoreless with zero assists. |
Ramon Sessions is still out with a sprained knee, but tonight's line underscores the risk of deploying Gordon in fantasy leagues. Don't bother with him unless his averages in March appeal to you -- 11.0 points on 38.2 percent shooting, 1.7 threes, 1.5 assists, 0.4 steals and 1.8 turnovers per game. |

Fri Mar 15 2013 | 22:02 | Gordon scores 10 points on 4-of-16 FGs |
Ben Gordon hit just 4-of-16 shots on Friday, scoring 10 points with two rebounds, two assists and two threes in 26 minutes off the bench. |
Gordon is getting looks right now but he's still not converting, coming off a bad 5-of-13 shooting night on Tuesday, as well. Owners looking at his short-term value while Ramon Sessions is out should keep his game log open on their computer the next time he gets hot and hits a bunch of threes. |

Tue Mar 12 2013 | 22:48 | Ben Gordon stays hot in win over Boston |
Ben Gordon hit 5-of-13 shots and three 3-pointers for 17 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals in Tuesday's shockingly easy win over the Celtics. |
Gordon is hot and should continue to roll with Ramon Sessions' season in jeopardy. This was his fifth straight game of at least 13 points and he's hit a 3-pointer in seven straight games, making him worth a look in most leagues now that he's no longer in Mike Dunlap's doghouse. |

Fri Mar 8 2013 | 21:33 | Ben Gordon takes 18 shots vs. OKC Friday |
Ben Gordon shot 7-of-18 from the field for 19 points with four boards, three assists and three 3-pointers in 28 minutes. |
The 18 shots are enough to garner our attention and he's in line for some consistent playing time with Ramon Sessions out for a month. Gordon is worth a look for any owner that needs threes. |

Wed Mar 6 2013 | 22:09 | Ben Gordon scores 16 in another loss |
Ben Gordon scored 16 points with two 3-pointers on 6-of-15 shooting in 26 minutes of Tuesday's blowout loss to the Nets. |
Gordon hadn't played more than 17 minutes in any of his previous 10 games and while it's interesting that Mike Dunlap chose to use him tonight, don't get used to him seeing this kind of run. The Bobcats are getting crushed on a nightly basis and it's time to turn the young guys loose, meaning tonight's game looks like a fluke for Gordon. |

Sat Feb 23 2013 | 22:04 | Ben Gordon scoreless in return to rotation |
Ben Gordon returned to the Bobcats' rotation in Sunday's defeat, finishing scoreless in 12 minutes off the bench. |
Gordon has been clashing with Mike Dunlap, and as a result he received a DNP-CD on Friday. BG is easily the Cats' highest-paid player ($12.4 million) and there is zero doubt that he'll opt-in for $13.2 million next season. He can no longer agitate for an immediate trade, and sulking won't improve his trade value over the summer, so ideally he'll mute his frustrations and play well in a 15-20 minute role for the next two months. |

Sat Feb 23 2013 | 10:43 | Ben Gordon sits out first game after deadline |
Ben Gordon received a DNP-CD in the Bobcats' first game following the trade deadline. |
Gordon was never suspended after a reported run-in at practice with coach Mike Dunlap because the Bobcats reportedly wanted to preserve his trade value. Since they were unable to move Gordon before Thursday's deadline, it appears the Bobcats chose Friday to send a message to the disgruntled guard. |

Wed Feb 20 2013 | 23:58 | Brooklyn Nets not going after Ben Gordon |
The Nets are no longer considering a deal for Charlotte's Ben Gordon in exchange for Kris Humphries. |
This report comes from multiple sources and some of the reports are of the emphatic fashion. The Nets are clearly trying to make a move tomorrow, but it won't be for Ben Gordon. |

Fri Feb 15 2013 | 10:58 | Report: Gordon, Dunlap had other run-ins |
According to the Charlotte Observer, Ben Gordon and coach Mike Dunlap have had issues prior to Monday's reported showdown during a shootaround. |
According to the Observer, when pulled from a game in January by Dunlap, Gordon lingered on the court and was visibly frustrated. Gordon also met twice with Dunlap regarding the guard's limited role on the Bobcats. Despite an obvious desire to move the disgruntled Gordon, we can't imagine this will help his trade value. |

Thu Feb 14 2013 | 12:32 | Report: Ben Gordon, Mike Dunlap have exchange |
Ben Gordon reportedly told Mike Dunlap that he needed to "humble himself," and the Bobcats are now expediting their efforts to trade Gordon before the deadline, sources told Yahoo! Sports. |
Wow. Last season it was Tyrus Thomas who got into a spat with Paul Silas, and now Gordon isn't getting along with Dunlap. The team did not suspend Gordon because they didn't want to weaken his perceived trade value, but it's pretty weak as it is. The Nets, a team with rumored interest in Gordon, are reportedly "still mulling" an offer of Kris Humphries for Gordon, but don't appear inclined to make a move. |
