Mon Aug 20 201209:41Hakim Warrick may see time at small forward
Hakim Warrick may see some playing time at small forward this season.
With just Al-Farouq Aminu and rookie Darius Miller as the current SF's on the roster, Warrick may see some time at SF given the depth along the frontline. We suspect Ryan Anderson could also see some time at SF as well if the Hornets want to use big lineups that feature Anthony Davis and one of Robin Lopez or Jason Smith at center. Regardless, we don't see Warrick accruing any sort of sustainable fantasy value.

Fri Jul 27 201212:56Hornets acquire Warrick in three-team trade
The Hornets traded for Hakim Warrick as part of a three-team deal on Friday.
Warrick should back up the power forward spot behind both Anthony Davis and Ryan Anderson. He's a nice third big man to have at the position, but he's not going to come into any sort of fantasy value with the No. 1 pick and the team's free-agent splash ahead of him in the pecking order.

Mon Apr 23 201214:45Hakim Warrick in play for spot-start
Coach Alvin Gentry said he isn't sure who will start at power forward if Channing Frye (shoulder, personal) can't play Tuesday.
Hakim Warrick started the second half on Saturday, but Markieff Morris has five starts under his belt from earlier this season. Expect some kind of timeshare if Frye sits.

Tue Mar 13 201209:12Hakim Warrick okay with reduced role
Hakim Warrick is content with his role on the team.
Warrick has only played sporadically and is currently behind both Channing Frye and Markieff Morris on the depth chart. With Alvin Gentry stating that he's going to use Morris as his first power forward off the bench, Warrick is not even close to being on the fantasy radar.

Sun Mar 11 201221:49Hakim Warrick OK with skeletal alter ego
The Suns are 6-1 at home since they erected "Bones Warrick" in their locker room, a skeleton wearing Hakim Warrick's jersey, headband, arm-sleeve and shoes.
Warrick, who is averaging 7.0 points in 15 minutes per game this year, said that "the worse I eat, the more I can't gain weight. I can eat anything -- Wendy's or whatever. It just doesn't stick to me." At first he wasn't thrilled about his skeletal alter ego, understandably, but now that the Suns are winning he says "we've got to leave it all season."

Sat Dec 31 201102:29Warrick scores 18 points with seven boards
Hakim Warrick scored 18 points with seven rebounds off the bench on Friday, hitting 6-of-12 shots from the field with one assist and one block in 25 minutes.
We've seen this act out of Warrick and it never ends well. It also marked a low point for rookie Markieff Morris who played just one minute tonight. With the Suns looking for offense and struggling it makes sense that they give Warrick a try, but we need to see more before raising an eyebrow.

Tue Dec 20 201115:36Warrick getting squeezed out of rotation
Hakim Warrick is losing opportunities at PF for the Suns with the arrival of Markieff Morris.
Channing Frye and Morris are going to get their share of minutes at the 4, leaving Warrick picking at the scraps. The Suns have toyed with using Warrick at SF to get him more run, but with Grant Hill's return, that spots not going to offer many more minutes than PF. Either way, there's no reason to draft Warrick this year.

Mon Dec 19 201110:24Hakim Warrick out w/ flu for Suns
Hakim Warrick sat out of practices on Saturday and Sunday due to the flu.
He'll be fine for opening night, but Warrick's production is too shaky to bother drafting him in average fantasy leagues (he averaged under 18 minutes per game last season).

Sat Apr 2 201100:51Hakim Warrick double-doubles in easy win
Hakim Warrick came off the bench for 17 points and 10 rebounds in Friday's easy win over the Clippers.
Warrick had scored a total of eight points in his previous three games and will only have value if he replaces Channing Frye in the starting five.

Wed Mar 23 201102:25Warrick scores two points in triple overtime
Hakim Warrick scored two points with one assist in five minutes off the bench on Tuesday.
After giving everybody false hope with a 32-point outing, he quickly showed his true colors and he has no business being owned in any league -- deep or not.

Sun Mar 20 201121:00Warrick scores 12 in reserve role for Suns
With the return of Channing Frye, Hakim Warrick has returned to a reserve role but managed to stay effective on Sunday scoring 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the floor and 4-of-4 from the line.
Don't expect Warrick to have the same opportunity he had while Frye was gone but it's feasible that he could continue to be of service if you're in a deep league looking for a reserve big man.

Thu Mar 17 201100:19Warrick off, Dudley on for Suns
Hakim Warrick failed to score on Wednesday, missing all four of his shots and grabbing just four rebounds, while Jared Dudley went off for 25 points, eight boards and five 3-pointers on 8-of-14 shooting.
It's official - drop Warrick, especially with Channing Frye due back in the near future, and give Dudley a close look. Warrick has been struggling and will be rendered useless with Frye back, while Dudley has been playing pretty well. Tonight was probably a bit of a fluke, but dropping Warrick for Frye makes a ton of sense.

Tue Mar 15 201101:11Warrick quiet again in Suns loss
Hakim Warrick had just six points and eight rebounds on 2-of-5 shooting in 25 minutes on Friday.
Warrick got off to his starting job with a bang, but has struggled ever since. He's going to continue to start and still has some nice games left in him for as long as Channing Frye is out, but he's not a must-start fantasy player.

Fri Mar 11 201101:33Warrick comes back to earth
A game after becoming a super-hot waiver-wire grab, Hakim Warrick followed with a much more realistic line of 12 points and five rebounds.
He is still worth holding onto for the few weeks Channing Frye is out, but should only be used if you can't find a more reliable option.

Wed Mar 9 201100:09Warrick posts career-high 32 pts, 8 rebounds
Hakim Warrick started for injured Channing Frye (shoulder) and scored a career-high 32 points on 14-of-19 shooting with eight rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 40 minutes on Tuesday.
Whether or not Frye will return in 2-3 weeks and ruin Warrick's value is irrelevant after a line like this. Warrick won't be this good every night, but he needs to be owned in all leagues for the chance that he can be somewhat close. If you're in a shallow league with a roster full of players with guaranteed roles throughout the fantasy playoffs, the decision may not be so clear cut, but otherwise pick him up.

Tue Mar 8 201121:52WW Alert: Warrick has 14 pts, six rebs in Q1
Hakim Warrick, who has taken the starting PF job over for injured Channing Frye (shoulder) for the next couple of weeks at a minimum, has scored 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting with six rebounds in the first quarter alone.
If he finished with this line we would say he is worth a look with Frye out the next few weeks, but that he wouldn't be a must-add player. With this hot start it won't take much more for him to be picked up by competing owners, so if you want him you may have to act fast. His current production is a good baseline expectation of future results for owners to go by, with any additional value being icing on the cake.

Tue Mar 8 201111:15Hakim Warrick set to start in place of Frye?
Coach Alvin Gentry hinted that Hakim Warrick will start in place of Channing Frye (shoulder).
Gentry was still mulling his options, but Warrick's size makes him the best option to start. How much he plays, however, is another story. In one start earlier this year, Warrick had eight points and nine rebounds in 27 minutes. With the Suns still playing plenty of small ball, owners should not be expecting huge minutes. Consider Warrick a low-end fantasy pickup.

Mon Feb 28 201123:24Warrick has nice night off the bench vs. Nets
Hakim Warrick scored 16 points off the bench in Monday's overtime win, hitting 7-of-12 shots from the field to go with seven rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 24 minutes.
He has eight games of eight points or less during February and tonight's effort was the first to top six boards during that span. Needless to say, he needs to do this a few more times before we're lifting an eyebrow.
Sat Feb 12 201104:10Hakim Warrick scores 16 points vs. Jazz
Hakim Warrick scored 16 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 6-of-8 shots from the field to go with six rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 22 minutes.
This is his first game with double-digit anything in 2011, so we're going to make him do it a few more times before we give it a second thought.
Sat Jan 1 201100:15Warrick, Childress out of rotation for Suns
Hakim Warrick and Josh Childress didn't get off the bench on Friday.
They're out of the rotation for now, but we could see Warrick working his way back in at some point. If you're holding either player, it's probably time to let go.
