Sat Dec 18 201001:50Hakim Warrick double-doubles in loss
Hakim Warrick hit 6-of-9 shots for 15 points and 14 rebounds off the bench in Friday's loss.
This was his first double-double since October and just his second of the year. He's always worth a look in fantasy, but isn't quite consistent enough to used in most leagues.
Sat Dec 11 201003:03Warrick scores 14 points with six boards
Hakim Warrick scored 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting with six rebounds, no assists, and no steals or blocks in 28 minutes off the bench on Friday.
As long as Earl Barron is starting, both him and Hedo Turkoglu will be inconsistent coming off the bench while fighting for the same minutes. Barron (no points, two boards) had a horrible night and will have a hard time keeping the job at that rate.
Wed Dec 8 201002:07Warrick scores just five points in 10 mins
Hakim Warrick played just 11 minutes on Tuesday, scoring five points on 1-for-4 shooting with two rebounds and no other statistics other than a turnover.
This proves his 26-point outing on Sunday was a fluke for the time-being, since he has averaged just under five points and three boards in the four prior games not counting Sunday. In other words, stay away until Alvin Gentry settles on a rotation.
Sun Dec 5 201023:37Hakim Warrick scores 26 points off bench
Hakim Warrick came to life with 26 points off the bench on Sunday, making 10-of-13 FGs and 6-of-10 FTs, with six rebounds and two assists.
Warrick logged 29 minutes and looked great, but there was no way to predict this outburst -- he was averaging 4.3 points in the last three games. Pick him up at your own risk.
Fri Dec 3 201012:31Hakim Warrick plummets down Suns' depth chart
One game after his first start of the season, Hakim Warrick plummeted down the Suns' depth chart and wound up playing just nine minutes off the bench.
Warrick's lack of rebounding and his better fit with the bench appear to be the culprits, but this was an unexpected (and unwelcome, if you started him) about-face. He has never been a versatile player, and with his role dwindling it's safe to cut him for a better FA.

Sun Nov 28 201022:48Hakim Warrick quiet in first start for Suns
Hakim Warrick made his first start of the season at PF on Sunday, but made just 3-of-12 shots to finish with eight points, nine rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Warrick logged 27 minutes, though that should increase on nights when his shot is falling. He won't block shots or get assists, but he's worth a look if you're in need of points and some rebounds.
Sun Nov 28 201013:43Warrick supplants Turkoglu in starting lineup
Suns beat writer Paul Coro reports that Hakim Warrick will start in place of Hedo Turkoglu for Sunday's game against the Nuggets.
To Coro's credit, he predicted this development in a recent column. It's clear that Warrick is a much better fit for head coach Alvin Gentry's offense, the central component of which is the pick-and-roll with Steve Nash as maestro. In his last two games, Warrick has played 73 minutes and has averaged 24 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest. Being named a starter doesn't mean he'll maintain that production level, but this news makes Warrick a "must-own" nonetheless.

Sun Nov 28 201004:50Coro: PHO could start Warrick at PF
Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic believes that the Suns could choose to start Hakim Warrick at PF in this Sunday's game against the Nuggets.
Coro usually has a beat on all things Suns, and makes the case but doesn't provide a definitive statement from Alvin Gentry or the team on the matter. The move makes sense though, since the team is loaded with shooters in the first unit with Hedo Turkoglu starting. Stay tuned.

Thu Nov 25 201001:23Warrick, Turkoglu both play well in loss
Hakim Warrick had 23 points and seven rebounds, while Hedo Turkoglu added 10 points, 10 rebounds, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer in Wednesday's loss to the Bulls.
Turkoglu has been frustrating to own this year and hit 4-of-10 shots, while Warrick is scoring, but doesn't get enough rebounds. This was just the second time he's had more than five boards in his last 13 games.
Wed Nov 17 201022:58Warrick cools off against hot Heat
Hakim Warrick had just five points and two rebounds in 20 minutes on Wednesday.
We'll blame this one on the defense of the Heat, who dominated the game from start to finish. This was just his fourth game of the season scoring less than 10 points.
Tue Nov 16 201002:19Warrick scores season-high 21 points
Hakim Warrick scored a season-high 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting with three rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes off the bench on Monday.
He appears to be on the cusp of fantasy value on first glance, by both scoring the ball and threatening for a spot in the starting lineup. He doesn't do much but score, however, as evidenced by tonight's line.
Sat Nov 13 201001:19Warrick scoring, but not much else lately
Hakim Warrick, who has been a popular pick up in fantasy leagues, had 19 points, four rebounds and zero blocks on Friday.
He's scoring effectively, but has had five or less rebounds in five of his last six games. Add in the fact he has just one blocked shot on the season, and there's not a lot to love about his game right now, other than the 13 ppg.
Tue Nov 9 201001:22Warrick scores 16 points with five boards
Hakim Warrick scored 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting (6-of-10 from the foul line) with five rebounds and one assist in 34 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Hedo Turkoglu looks like he's headed for a bench role, which will give Warrick more consistent minutes. He's not a must-add for the fact that he doesn't do much besides score and rebound, but we'd rather have him than Hedo for whatever that's worth.
Thu Nov 4 201012:14Warrick to get starting gig soon?
Beat writer Paul Coro suggests that starting Hakim Warrick over Hedo Turkoglu is "being considered."
Coro was just responding to a tweet, so he's not really reporting here. But the Suns would be crazy not to consider this move. Warrick fits better with Steve Nash as a pure pick-and-roll power forward. Turkoglu is averaging 8.5 points and 3.0 rebounds while Warrick is at 12.2 points and 5.5 rebounds. Turkoglu owners should be adding Warrick to protect themselves.

Sat Oct 30 201002:10Warrick disappears in Friday's loss
Hakim Warrick, who had 18 points and 11 boards on Thursday, had just two points and four boards in 18 minutes on Friday.
Hedo Turkoglu played better tonight and Warrick just couldn't get it going. If you jumped on Warrick after last night's big game, he's a drop candidate if there's someone else you want to grab. Just know that he could still end up stealing Turkoglu's job at some point this season.
Fri Oct 29 201001:39Warrick goes for 18 and 11 vs. Jazz
Hakim Warrick did his best Amare Stoudemire impersonation on Thursday, scoring 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting with 11 rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 26 minutes off the bench.
With all the talk surrounding him taking over Hedo Turkoglu's PF position, this could be the effort that pushes him into the starting lineup. Make sure he's not available on your league's waiver wire, as he looks like a natural fit for Steve Nash's pick-and-roll.
Sun Oct 17 201016:19Warrick posts solid line in reserve role
In 20 minutes off the bench, Hakim Warrick scored 14 points with five rebounds, going 5-of-10 from the field and 4-of-6 from the line.
It remains to be seen how head coach Alvin Gentry's experiment with Hedo Turkoglu at power forward will play out, but if it fails, Warrick would inherit a greater role at that position and become roster-worthy in most formats.
Tue Oct 12 201012:00Warrick backing up Turk
Hakim Warrick is expected to back up Hedo Turkoglu at power forward this season.
We're pretty skeptical that Turkoglu will be able to flourish at power forward, so Warrick is a name to watch on waiver wires. If the Suns bail on the experiment, Warrick would be in line for a big role as the starting "four." But he's not on the radar unless he's on the court with Steve Nash. He has to crack that starting five.

Fri Jul 9 201015:28Suns officially acquire Hakim Warrick
The Suns have acquired forward Hakim Warrick in a sign-and-trade deal with the Bulls sending a second-round pick to Chicago in 2011.
Warrick has signed a four-year contract worth about $18 million, and shouldn't have much trouble earning big minutes now that Amare Stoudemire is out of the picture.
Fri Jul 2 201011:20Report: Suns ink Warrick to four-year deal
The Suns have reportedly signed free agent power forward Hakim Warrick to a four-year, $18 million contract.
Goodbye Amare, hello Hakim. Warrick's arrival in Phoenix officially ends Amare Stoudemire's stint with the Suns and our guess is Amare will land with the Knicks. As for Warrick's fantasy value in Phoenix? A lack of blocked shots hurts him, but he should have plenty of opportunities for double-doubles. He's a better natural rebounder than Amare, but about half the offensive player.
