Mon Feb 20 201219:26Walker (elbow) out on Monday vs. Nets
Bill Walker (elbow) did not play on Monday against the Nets.
Walker could be held out through the All Star break as the Knicks are trying to integrate players into the Linsanity. Go ahead and drop him if you've been spot-starting or holding him in a deeper format.

Sun Feb 19 201212:42Bill Walker out Sunday w/ injured elbow
Bill Walker has been ruled out for Sunday's game with an injured elbow.
No word on exactly what's ailing Walker, but it doesn't sound too serious. His role is likely to shrink even further with J.R. Smith in town and Carmelo Anthony healthy, so don't give him a second thought in average leagues.

Tue Feb 7 201214:09Bill Walker, Shumpert to pick up slack at SF
Coach Mike D'Antoni said that Bill Walker and Iman Shumpert will get Carmelo Anthony's (groin) minutes at small forward.
Anthony is officially out 1-2 weeks, but owners should note that the All-Star break looms in 2 1/2 weeks. In the three earlier games that Anthony missed this year, Walker averaged 9.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.6 3-pointers per game. Although Shumpert will likely come off the bench, he's a better candidate for both minutes and fantasy production thanks to his well-rounded game.

Sat Jan 28 201202:13Bill Walker hits seven threes for 21 points
Bill Walker set season-highs for points (21) and 3-pointers made (seven) on Friday, hitting 7-of-12 shots from the field (7-of-10 from deep) with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block in 31 minutes off the bench.
It looks like the Knicks decided they would live or die with the deep ball and Walker got hot. Carmelo Anthony (wrist, ankle) will not play on Saturday, so give Walker a look if you need a spot-start. Otherwise, there's really nothing to see here after Melo gets back.

Fri Jan 27 201221:50Walker starts second half; on fire from deep
Bill Walker started the second half of Friday's game against the Heat, with Iman Shumpert heading to the bench.
Walker not only started but has hit seven threes mid-way through the third quarter. Owners shouldn't go running to the wire to add Walker for anything but spot-action on Saturday, as he will go back to being inconsistent once Carmelo Anthony returns. Owners shouldn't panic on Shumpert, either, as he's simply going through a slump while New York re-tools their offense.

Sun Jan 22 201200:03Bill Walker scores 15 points in 11 minutes
Bill Walker got hot early on Saturday and wound up scoring 15 points in just 11 minutes vs. the Nuggets, making 5-of-6 FGs with three 3-pointers.
Walker has cracked double-digit points in just four games all season, a fair indication of his fantasy usefulness. In order to flirt with reliable value, he'll at least need to improve his percentages (42% FGs, 31% threes).

Sat Jan 21 201201:34Walker (knee) returns to action on Friday
Bill Walker (knee) returned to action on Friday, scoring three points on 1-of-4 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 22 minutes off the bench.
Walker has been a decent spot-starting candidate when starters get hurt, but that's about it.

Thu Jan 19 201200:12Bill Walker misses game with sore knee
Bill Walker missed Wednesday's game with a sore right knee.
He'll have his moments off the Knicks bench this season, but isn't worth owning in most fantasy leagues. He's day-to-day.

Sat Jan 14 201222:47Bill Walker bad in start for injured Carmelo
Bill Walker started at SF in place of Carmelo Anthony on Saturday, but scored just three points with seven rebounds in 21 minutes.
Walker was 1-of-6 from the field, and with Melo day-to-day there's no reason to bother picking him up.

Fri Jan 13 201216:17Bill Walker could start Saturday at OKC
Bill Walker could start against the Thunder on Saturday due to Carmelo Anthony's ankle injury.
If Melo, who is listed as doubtful, is unable to go, Bill Walker will draw the start, accoring to coach Mike D'Antoni. Walker might be worth a short-term look while Melo's out, but it doesn't sound like he'll miss too much time.

Fri Jan 13 201200:20Walker could start if Anthony (ankle) is out
Bill Walker scored 14 points off the bench on Thursday against the Grizzlies, hitting 5-of-8 shots from the field (including four threes) with three rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block in 21 minutes.
Walker saw many of Carmelo Anthony's minutes once he left due to wrist and ankle injuries, and is the early favorite to start if Anthony misses any time. He'll have elevated value if Melo is out whether he starts or not, but owners can pick-and-play with confidence if he does.

Thu Dec 29 201101:33Bill Walker scores 14 points off Knicks bench
Bill Walker had 14 points, two rebounds and two 3-pointers on 6-of-8 shooting in Wednesday's loss.
He seems to get hot in streaks, but is a tough guy to roster in fantasy leagues. See if he can play like this in a couple more games before moving on him.

Sat Dec 24 201109:57Bill Walker (groin) may play in opener
Bill Walker (strained groin) returned to practice with the Knicks on Friday and could play in Sunday's season opener.
Walker was out the past 11 days so we're not expecting him to play a big role, even if he is healthy enough to play. He's a career 40% shooter from downtown but shouldn't be owned in standard leagues.

Thu Dec 22 201107:51Bill Walker doubtful for Christmas day opener
Bill Walker (hamstring) is doubtful to play in the Knicks opening game.
Walker's injury was previously reported as a groin strain, but it appears it's been his hamstring that has bothered him. He might return to practice on Friday, but he's already been ruled out for Christmas day.

Wed Dec 21 201118:34Bill Walker out for Knicks preseason finale
Bill Walker (groin) won't play in the Knicks' preseason finale on Wednesday.
The Knicks expect Walker to be available on Sunday, but he'll have no fantasy value coming off the bench at the beginning of the season.

Fri Dec 16 201111:03Bill Walker remains sidelined during practice
Bill Walker (groin) missed his fourth straight practice on Friday.
Coach Mike D'Antoni said that he expects Walker to be ready to go by Christmas, but groin injuries tend to linger and wouldn't commit to him being back for opening night.

Thu Dec 15 201111:15Bill Walker still not practicing on Thursday
Bill Walker (groin) is still not practicing on Thursday.
He is in the rotation as of now, but his spot could be in jeopardy if he continues to miss time leading up to the season. The Knicks continue to call it a groin injury and offer no detail outside of that.

Tue Dec 13 201112:07Bill Walker missing from practice on Tuesday
Bill Walker (groin) was absent from practice on Tuesday.
Walker will serve as depth on the New York bench this season. Check back for updates to make sure the injury is not serious.

Tue Apr 19 201122:58Walker posts 0-for-11 shooting line in loss
Bill Walker was shut out on 11 shot attempts in Tuesday's Game 2 loss, scoring two points on free throws to go with eight rebounds, one assist, and two steals in 32.5 minutes off the bench.
That's the bad news, but the good news is that he could be in line for more minutes should Amare Stoudemire's statements about playing in Game 3 prove to be optimistic. And while it's hard to put the burden entirely on Walker, if he could have converted just a handful of shots, the Knicks have a great shot at winning.

Wed Apr 13 201100:37Walker scores 18 points off the bench
Bill Walker scored 18 points off the bench on Tuesday, hitting 6-of-12 shots from the field (including three treys) to go with three rebounds in 22 minutes.
This line is extremely fluky, but if you're desperate for 3-pointers he will be worth a look in the Knicks' finale on Wednesday. With no playoff position to fight for, it's possible he earned minutes for an attempt at a repeat performance.
