Neal scored a team-high 21 points (9-15 FG, 2-4 3pt, 1-1 FT), with six rebounds, two assists and a steal in 27 minutes during Tuesday's loss to the Pelicans.
With Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (ribs) injured, someone needed to step up, and it was Neal. He led the way offensively, and played the same or more minutes than three of the Hornets' starters (Kemba Walker, Marvin Williams, Lance Stephenson). You'll need to monitor Kidd-Gilchrist's status moving forward, but if he misses extended time, then Neal could be a player to watch for in daily fantasy games.

Neal got the nod to start the second half after Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (ribs) left the game. In his 31 minutes, Neal logged in 17 points, 3 assists, and went 3-of-3 from beyond the arc.
Neal was impressive scoring the second most amount of points for the Hornets tonight. Sliding Lance Stephenson to the 3 would create an opportunity for Neal to play huge minutes if Michael-Kidd Gilchrist misses any time.

Neal scored 20 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3P, 10-10 FT) with three rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's preseason loss to the Pistons.
The work he put in this offseason to get slimmer and quicker paid off Wednesday, as Neal was able to attack the basket and get to the line almost at will. He's always been a great free throw shooter, converting at almost 90% last season, so if he add some free throw volume to his offensive arsenal he should easily be able to establish a new career scoring high.
Thu Sep 25 201417:24Neal has lost 22 pounds during offseason
Neal has lost 22 pounds during the offseason, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Neal was listed at 210 pounds heading into last season, so he'll play at around 190 in 2014-15. The veteran figures to be lighter on his feet, which theoretically should help improve his perimeter defense, which is already formidable.
Sun Apr 20 201417:57Gary Neal plays 28 minutes off bench Sunday
Gary Neal played 28 minutes off the bench against the Heat on Sunday, scoring 17 points with three boards and two 3-pointers.
He ate into Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's playing time, which is not really a surprise. MKG doesn't bring much on the offensive end and didn't score in the first half before putting in five after halftime, so this probably going to be a trend in this series.

Wed Apr 9 201421:47Gary Neal has nice game in win
Gary Neal hit 5-of-14 shots and a 3-pointer off the bench for 16 points, four rebounds and four assists in Wednesday's overtime win against the Wizards.
Neal has had some games like this at times this season, but simply isn't reliable enough to put into your lineup as long as he's coming off the bench. Kemba Walker was struggling with his shot tonight, hitting just 6-of-21 for 17 points and 12 assists, so Neal may have seen a few more minutes than normal. The Bobcats moved up to the No. 6 seed with the win, led by Al Jefferson's typically strong line of 20 points and 18 boards.

Mon Mar 31 201422:43Gary Neal quiet in return on Monday
Gary Neal returned on Monday vs. the Wizards with nine points, six boards, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 21 minutes.
He suffered knee and ankle injuries over the past week and was right back at his 21.2 minutes per game. Neal was hot before going down, but Chris Douglas-Roberts has played well enough to take some minutes out of Neal's allotment. He can be left alone in most formats.

Mon Mar 31 201418:34Gary Neal good to go vs. Wizards
Gary Neal (knee, ankle) will play against the Wizards on Monday.
He's been expected to play since Sunday and the news became official today. Neal was playing well before his knee issue, but he'll likely have to give some of his work to Chris Douglas-Roberts tonight. The two kind of cancel each other out for most fantasy owners.

Sun Mar 30 201412:35Gary Neal (knee) expects to play Mon vs. Wiz
Gary Neal (knee) stated that he felt fine at the end of Sunday's practice and expects to suit up for Monday's game vs. the Wizards.
Nothing is official just yet, but things are looking positive for Neal. He doesn't offer much outside of points and 3-pointers, but if you're looking for a spot-start to bolster those categories, Neal could be your guy.

Thu Mar 27 201410:53Gary Neal shut down until injuries improve
The Bobcats are shutting down Gary Neal (knee) until his knee and ankle injuries improve.
It is unclear exactly how long Neal will be shut down for, but coach Steve Clifford had previously said the guard could miss two or three games. Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 16 points in 26 minutes during Wednesday's win over Brooklyn and makes for a decent pick up in deeper leagues while Neal is out.

Wed Mar 26 201417:23Gary Neal (ankle, knee) out on Wednesday
Gary Neal will not play against the Nets on Wednesday due to ankle and knee issues.
Coach Steve Clifford added Neal could miss 2-3 games. Neal had a sore knee heading into Monday's game and perhaps it held him back in a scoreless game vs. the Rockets. With Neal out, Chris Douglas-Roberts figures to be the primary weapon off the bench.

Mon Mar 24 201421:52Gary Neal doesn't make a shot vs. Houston
Gary Neal (knee) did not make any of his eight shots against the Rockets on Monday.
He had just one board and one turnover in this loss. Neal suffered a minor knee injury over the weekend, but it likely didn't affect him with 15 minutes. He should have better luck against the Nets on Wednesday night.

Mon Mar 24 201413:15Gary Neal (knee) expects to be fine Monday
Gary Neal was limited by a sore knee during Saturday's win vs. Portland, but he expects to play without limitations on Monday.
Neal is averaging 12.5 points and 1.7 threes per game in Charlotte. He's had a smoother adjustment to the trade than Luke Ridnour, and is worth a look for anyone hunting a cheap source of points and 3s on the waiver wire.

Wed Mar 19 201423:59Gary Neal scores 17 off Bobcats bench
Gary Neal hit 5-of-9 shots and three 3-pointers for 17 points in 27 minutes on Wednesday.
Neal had just nine points on Monday, but scored 18 on Sunday. He's starting to get some run in Charlotte, but will remain inconsistent as long as he's coming off the bench behind Kemba Walker and Gerald Henderson.

Mon Mar 17 201421:32Gary Neal scores just nine points vs. ATL
Gary Neal scored just nine points in 28 minutes vs. the Hawks on Monday, adding two boards, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer.
His playing time is still an encouraging sign and the Bobcats seem comfortable playing him in the high 20s right now. Neal has played 27.3 minutes per game over his last four and is a low-end player to own in some formats for his 3-point upside.

Sun Mar 16 201416:44Gary Neal scored 18 points in six FGA vs. MIL
Gary Neal was remarkably efficient against his former team on Sunday, making 5-of-6 from the field and 6-of-6 from the line for 18 points with two boards, one steal and two 3-pointers.
The boo birds were out in Milwaukee for Neal after he basically quit on his team. He's scored at least 18 points in three consecutive games while shooting 72.0 percent from the field. He's hit 2.6 triples per game in that stretch, which gives him a ridiculous 88.0 effective field goal percentage. He's become a middle-class man's Jamal Crawford, so he's on the radar in some formats while he's hot.

Fri Mar 14 201421:57Gary Neal scores 19 points off bench
Gary Neal returned from a one-game absence on Friday vs. the Wolves, finishing with 19 points, four assists and three 3-pointers on 8-of-10 from the field in 25 minutes.
He was benched on Wednesday for a "mistake" and he turned it around with a great first half. Neal isn't going to be handling the ball much and will really just help space the floor, so he's not much of a pickup even after his best game with his new team.

Fri Mar 14 201410:46Gary Neal's mistake was behavioral
Gary Neal admitted to making a "mistake" that got him benched on Wednesday.
Coach Steve Clifford called it an internal team matter. "Me and coach talked about it and we'll move forward from there," Neal said. It's poor timing with Gerald Henderson healthy and Chris Douglas-Roberts playing well.

Wed Mar 12 201419:26Gary Neal out for 'internal team matter'
Gary Neal will not play on Wednesday due to "an internal team matter."
He had some issues with the the Bucks so there will obviously be some guesses here on what Neal did. There should be more details eventually, but fantasy owners shouldn't be counting on him now that Gerald Henderson is back.

Mon Mar 10 201421:49Neal gets hot off the bench for the Bobcats
Gary Neal got hot off the bench on Monday, hitting 7-of-9 shots (including three treys) for 19 points, four rebounds, four assists and a steal in 31 minutes.
Gerald Henderson could return as soon as Wednesday so there isn't much, if anything to get excited about. Neal has always been able to fill it up on a moment's notice but consistency is the issue.
