Vasquez scored 19 points (8-16 FG, 1-5 3P, 2-4 FT) with five assists and a steal in 34 minutes during Sunday's OT loss to the Lakers.
Stepping into the starting lineup in place of the injured DeMar DeRozan (groin), Vasquez showed some of the same chemistry with Kyle Lowry that he displayed last season when the duo were on the floor together. Raptors coach Dwane Casey could mix up his starting lineups depending on the opponent, but look for Vasquez to see a big boost in minutes while DeRozan is sidelined even if he doesn't get every start.

Vasquez will move into the starting lineup on Sunday with DeMar DeRozan (groin) sidelined, the Raptors announced.
He enjoyed some success last season on a per-minute basis when he was on the court alongside Kyle Lowry, so Vasquez could be worth a speculative add in case he sticks in the starting lineup, and Raptors coach Dwane Casey doesn't mix and match his rotations while DeRozan is out.

Vasquez scored 21 points (8-12 FG, 3-6 3P, 2-2 FT) with three assists and two rebounds in 17 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's win over the Hawks.
He'd had a quiet start to the year, with Lou Williams becoming the Raptors' go-to back court option this season off the bench, but at least for one night Vasquez caught fire from the floor. It would likely take a Kyle Lowry injury for Vasquez to have consistent fantasy value, though.

Vasquez (knee) played 14 minutes and had eight points (3-6 FG, 2-2 3Pt) and four rebounds in the win over the Jazz on Saturday.
Vasquez was battling a knee contusion, but played his usual complement of minutes. He has only played more than 16 minutes once in his last five games and has just one assist in his last three games.

Vasquez (knee) will be available to play Saturday against the Jazz.
A right knee contusion threatened to keep Vasquez off the floor Saturday, but coach Dwane Casey said the 27-year-old will be a go. Vasquez is shooting just 32.9 percent from the field so far this season, with averages of 8.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 19 minutes.

Vasquez (knee contusion) is a game-time decision for Saturday's game against Utah, TSN 1050's Josh Lewenberg reports.
He has a right knee contusion, and if he cannot play, Kyle Lowry will see a bump in playing time as the starter with Lou Williams serving as the backup point guard.

Vasquez scored 10 points (4-12 FG, 1-7 3P, 1-1 FT) with four assists and three rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench Tuesday.
He's now scored in double digits in three of the Raptors' four games, and while his minutes and fantasy value are limited by playing behind Kyle Lowry, Vasquez remains an integral part of the club's second unit.

Vasquez will sit out Friday's game as a precaution after he was struck in the head by a ball at shootaround.
This is something to keep an eye on, as a ball to the head wouldn't typically result in any kind of lingering effects. Consider him day-to-day.

Vasquez scored nine points (3-9 FG, 1-4 3P, 2-2 FT) with eight assists and four rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench during the Raptors' preseason opener on Sunday.
His shot was a little rusty, but otherwise Vasquez had a strong night as the Raptors downed the Kings. He'll be the anchor of the club's second unit, and with Louis Williams and James Johnson replacing John Salmons and Steve Novak, Vasquez should have a more dangerous mix of weapons to distribute to this season.
Wed Jul 9 201422:37Greivis Vasquez reaches agreement w/ Raptors
Greivis Vasquez has reached an agreement to re-sign with the Raptors for $13 million over two years.
He was a restricted free agent, but there was never really a doubt he'd be coming back, especially after the Raptors traded away Steve Novak. Vasquez gets a hefty raise here from just $2.1 million last year, so the Raptors may have went a bit over market value for a backup point guard. They also dropped $48 million over four years for their starting Kyle Lowry. GV won't have much fantasy value as a backup. The Raptors also have brought in Lou Williams. Guess what their favorite position is this offseason.

Tue Jul 8 201410:19Raptors working on deal with Greivis Vasquez
The Toronto Raptors are working towards completing a deal with unrestricted free agent Greivis Vasquez.
The deal is close to being finalized and could be completed as soon as Thursday, according to reports. Vasquez told media outlets in Venezuela that he is considering the $3.1 million qualifying offer from the Raptors, which would make him an unrestricted free agent again next summer. Vasquez still wants to sign somewhere where he can become a starter, so a one-year deal with Toronto makes sense since they just signed Kyle Lowry to a long-term contract.

Sat Jul 5 201414:59Greivis Vasquez getting interest from Bucks
Restricted free agent Greivis Vasquez is getting interest from the Bucks.
The Raptors unloaded the last two years of Steve Novak's deal on Friday, so they have enough room to make a solid offer to Vasquez. It sounds like he might get a bigger offer than he probably should with the Raptors, but it's possible the Bucks pay even more. He would certainly have more fantasy value on the Bucks.

Sat Jun 28 201412:08Raptors make qualifying offers to GV and Co.
The Raptors made a qualifying offer to Greivis Vasquez to make him a free agent.
This is just a formality since the qualifying offer was just over $3 million. Vasquez will likely fetch a deal much larger than that from other teams, but the Raptors can match it. Kyle Lowry is still likely going to be back with the Raptors, despite some erroneous reports earlier this week.

Wed Jun 25 201409:29Greivis Vasquez aims for starting PG role
Restricted FA Greivis Vasquez said that he still wants to "give [himself] a chance to be a starting point guard."
"This is a huge summer," said Vasquez. "Obviously, Kyle Lowry [is an] unrestricted free agent. I'm a restricted free agent . What I know is that I have one of the greatest times this past season with the Toronto Raptors. After coming off a tough injury I finished up the season very very strong and I did my thing." Vasquez did play well down the stretch last year, but still only returned late-round fantasy value in 25.0 minutes per game over the final month of the regular season.

Mon Apr 14 201422:18Vasquez goes for 25 and seven vs. Bucks
Greivis Vasquez started for resting DeMar DeRozan in the Raptors' 110-100 win over the lowly Bucks on Monday, scoring 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting (including five threes) with two rebounds, seven assists and no steals or blocks.
Vasquez can put up numbers against bad teams when his usage spikes due to injuries. The Raptors are still tied up with Chicago for the No. 3 seed in the East, so it's possible that DeMar DeRozan returns and makes Vasquez an easy drop. Jonas Valanciunas added 14 and 13 with no defensive stats but 6-of-6 makes from the foul line in the win.

Mon Apr 14 201418:15Greivis Vasquez will start at shooting guard
Greivis Vasquez will start in place of DeMar DeRozan (rest) on Monday night vs. the Bucks.
The Raptors have used Vasquez next to Kyle Lowry a lot since the All-Star break and he should be looking at minutes in the high 20s tonight. Vasquez will likely have plenty of chances to add threes and dimes for fantasy owners, so he's a nice option to start in standard leagues.

Wed Apr 2 201422:49Greivis Vasquez logs 40 minutes w/ Lowry out
Greivis Vasquez had 15 points, eight assists, four rebounds, four 3-pointers and one steal in Wednesday's win over the Rockets.
With Kyle Lowry (knee) sidelined, Vasquez predictably did his roto-friendly thing while playing 40 minutes. The only caveat here is that Lowry has no structural damage and appears to be on the good side of a questionable tag ahead of Friday's game against the Pacers. Owners that streamed in Vasquez need to be prepared to pivot quickly based on Thursday's practice report.

Wed Apr 2 201418:08Greivis Vasquez will start vs. the Rockets
Greivis Vasquez will start in place of Kyle Lowry (knee) on Wednesday vs. the Rockets.
He's played several minutes at shooting guard this year, but all of his time is going to be at the point tonight. Vasquez should run most of the offense along with DeMar DeRozan and makes for a terrific plug-and-play option in all formats going up against Jeremy Lin and the up-tempo Rockets.

Tue Apr 1 201400:19Greivis Vasquez likely to get some starts
Greivis Vasquez played 23 minutes vs. the Heat on Monday during a 93-83 loss with 17 points, one assist, four turnovers and three 3-pointers.
It wasn't his best game and only having one assist doesn't really make sense, but his playing time and role with the team will likely expand with the injury to Kyle Lowry (knee). No player handed out more dimes than Vasquez last season and he has a full set of skills with respect to filling the stat sheet, so he's probably the best pickup you can make tonight.

Sun Mar 30 201418:48Greivis Vasquez gets five stitches on face
Greivis Vasquez received five stitches on Sunday to close up a cut to his left cheek.
He should return and there is no word of any concussion, so he should be good to go. Vasquez's minutes are on the rise now that the Raptors are dialing down Kyle Lowry's minutes.
