Fri Mar 28 201421:41Vasquez scores 15 points with five assists
Greivis Vasquez scored 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting with two rebounds, five assists, one steal and three treys in 24 minutes off the bench on Friday.
Kyle Lowry left the game due to an ankle injury and later returned, and depending on how the Raptors choose to handle Lowry it looks like Vasquez could have some speculative appeal. Once the seeding in the East starts to sort itself out the Raps probably would love to give Lowry a game off or two, but nothing is imminent at this time.

Wed Mar 26 201422:22Greivis Vasquez plays 17 minutes in win
Greivis Vasquez played through a left ankle injury on Wednesday, but saw just 17 minutes for seven points and two assists in the win.
Kyle Lowry still hasn't really seen his minutes severely limited and played 34 minutes tonight. And as long as Lowry is getting 30 minutes a night, Vasquez will have no fantasy value.

Tue Mar 25 201421:38Greivis Vasquez appears to injure ankle/leg
Greivis Vasquez seemed to injure his left ankle or lower leg during the final play of regulation on Tuesday.
The Raptors faced a two-point deficit with possession of the ball, but Vasquez's foot seemed to give out when he planted and he wound up throwing a wild pass which was stolen by the Cavaliers. We'll include him on the injury report as having an 'ankle' injury until the Raptors provide an update.

Fri Mar 21 201423:57Greivis Vasquez scores 21 points off bench
Greivis Vasquez scored 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting against the Thunder on Friday with five boards, four assists and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes.
The Raptors may have lost Terrence Ross to a hip injury, so there could be some minutes opening up for Vasquez. Coach Dwane Casey has used a two-PG lineup plenty of times and there's certainly a chance for GV to get up around 28 minutes. He's worth a look as a speculative add for point guard-needy owners.

Sun Mar 16 201417:17Greivis Vasquez scores just two points
Greivis Vasquez scored just two points vs. the Suns on Sunday with three boards and two assists in 19 minutes.
He posted a 17-point line on Friday night and was on the other end of the spectrum today. Vasquez's playing time and production is kind of tied to how well Terrence Ross is playing, so that obviously means he'll be inconsistent. He's not worth owning in most formats while Kyle Lowry and Ross are healthy.

Sat Mar 15 201400:43Greivis Vasquez scores 17 points off bench
Greivis Vasquez scored 17 points in his 28 minutes off the bench on Friday with five boards, six assists, three steals and three 3-pointers.
This was a big jump in playing time and coach Dwane Casey went with GV after he got it going on offense in the first half with 12 points. Vasquez's defense as a second point guard is going to make it tough on him to get big minutes, so he's not a big pickup until he can do it again.

Sun Mar 2 201418:45Greivis Vasquez scores 12 points vs. Warriors
Greivis Vasquez was relatively quiet despite Terrence Ross' absence on Sunday, scoring 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting with a pair of 3-pointers and four assists.
He was coming off a 26-point eruption in Toronto's triple-overtime game on Thursday, and owners can take solace in the fact that he's scored double-digit points in four consecutive games. Give him a look if you need a cheap source of points, 3-pointers and assists.

Thu Feb 27 201423:10Greivis Vasquez goes off for 26 points
Greivis Vasquez scored a season-high 26 points against the Wizards on Thursday with two boards, eight assists, two steals and four 3-pointers on 11-of-19 shooting.
The Raptors were in major foul trouble in their frontcourt and went with a smaller lineup to close the game. Kyle Lowry wasn't at 100 percent due to an ankle sprain he suffered at the end of the fourth quarter, so Vasquez put up some big numbers in the three overtime frames. Terrence Ross (ankle) was limping as he left the arena, so Vasquez has some added appeal for Sunday's game against the Warriors. If you have someone to cut and need a point guard, he's worth a look.

Tue Feb 25 201423:32Greivis Vasquez with 15 points in 17 minutes
Greivis Vasquez hit 6-of-11 shots and three 3-pointers for 15 points and two assists in just 17 minutes on Tuesday.
It seems like we write this blurb about once every couple weeks, but as long as Kyle Lowry is healthy, Vasquez is going to struggle to produce in such limited minutes.

Tue Feb 18 201422:33Greivis Vasquez plays well off Raps bench
Greivis Vasquez came off the bench for 14 points, seven assists and two 3-pointers on 6-of-8 shooting in 26 minutes of Tuesday's win.
He's been pretty quiet behind Kyle Lowry this season and unless Lowry is traded, nights like this one should be few and far between. Terrence Ross was in foul trouble for the entire night, which led to extra minutes for Vasquez.

Tue Feb 4 201402:46Vasquez plays through illness on Monday
Greivis Vasquez played through an illness on Monday, scoring 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting (no threes) with three rebounds, four assists and a steal in 27 minutes.
It looks like the illness was responsible for the dip in production from Friday and Vasquez should be in this ballpark going forward, though he won't play this much when Kyle Lowry gets a full complement of minutes. Lowry left after 25 minutes tonight because of a sore knee, but has already said he will play in Wednesday's game in Sacto. Vasquez should be plenty motivated to do well after getting the Pizza Guy treatment.

Mon Feb 3 201419:56Greivis Vasquez ready to go on Monday night
Greivis Vasquez (illness) is available to play on Monday vs. the Jazz.
This confirms an earlier report of GV saying he'd be able to go tonight on the road. His minutes have been all over the place in the past couple weeks, so it's hard to sign off on owning him in standard leagues right now.

Mon Feb 3 201414:16Greivis Vasquez expected to play vs. Jazz
Greivis Vasquez (illness) said he is feeling better and expects to play against the Jazz on Monday.
He did not play against the Blazers on Saturday night and struggled on Friday with a scoreless game. Vasquez's minutes are going to be hard to come by with Kyle Lowry playing at All-Star levels and Terrence Ross suddenly improving. He can be left on the wire in most leagues unless you're in need of assists.

Sat Feb 1 201421:20Greivis Vasquez out with an illness at POR
Greivis Vasquez will not play on Saturday due to an illness.
Perhaps this explains why he was terrible on Friday and did not score in 20 minutes. Regardless, Terrence Ross is playing well and figures to get most of the minutes next to Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan, so there is not much opportunity for GV right now. Julyan Stone may get in the rotation a bit tonight.

Sat Feb 1 201401:40Greivis Vasquez's numbers take a dive Friday
Greivis Vasquez's playing time went south on Friday vs. the Nuggets, playing 20 minutes for no points, two boards, three assists and three turnovers.
Coach Dwane Casey went with the hot Terrence Ross next to DeMar DeRozan on the wing, so there wasn't much room for GV tonight. He could bounce back at some point and would obviously explode should the Raptors trade Kyle Lowry for some reason, but Vasquez isn't worth owning in standard leagues right now.

Wed Jan 29 201421:54Greivis Vasquez struggles in start
Greivis Vasquez started in place of DeMar DeRozan on Wednesday but hit just 2-of-7 shots (both 3-pointers) for six points and six assists.
We were hoping for more out of his 37 minutes and Vasquez's hot streak is clearly over. And it will get worse once DeRozan is back, but there's always a chance that Kyle Lowry could be traded, which would likely vault Vasquez into the starting point guard job.

Wed Jan 29 201418:53Greivis Vaszquez gets the start vs. Magic
Greivis Vasquez will start in place of DeMar DeRozan on Monday.
Steve Novak started on Monday and it didn't go well for the sharpshooter, so coach Dwane Casey is going to change it up. The Raptors have used a lot of lineups with Vasquez and Kyle Lowry, so Vasquez could be a cheap source of assists tonight.

Mon Jan 27 201422:10Vasquez posts solid line off the bench
Greivis Vasquez scored 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes off the bench on Friday.
Vasquez should think about a permanent move to shooting guard where his lack of quickness won't be exploited quite as much, and his ball-handling and 3-point shooting can become more of an asset. It's working right now for the Raptors, and with DeMar DeRozan out he's worth a look in standards until Double-Deez returns and possibly after that.

Sat Jan 25 201422:19Greivis Vasquez takes a backseat Sat.
Greivis Vasquez took a backseat to the hot Terrence Ross on Saturday, playing 20 minutes against the Clippers with eight points, three boards and three assists.
His minutes were creeping up at the expense of Terrence Ross before tonight and still even saw some time at shooting guard while Ross was at small forward. Vasquez actually gained some fantasy value with DeMar DeRozan going down, so his owners shouldn't look to cut GV unless it's to add someone like Ross.
