Rivers benefited from the absence of Jamal Crawford in this one, who has now missed two games in a row, after leaving Monday's game in the second quarter with a calf contusion. With Crawford expected to miss the next week as well with the injury, Rivers could continue to play minutes in the high 20's or low 30's for as long as he is out. Even while getting extended time, Rivers seems to be a very inconsistent option, so he'll be a high-risk play for those willing to take a chance on him.

Rivers scored 13 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT) with four assists and a steal in 25 minutes off the bench Monday.

With Jamal Crawford injuring his calf early in Monday's game, Rivers saw extra court time and was able to produce solid numbers. If Crawford ends up missing any additional time, the coach's son could be worth a short-term pickup in deeper leagues.

Although he scored a career-high 28 points Feb. 21, since then, Rivers has been awful. He's shooting a combined 2-for-16 from the floor in his past three games and is averaging 8.7 points per game this month, even with the 28-point performance. Rivers needs to remain on the waiver wire in most all leagues.

Rivers, who missed the last game with an ankle complaint, exploded, taking the most shots on the Clippers on his way to a career night. Everyone has to step up with Blake Griffin (elbow) down, and tonight it was Rivers' turn. He's scored in double digits 13 times this season, of which six of those have come since joining the Clippers in mid-January. Keep in mind that this was a blowout and his previous three games totalled just 18 points before adding Rivers outside of deep leagues. One other thing to note is that Rivers is now averaging 2.0 steals in his past six games, so that helps bump his fantasy value as well.

Rivers (ankle) will play Saturday against the Kings.

Since joining the Clippers on Jan. 15, Rivers has entered every game until sitting out Thursday due to a sore left ankle. While he's available Saturday, he may not log his typical 19 minutes per contest.

Rivers was dealing with an agitation in his foot but his medical tests checked out and he will be available to play in Sunday's game against the Thunder, the Orange County Register reports.

With J.J. Redick (back) already ruled out of Sunday's game, Rivers will likely see extended time on the court against the Thunder. In fact, Rivers started and spent 33 minutes on the court against the Raptors on Friday when Redick also sat.

Rivers was announced as the starting shooting guard against the Raptors on Friday mere moments before tipoff.

Coach Doc Rivers kept his starting lineup a secret until right before tipoff. This move sent Jamal Crawford back to his normal role off the bench while JJ Redick is still sidelined with a back injury.

Rivers played 22 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's win over the Utah Jazz, finishing with 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt), one rebound and one assist.

Rivers scored all 12 of the bench points in this game. He got a slight bump in playing time with J.J. Redick out because of back spasms, so once Redick comes back, expect him to return near his 16.7 minutes per game average that he's had in the seven games he's played with the Clippers. Even with the extra playing time, he's not worth a look in most if not all leagues, as he's averaging just 4.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.3 steals with the Clippers so far.

Rivers played 16 minutes off the bench Monday against Boston, scoring two points (1-3 FG) to go with three assists and two turnovers.

The news here is that Rivers saw steady minutes off the bench for the third straight game. His long-term role with the Clippers is still up in the air, but for now Doc Rivers appears content giving his son around 15 minutes per game as a backcourt reserve who can dabble at both guard spots.

Rivers made his Clippers debut in a loss to the Cavaliers Friday, and was held scoreless (0-4 FG) in 12 minutes, finishing the game with a plus/minus of -18.

The Clippers already have a fairly deep backcourt, so Rivers won't see more than 15 minutes or so per game. Even in 22.1 minutes per game with the Pelicans this season, Rivers shot just 38.7 percent from the floor and didn't do much besides average 6.8 points per game. Barring any major injuries, Rivers isn't a fantasy option, even with the change of scenery.

Rivers will be traded to the Clippers in a three-way deal that sends Reggie Bullock to Phoenix and Shavlik Randolph to Boston, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.

Rivers will join a Clippers team in desperate need of bench help, but the third-year guard has struggled this season, shooting just 38.7 percent in 35 games for the Pelicans. He's also hitting just 28.0 percent of his three-pointers, but the hope is that a change of scenery, as well as uniting with his father, Doc Rivers, will help take his game to the next level. Rivers projects to come off the bench as the team's third shooting guard, who could also see time as a backup point guard.

Rivers will be traded to the Clippers once the Celtics have cleared out roster space for incoming players, the Boston Herald's Steve Bulpett reports.

This is kind of a ridiculous situation, as Rivers has been an abject failure to this point in the NBA, and now his father, Doc Rivers, has orchestrated a way to get his son on his team. Still, one has to assume Doc will have as good an idea as anyone how to motivate and use his son, but this could turn into a side show if it does not work.

Rivers has officially been traded to the Celtics, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! reports.

Rivers has seen some signifiant playing time this season, but that was partially due to some injuries in the New Orleans' backcourt. There are also rumors that Boston could trade Rivers to the Clippers soon so he could play under his father in Los Angeles. In any case, Rivers will need to see injuries to the guards in front of him in order to have reliable standard league value this year.

Rivers will be traded to the Celtics upon league approval of the three-team deal also involving the Grizzlies, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.

Rivers has seen significant playing time in New Orleans but that was mostly in part to the long absence of Eric Gordon (shoulder). Now that Gordon has returned to health, Rivers will likely benefit from a change in scenery as he'll compete for playing time with the likes of Evan Turner, Marcus Smart, and Phil Pressey in Boston.

Rivers was a DNP - Coach's Decision on Wednesday.

It's official, Rivers' fantasy value has completely evaporated now that Eric Gordon is back in the lineup. If you were still hanging onto him, feel free to look for a more useful player to replace Rivers on your roster.

Rivers had two points (1-2 FG) in just six minutes of playing time Monday against the Wizards.

Monday could mark the start of an unfavorable trend for Rivers, who was averaging 25.2 minutes-per-game over his last ten games entering Monday's contest. Eric Gordon has now returned from injury and will significantly cut into Rivers' minutes in all likelihood.

Rivers started in place of Tyreke Evans on Thursday in a win over the Rockets, playing in a season-high 35 minutes and scoring 10 points (4-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT).

Rivers struggled in just his seventh start in the past two seasons. He turned the ball over twice and had five personal fouls, although he did have six assists. Unless Evans is held out for longer, don't expect Rivers' playing time to be this high going forward.
