Mon Apr 16 201219:56Camby (back) out for Monday's game vs. DEN
Marcus Camby (back) will not play on Monday against the Nuggets.
He was a 'warmup decision' and apparently after warmups he couldn't go, which is telling because the Rockets are fighting for their playoff lives right now. Samuel Dalembert is certainly worth a look as a spot-play with some short-term upside, but given his strained relationship with Kevin McHale he's a risky play no matter how you slice it.

Mon Apr 16 201219:05Marcus Camby a game-time call
Marcus Camby's (back) status for Monday's game will be determined during pregame warmups.
Camby is taking this one right up to tip. Even if he's active, it will be hard for fantasy owners to trust the oft-injured veteran. Camby is always susceptible to in-game aggravation.

Mon Apr 16 201209:25Marcus Camby listed as day-to-day
Marcus Camby (back) is listed as day-to-day.
Camby revealed that he actually woke up Sunday morning with back pain, leading to his seven-minute night. His status for Monday's game is uncertain, but there will be the risk of in-game aggravation even if he guts it out. Patrick Patterson and Sam Dalembert are candidates to pick up minutes.

Sun Apr 15 201221:28Marcus Camby leaves early with a sore back
Marcus Camby left Sunday's game against the Nuggets with a sore back and will not return.
Camby had zero points, zero blocks and two rebounds in seven minutes before leaving. His injury history has been well-documented, so we can't rule out a lingering issue. Samuel Dalembert has come on at center for the Rockets.

Thu Apr 12 201200:04Camby plays well while Dalembert sits
Marcus Camby had nine points, 13 rebounds, a steal and two blocks in 26 minutes on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Samuel Dalembert got just 10 minutes off the bench, failed to score and didn't block a shot. Dalembert isn't even worth using at this point, but keep in mind that Camby could drop with an injury at any time.

Sat Apr 7 201205:29Camby double-doubles in Friday's win
Marcus Camby double-doubled in Friday's win over the Lakers, scoring 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting (including a rare three) with 11 rebounds and two blocks in 25 minutes.
Camby's left (non-shooting) wrist is in a ton of pain right now, but for now it seems like he'll be able to gut it out. And because he's producing at a very high level, he should be in starting lineups until further notice.

Tue Apr 3 201200:26Camby double-doubles in start on Monday
Marcus Camby started and scored 12 points on 6-of-12 shooting with 11 rebounds, two assists, and one steal in just over 30 minutes on Monday against the Bulls.
Samuel Dalembert played just five minutes and it's clear the job is now Camby's to lose. He should be owned in all formats for the upside he brings during the fantasy playoffs, though owners with solid rosters will want to evaluate the injury risk he carries. Goran Dragic kept things moving with 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting, five assists, four steals, and a block, while Courtney Lee posted 13 points but did not hit a three.

Mon Apr 2 201212:24McHale likes Camby as a starter
Coach Kevin McHale hinted that he sees Marcus Camby as his starting center going forward.
Camby has started two straight games ahead of Sam Dalembert, averaging 8.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 5.0 blocks and 3.0 steals. "He brings a nice presence to the whole team," McHale said. "You're just trying to figure out ways to make your team the most effective it can be, and I just think that Marcus in that spot is solid for us."

Sun Apr 1 201222:04Marcus Camby lights up stat sheets again
Marcus Camby thrived in another start on Sunday, racking up 10 points, nine rebounds, four steals and four blocks in 37 minutes, but the Rockets still lost to the Pacers in OT.
The Cambyman is turning back time over the past two games, averaging 8.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 5.0 blocks. Houston's three-game week is discouraging, but at this pace he seems well worth starting.

Sun Apr 1 201219:11Marcus Camby continues to start for Houston
Marcus Camby will start at center again on Sunday, and the move could be permanent.
Kevin McHale is fond of Camby's presence in the starting five, citing his defense and veteran decision-making. This is bad news for Samuel Dalembert, but they were basically splitting minutes at center anyway so the impact isn't likely to be huge.

Sat Mar 31 201202:36Camby starts; posts 16 rebounds and six blks
Marcus Camby started for Samuel Dalembert (flu) on Friday against the Grizzlies, scoring seven points on 2-of-5 shooting with 16 rebounds, two steals, and six blocks in 36 minutes.
Camby is dealing with a left wrist injury and is an every-night injury risk at this stage of his career, but we've seen him go on tears like this and he deserves fantasy consideration for that fact. We're not sure how much Dalembert's flu impacted the decision to move Camby into the starting unit, either, and after tonight's results the move may stick.

Fri Mar 30 201219:25Camby to start; Dalembert (flu) to the bench
Marcus Camby will start Friday's game against the Grizzlies, and Samuel Dalembert (flu-like symptoms) will come off the bench.
If you want to upgrade Camby a bit feel free, but don't go wild. As for Dalembert, the flu-like symptoms diagnosis will always be fishy and he should be benched, despite the fact that his workload might look pretty normal at the end of the night.

Wed Mar 28 201200:12Camby plays 18 minutes despite injury
Marcus Camby played through his left wrist injury and had four points, four rebounds and zero blocks in 18 minutes on Tuesday.
The fact he played one minute more than a healthy Samuel Dalembert speaks volumes, as Kevin McHale has cooled on Dalembert over the last two games. Camby isn't exactly tearing it up either, averaging four points, seven boards and a block over his last five.

Tue Mar 27 201219:42Camby, Dragic will play, may be limited
Marcus Camby (wrist) and Goran Dragic (ankle) will play through their injuries on Tuesday, but coach Kevin McHale is going to keep a close eye on them and pull them if necessary.
Both players will be a short leash tonight, but the good news is they're both going to gut it out after suffering injuries in Monday's overtime game. Here's to hoping they make it through the night without any more issues.

Tue Mar 27 201219:26Marcus Camby testing left wrist in pregame
Marcus Camby is testing his left wrist in pregame to see if he can play on Tuesday.
He said on Monday that he would play tonight, but is obviously a game-time decision with the torn ligament in his wrist. Stay tuned.

Tue Mar 27 201201:00Camby has torn ligaments, says he'll play
Marcus Camby tore ligaments in his left (non-shooting) wrist during Monday's game, but said that he will play on Tuesday against the Mavs.
If Kevin McHale wasn't so disenfranchised with Samuel Dalembert (two points, five rebounds, two blocks, 18 minutes) we would look at this with total skepticism. But knowing that Camby is a way for McHale to keep Dalembert on the bench, we're guessing that he will play as long as he's not blatantly hurting his wrist.

Sun Mar 18 201223:27Marcus Camby plays 20 minutes in HOU debut
Marcus Camby had eight points, eight rebounds and one steal in 20 minutes in his Rockets' debut on Sunday.
Kevin McHale is rather unpredictable, but for now we're assuming Camby will play 20-25 minutes in support of Samuel Dalembert. It's not a role that's conducive to fantasy value, so avoid him unless he posts a few nice lines.

Sun Mar 18 201216:19HOU/POR trade complete, Camby to play
The trade that sent Marcus Camby to the Rockets in exchange for Jonny Flynn, Hasheem Thabeet and a second-round pick from the Blazers has been finalized, and Camby will be able to play on Sunday.
Camby is "free to play" on Sunday according to Rockets.com reporter Jason Friedman, although it's unclear how much he minutes he will play in his debut. We expect that once he's in the full swing of things, Camby will receive somewhere around the 22.3 minutes he was averaging in Portland, splitting time with Samuel Dalembert.

Sat Mar 17 201214:07Marcus Camby very iffy to play on Saturday
Marcus Camby's status for Saturday's game is unclear, as he's waiting for all players involved in the trade to pass their physicals.
It sounds like Jonny Flynn and Hasheem Thabeet have yet to report for the Blazers, let alone pass their physicals, so we're calling Camby doubtful to play on Saturday. He'll support Samuel Dalembert and Luis Scola in the frontcourt, giving him marginal value in average leagues.

Thu Mar 15 201214:29Report: Blazers trade Marcus Camby to Rockets
The Blazers have traded Marcus Camby to the Rockets.
The Rockets will send projects Jonny Flynn and Hasheem Thabeet, as well as a second-round pick, to the Blazers. It's a "win-now" move by Houston, who figure to use Camby and Sam Dalembert in some kind of timeshare at center. Camby was only playing 22.3 minutes per game in Portland and should be able to salvage something in that range going forward.
