Thu Nov 1 201215:28Camby should be in uniform, but may not play
Though Marcus Camby (calf) is expected to suit up on Friday, Mike Woodson is uncertain if he'll play.
"We'll see," Woodson said. "He hasn't had any court time. We'll have to gauge it and see how things go through the game." The 38-year-old should eventually be a productive reserve for the Knicks, but it could take some time before he gets back into game shape.

Thu Nov 1 201213:34Woodson expects Marcus Camby for Friday
Mike Woodson "expects" Marcus Camby (calf) to be available on Friday.
It took the UMass product nearly a month to get over his calf strain, but it sounds like he'll be ready to roll for the Knicks first game of the season. He'll serve as a backup behind Tyson Chandler and is a bargain bin blocks specialist for owners who are desperate.

Wed Oct 31 201212:44Marcus Camby (calf) practicing on Wednesday
Updating a previous item, Marcus Camby (calf) is practicing on Wednesday.
Camby remains unlikely for the season opener, but it's good to see him back at practice. We're leaving him on the injury report until he plays in a game, as it doesn't appear he's likely for Thursday's opener.

Wed Oct 31 201209:40Marcus Camby (calf) unlikely for opener
Marcus Camby (calf) is unlkely to play in the season opener on Thursday.
Camby has practiced just one time since injuring the calf and missed practice on Tuesday because he had trouble traveling in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. With Camby sidelined, Kurt Thomas and Rasheed Wallace will serve as reinforcements behind Tyson Chandler.

Mon Oct 29 201208:36Marcus Camby (calf) still iffy for opener
Marcus Camby went through a light workout with a "heavy white wrap" around his calf on Sunday, but he is still questionable for the season opener.
Camby hasn't practiced in full in nearly four weeks after initially being diagnosed with a 7-10 day timetable on October 6, but it's now October 30 and he's still not right. The veteran said he would be ready to practice "for real" on Tuesday, but he made similar comments previously and his status is very much up in the air. Kurt Thomas will see an uptick in minutes behind Tyson Chandler if Camby is out.

Sun Oct 28 201214:21Marcus Camby (calf) hopeful for opener
Marcus Camby (calf) still hopes to play in the Knicks' season opener.
Camby hasn't been practicing and he'll likely be out of shape if he does play, which should limit his minutes even more than usual. The Knicks are rolling out a veteran frontcourt platoon this year, and Camby is only useful as a blocks-specialist in deep leagues.

Sat Oct 27 201210:55Camby (calf) unlikely to practice until Tue.
Mike Woodson doesn't expect Marcus Camby (calf strain) to resume practicing until "at least Tuesday," which essentially rules Camby out for the season opener.
The Knicks open their season on Thursday, Nov. 1, so there's a sliver of a chance that Camby could be in uniform, but don't count on it. When healthy the 38-year-old center will provide excellent per-minute rebounds and blocks, as usual, but there are too many red flags to bother with him in standard fantasy leagues.

Fri Oct 26 201214:38Woodson not sure when Camby can practice
Mike Woodson said he doesn't know when Marcus Camby (calf) would be able to practice again.
Camby is 38 and has been one of the more injury-plagued players in the NBA in recent years, which makes the three-year deal with the Knicks a bit of a head-scratching move. The Knicks frontcourt depth is a serious concern at this point and a few players might need to play out of position.

Tue Oct 23 201212:03Marcus Camby's opening night status in doubt
Marcus Camby's status for opening night is in doubt due to his calf injury.
Mike Woodson said "I don't know" when asked if Camby would be available for the opener. Originally thought to miss 7-10 days due to his injury, Camby has been sidelined for more than two weeks. Tyson Chandler is set to see plenty of minutes to open the year with Camby ailing.

Mon Oct 22 201209:46Marcus Camby in danger of missing more time?
Mike Woodson said that Rasheed Wallace "might be closer" than Marcus Camby (calf) to playing.
That's not good news for Camby, who previously said that he's "almost there" in his recovery. The fragile veteran is unlikely to make it through the season unscathed, and now he may not even be ready for the opener. The Knicks frontcourt depth is looking rather thin at the moment.

Thu Oct 18 201208:28Marcus Camby vows to be ready for opener
Marcus Camby (calf) is aiming to practice on Tuesday, and he vowed to be ready for the season opener.
"I feel like I'm almost right there,'' Camby said. "Doctors still want me to be out a couple of more days for rehab and treatment." It's good news that Camby is almost ready to roll, but we're certain this won't be his last injury concern of the season. It's another reminder that the Knicks will play it safe with the veteran center throughout the year.

Wed Oct 17 201209:12Marcus Camby's return date still up in air
Marcus Camby's (calf) return date remains "up in the air," according to Mike Woodson.
"I'm not concerned," Woodson said. "He's got an injury and we're treating it and eventually he'll be back out on the floor." It's not an especially promising sign that the head coach doesn't know how long Camby will be out, but given his injury history and age, it's hard to be surprised by the news. We're considering him questionable for the start of the regular season.

Tue Oct 16 201213:15No update on Marcus Camby's (calf) condition
Marcus Camby (calf) remains unable to practice.
Camby was given a 7-10 day timetable on October 6, so it's clear that he's going to be out for longer than initially expected. Given that he's in the latter stage of his career and he'll be 39 in March, nobody should really be surprised. With an inconsistent role and a spotty track record with his health, we can think of players with far more upside to target late in your draft.

Sat Oct 6 201212:53Marcus Camby sidelined with calf injury
Marcus Camby will miss 7-10 days with a left calf injury.
An MRI revealed the injury and Camby will miss (at least) the first two preseason games as a result. Camby's health is always an issue, and a bench role for the Knicks will make him tough to own in fantasy this season.

Fri Oct 5 201213:19Marcus Camby (calf) doesn't practice Friday
Marcus Camby (calf) did not practice on Friday.
On a Knicks team featuring a ton of veteran players, we're expecting there will be several reports like this throughout the season. Camby's calf is being called "sore" and he's likely just sitting out as a precaution.

Mon Jul 16 201209:47Marcus Camby has partial guarantee in year 3
Marcus Camby's contract with the Knicks is partially guaranteed in the third season of the deal.
Camby got a three-year contract with the Knicks, but it makes sense that the final season is only partially guaranteed. Camby will help to stabilize the Knicks' defense down low, but he's unlikely to accrue useful fantasy stats as a backup behind Tyson Chandler and Amare Stoudemire.

Wed Jul 11 201214:41Marcus Camby to Knicks now official
Knicks sign F/C Marcus Camby to three-year contract in sign-and-trade, sending Toney Douglas, Josh Harrellson, Jerome Jordan and 2 future second round picks to the Rockets.
The Knicks officially signed Marcus Camby to a three-year contract on Wednesday. He'll back up both Tyson Chandler and Amare Stoudemire, but outside of blocks, it's tough to see him having much fantasy value as long as the two starters stay healthy.

Mon Jul 9 201219:48Report: Knicks, Camby have come to agreement
Adrian Wojnarowski reported Monday that the Knicks will ink free agent Marcus Camby to a three-year, $13.2 million deal, which will be executed as a sign-and-trade with the Rockets receiving Toney Douglas, Jerome Jordan, and Josh Harrellson.
In return the Rockets will receive the Knicks' second round picks in 2014 and 2015, and the Knicks will pay Douglas' salary in Houston. It's hard not to like this deal for both Camby and the Knicks, as he'll provide excellent depth in the frontcourt and also keep Amare Stoudemire a bit more fresh. From a fantasy perspective, he won't be worth drafting in standard formats.

Sun Jul 8 201219:03Knicks, Nets in the lead for Marcus Camby
The Knicks and Nets are the front-runners to acquire Marcus Camby in a trade with the Rockets, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
There are no details on what each team would part with for Camby, who is 38 years old, and we're not drawing any conclusions until a deal is agreed upon. As per previous reports, the Spurs, Clippers and Celtics are also pursuing Camby.

Sun Jul 8 201213:45Clippers, Celtics added to Camby's suitors
The Clippers and Celtics have both been added to the list of contenders who want to sign Marcus Camby.
The Rockets seem resigned to letting Camby leave, and are willing to work out a sign-and-trade with any interested team. So far there has been interest from the Heat, Knicks, Nets, Spurs, Celtics and Clippers, but no real indications which way Camby or the Rockets are leaning.
