Aminu has shown improved production and versatility in recent weeks, playing backup minutes at three positions to help secure a larger role, ESPN reports. "He's playing a lot of different positions. He's playing backup center, he's playing power forward, he's playing small forward. He guarded some of the perimeter guys. He's doing a really solid job," coach Rick Carlisle said.

Aminu has seen his role expand over the last two weeks. Through 14 games in January, he averaged 4.8 points (on 29 percent shooting) in 15 minutes per game. Now, through the first four games of February, Aminu has averaged 8.0 points (on 45 percent shooting), 6.3 rebounds, 1.8 steals, 2.0 blocks, and 0.8 three-pointers in 25 mpg. While it's hard to imagine Aminu getting much more than the 25 mpg he's receiving at the moment, the fact that he's putting up such great defensive numbers makes him an interesting player to consider adding in deeper leagues, and those managers desperate for steals and blocks in standard leagues could do worse than having Aminu on the end of their bench.
