Reynolds is out of Friday's lineup against the Pirates.

Reynolds continues to struggle at the dish, regressing to his typical form of high strikeout totals that's led to just a .218 average in the month of June and just .143 since the calendar turned to July. Dan Johnson will start at first base once again Monday, while Matt Carpenter will slide back over to third base from second with Kolten Wong returning to the lineup.

Reynolds is out of the lineup Sunday against the Padres.

Reynolds is just 5-for-44 (.114) at the plate in his last 12 games, so it's not overly surprising to see him surrender first base duties to Xavier Scruggs for the second time in three days. The 31-year-old Reynolds has been subject to both hot streaks and extended slumps throughout his career, so this isn't overly surprising to fantasy owners that have dealt with him in the past. With Matt Adams (quad) not expected back anytime soon, Reynolds should at least see consistent reps in the short term -- unless, of course, Scruggs heats up or the team looks to the trade market for first base help.

Reynolds is not in the starting lineup Friday against the Padres.

With right-hander Andrew Cashner on the mound, Reynolds will sit in favor of Xavier Scruggs. Interestingly enough, Scruggs is also a right-handed bat, so the duo doesn't fit as a traditional platoon at first base for the Cards.

Reynolds is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cubs.

After Xavier Scruggs went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI in Saturday's spot start, he'll get another whirl at first base at the expense of Reynolds, who sits for a second straight day. Though Scruggs is rather unproven at the big-league level and isn't a major prospect, Reynolds' own recent struggles (0-for-11 with four strikeouts in his last three games) may lead manager Mike Matheny to employ a timeshare at the position.

Reynolds is out of the lineup Saturday against the Cubs.

Reynolds has gone 0-for-11 in his last three contests with the Cardinals, and will receive what appears to be a standard day off Saturday. Xavier Scruggs will start at first base in his place, and will bat seventh for the Cardinals.

Reynolds is out of the lineup Saturday against the Phillies.

Reynolds has taken over primary first base duties since Matt Adams went on the DL. The 31-year-old has played in five straight games, but considering his microscopic line against Phillies starter Aaron Harang (3-for-16 in his career) today seems like a good time for a day off. Xavier Scruggs will replace Reynolds in the lineup and bat seventh in the order.

Reynolds went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo shot off of Twins' starter Trevor May in the win Monday.

Reynolds has been solid since taking over full-time at first base in Matt Adams absence, hitting .271/.358/.407 in 59 at-bats since Adams went down with an injury. He makes for a decent flier at first base in most leagues.

Reynolds went 2-for-4 Saturday with two runs scored and a solo shot, his fourth home run of the season.

It's his first home run since taking over from Matt Adams (quad) as the Cards' regular first baseman, but Reynolds is hitting a respectable .272 (15-for-55) since Adams landed on the DL. Until Reynolds regains his power stroke, however, his fantasy value will be limited.

Reynolds will start at first base and bat seventh Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.

With Matt Adams hitting the 15-day DL with a right quadriceps strain, Reynolds is in line to see regular time at first base for St. Louis. Reynolds is batting .226 against right-handed pitching in small sample this year (7-for-31), but that's right near his career mark (.230), and though he only three home runs in 96 at-bats, there's reason to think he'll be a decent source of power for those in deep mixed and NL-only formats in the weeks ahead.

Reynolds will start at third base and bat eighth Saturday against Pittsburgh.

Reynolds will move across the diamond to third with Matt Adams returning to his usual spot at first base. He is 1-for-3 lifetime against Pirates starter Vance Worley.

Reynolds went 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and a launched a grand slam Monday in the win over Chicago.

After three of the first four batters reached to start the game, Reynolds sent the Travis Wood offering over the left field wall to put four runs on the board. Reynolds has just 37 at-bats this season in a limited role and his hitting .216/.341/.459 with two home runs and thirteen strikeouts.

Reynolds started in left field and hit fifth in the Cardinals' lineup on Sunday, going 1-for-5 with his first home run of the season.

The slugger has mostly been limited to pinch-hit duty this season, but got the start on Sunday with Matt Holiday taking the day off. Reynolds likely won't see consistent at-bats this season, but could be worth a look as a streaming option for power if he does get an extended run in the lineup for any reason.

Reynolds is in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers.

Reynolds will get the start at first base Thursday in place of Matt Adams, who is getting a day off. Reynolds, who is 1-for-5 with a double and three strikeouts in limited action this season, will hit fifth against Brewers starter Mike Fiers.

Reynolds will start at first base Sunday afternoon against the Reds.

Reynolds has struck out in his only two at-bats this season, but he'll get his chance Sunday in favor of Matt Adams, who will receive the day off. Reynolds is the definition of a hit-or-miss player, as he's logged 20 or more homers in each of the past three seasons, but has struck out at a clip of 31.9 percent on his career.

Reynolds will get some time in left field for the remainder of spring training, MLB.com reports.

If Reynolds can prove capable of handling the position it should help him get into the lineup more often, or at the very least a consistent lineup spot against lefties.

Reynolds, who signed with the Cardinals in December, is prepared to see a dip in his playing time, MLB.com reports.

Reynolds will get most of his looks against lefties but could be limited in that regard as well if Matt Adams hits well. He has limited experience in the outfield and can play third as well so given Matt Carpenter's flexibility Reynolds should see some time there, too. He's never started fewer than 102 games in a season, a streak that's likely to come to end in 2015.

Reynolds agreed to a contract with the Cardinals on Thursday, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Reynolds will head to St. Louis after spending last season with the division rival Brewers. He will provide a right-handed compliment to Matt Adams at first base, and Matt Carpenter at the hot corner.

Reynolds is out of the Brewers' lineup again Thursday.

Playing time has all but dried up for Reynolds, as he's set to sit Thursday for the sixth time in seven games. The 31-year-old may see starts against lefties over the final weeks of the season, but Matt Clark is starting his second straight game Thursday and manager Ron Roenicke may be inclined to give him most of the time at first base.

Reynolds is not in the Brewers' lineup Wednesday.

Reynolds has only been seeing about half the at-bats at first base over the past couple weeks, and he'll sit in favor of Matt Clark on Wednesday. While he might have more power potential than anyone on waivers in most leagues, it's hard to own him in standard leagues when the at-bats are unpredictable and his batting average is so devastating (.196).

Reynolds is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Marlins.

It seems manager Ron Roenicke's patience with Reynolds has worn completely thin, as he's sitting the 31-year-old for the eighth time in 13 games. Reynolds is off to a 1-for-13 start to September and hasn't hit a homer since Aug. 14, so look for the lefty-swinging Lyle Overbay to continue seeing the majority of the work at first over the final weeks.
