Thu Jun 3 201017:01Cust hits first homer since rejoining A's
Jack Cust went 3-for-5 and hit his first homer since being called up Thursday against the Red Sox.
He also scored three times. Cust, who took over as Oakland's primary DH when Eric Chavez landed on the DL, is hitting .264 in 53 at-bats.
Sat May 15 201018:26A's add Jack Cust from Triple-A Sacramento
Athletics purchased the contract of DH Jack Cust from Triple-A Sacramento.
Cust hit .273/.444/.436 with four home runs and 19 RBI at the Triple-A level to earn the promotion. He could be in line for a good amount of playing time due to Eric Chavez's struggles at the DH position, thus he's worth monitoring in all fantasy leagues. If the power stroke is still there, Cust does have some value. But he certainly has some proving to do.
Sat May 15 201008:07A's set to recall slugger Cust from Triple-A
Former A's designated hitter Jack Cust, who was demoted to start the season, will rejoin the team on Saturday.
After a slow start in the minors, Cust found his stroke and began doing the things that he does best: hitting home runs and drawing walks. He's currently hitting .273/.444/.436 for Triple-A Sacramento with four home runs and 19 RBI. Given the A's offensive issues so far this season, Cust's recall was only a matter of time. He's worth adding in AL-Only and deeper mixed leagues, especially if your league counts OBP instead of AVG. Cust's recall also means a drop in playing time--and thus a drop in value--for Eric Chavez.

Wed Apr 28 201014:03Cust homers in third straight Triple-A game
Jack Cust went 2-for-4 and homered for a third straight game Tuesday for Triple-A Sacramento.
Cust has finally found his swing. He hit .196 with no homers over his first 14 games, but to along with the three homers, he has a couple of singles and four walks the last three days. The A's should bring him up now and give him playing time between the outfield and DH.
Mon Apr 19 201003:00Athletics' Cust struggling in Triple-A
Jack Cust went 0-for-5 on Sunday, leaving him with a .179 average in eight games for Triple-A Sacramento.
The A's will almost surely give Cust another chance once he finds his swing, but it hasn't happened yet. He's yet to drive in a run for the River Cats.
Sat Apr 10 201012:15Cust accepts assignment to Triple-A
Jack Cust has accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Sacramento.
He keeps his salary of $2.65 million this way, so it isn't a huge surprise that he accepted his assignment. Though the A's are playing well right now, it doesn't take a wild imagination to picture a time when they may be a little punchless and need Cust's bat. Just a phone call away in Sacramento, Cust will almost certainly reappear with the A's lineup again this year.
Fri Apr 9 201011:49Jack Cust accepts minor league assignment
A major league sources tells Mychael Urban of CSNBayArea.com that Jack Cust will indeed accept a minor league assignment to Triple-A Sacramento.
On Thursday night, we learned that he had passed through waivers successfully, so the only question was whether he would elect to stay with the organization. The Oakland lineup sorely needs a power bat, so Cust could return if Eric Chavez underperforms or suffers another injury.

Thu Apr 8 201023:29Hold up. Cust not for sure heading to minors
Updating a previous item, the Chronicle's Susan Slusser says it's not yet known whether Jack Cust has accepted a minor league assignment.
We do know that he has cleared waivers, but whether he's willing to head to Triple-A Sacramento is not for sure. He was upset when the A's designated him for assignment last week, but he also has deep ties with the organization, so it could go either way. More to come.
