Tue Sep 13 202200:38Emmanuel Clase Earns 34th Save Of Season Monday
Cleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase continued his dominant season in Monday's 5-4 win over the Angels, picking up his league-leading 34th save. Clase came in to pitch the ninth inning up by one and shut the door with a 1-2-3 inning and a strikeout. The 24-year-old has delivered on his high fantasy expectations this season, converting all but three save opportunities with a 1.34 ERA and a 9.20 K/9 rate. He should continue to help fantasy managers down the stretch and should be one of fantasy's top closers going into next season.

Clase has been excellent once again this season, converting 19 of 21 save opportunities with a 1.41 ERA and 28.3% strikeout rate. Sat Jun 4 202209:53Emmanuel Clase Picks Up His Eighth Save On Friday
Cleveland Guardians reliever Emmanuel Clase pitched a clean ninth inning of Friday's 6-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles to earn his eighth save of the season. He struck out two batters and allowed no baserunners. Although Clase ranks just 18th in saves, he's putting up fantastic numbers for the second year in a row, posting a 2.21 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 28.4% strikeout rate. He should be a four-category contributor going forward and a must-start in all formats.

Mon May 23 202214:29Emmanuel Clase Providing Quality Production
Cleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase is off to a strong start this season. In 15.1 innings so far in 2022, the reliever has pitched to a 2.93 ERA and a 2.45 FIP. He's also logged a 0.98 WHIP and has just 12 hits, five earned runs, and one home run. What's more, he's converted seven of his nine save chances and has given up just one earned run in his last 10.2 innings of work. He's entrenched as the closer in Cleveland and should continue to produce like one of the elite options at his position for fantasy managers.

Tue May 10 202200:56Emmanuel Clase Blows Save, Earns Win Monday
Cleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase ended up earning the win in Monday's 12-9 extra-innings game against the White Sox. Clase came on to pitch the 10th inning with a one-run lead and a ghost runner on second. He allowed a leadoff single, allowed the tying run to score on a fielder's choice hit to him, got the first out on a sac bunt, intentionally walked the bases loaded, then got the next two outs on force outs to keep the game tied. The Guardians were able to take the lead in the 11th and ultimately finished the game, making Clase the winning pitcher of record. It wasn't his best performance, but Clase has still pitched well, compiling a 2.92 ERA to go with six of eight save opportunities converted. He remains a higher-end fantasy closer option.

Thu Apr 21 202216:30Emmanuel Clase Records Second Straight Save
Cleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase closed out the team's 6-3 win over the Chicago White Sox on Thursday. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning, retiring all three batters he faced without recording a strikeout. This was his second save on the season. His first save came just a day earlier during the team's 2-1 victory over the White Sox. The 24-year-old converted 24-of-29 save opportunities last year while pitching to a 1.29 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP. He's an elite bullpen arm and if he can stay healthy, he has a chance to flirt with 30 saves on the year.

Mon Apr 18 202208:37Emmanuel Clase Still Awaiting First Save Chance
Cleveland Guardians relief pitcher Emmanuel Clase has yet to receive a save opportunity on the season. Each of the team's four victories on the year have come in games in which the score was too lopsided headed into the ninth inning for a save opportunity to arise. Last Monday, Clase entered the game in the ninth while the team had a 10-5 lead and last Wednesday, he entered the game in the ninth while the team had a four-run lead. Clase converted 24 of his 29 save opportunities in 2021 while pitching to a 1.29 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP. He's the clear closer for the Guardians and fantasy managers can safely expect for him to start racking up saves soon.

Sat Apr 2 202217:36Guardians, Emmanuel Clase Finalize Extension
The Cleveland Guardians and closer Emmanuel Clase agreed to a five-year, $20 million contract extension on Saturday. The deal includes a $2 million signing bonus and two options at $10 million each for 2027 and 2028. The buyouts on both options are for $2 million, while escalators can bring the maximum on the options to $13 million. The Guardians will now attempt to lock up All-Star third baseman Jose Ramirez long term before Opening Day next week. Clase will start the season as Cleveland's closer after converting 24 of his 29 save chances in 2021 while posting an excellent 1.29 ERA and 0.96 WHIP over 69 2/3 innings. The hard-throwing righty is a top-10 fantasy closer.

Sat Apr 2 202210:21Emmanuel Clase Close To Contract Extension
The Cleveland Guardians and closer Emmanuel Clase were close to ironing out a contract extension on Friday. As a rookie last year, Clase went 4-5 with a 1.29 ERA and converted 24 saves in 29 opportunities over 69 2/3 innings pitched. The hard-throwing right-hander registered 100 mph or better on 44% of the 1,057 pitches he threw in 2021. The Guardians may not provide Clase with as many closing chances as some of the best teams in baseball, but he's still plenty valuable in fantasy and is ranked as RotoBaller's No. 6 closer, behind new Los Angeles Dodgers closer Craig Kimbrel.

Cleveland Indians relief pitcher Emmanuel Clase threw a perfect seventh inning while striking out one to earn his 23rd save in a 3-1 win over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday. Clase has now allowed just one earned run since July 15th and has compiled a ridiculous 1.44 ERA with 66 strikeouts across 62 2/3 innings pitched on the season. Cleveland Indians relief pitcher Emmanuel Clase recorded his 18th save of the season Sunday by allowing one hit and striking out one in the ninth inning of Sunday's 3-0 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Clase has a 0.00 ERA with five saves and 10 strikeouts across 8 2/3 innings pitched in August. He appears to have taken over closer duties for the Tribe, especially after James Karinchak struggled in this one by walking two and allowing a hit in 1/3 of an inning pitched. He should prove to be very valuable in saves leagues down the stretch.
