Thu Apr 27 202321:03Kerry Carpenter Exits Thursday's Game
Detroit Tigers outfielder/designated hitter Kerry Carpenter (shoulder) was removed from Thursday's contest against the Baltimore Orioles after making a catch and colliding with the wall, which hurt his shoulder, according to Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic. Before his exit, he was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Carpenter has been a good source of offense in a meager Tigers lineup, slashing .217/.280/.464 with four homers, 15 runs, eight RBI, and no steals across 20 games. Despite the 25-year-old's low batting average, he's a solid source of power if fantasy managers can take on his flaws. Stay tuned for more updates.

Mon Apr 3 202318:25Kerry Carpenter Hitting Cleanup Monday
Detroit Tigers outfielder/designated hitter Kerry Carpenter will hit out of the cleanup spot Monday versus the Houston Astros. Tigers skipper A.J. Hinch is rewarding the 25-year-old after he went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a pair of runs scored Saturday versus the Tampa Bay Rays. Carpenter exploded for a .331 batting average with eight home runs and a 1.064 OPS across 35 games at Triple-A last season, leading to a big-league promotion where he did not disappoint. Carpenter hit another six HR with a healthy .233 isolated power and a .795 OPS across 31 games with the Tigers a season ago. The lefty-swinging Carpenter is vying for time in a Tigers outfield consisting of mostly all left-handed bats to begin the season.

Thu Sep 29 202211:06Matt Manning, Kerry Carpenter Put On Injured List
The Detroit Tigers placed right-handers Matt Manning (forearm) and Kerry Carpenter (back) on the injured list on Thursday and selected the contract of right-hander Miguel Diaz from Triple-A Toledo and recalled utility man Kody Clemens from Toledo in corresponding moves. Manning was placed on the 60-day injured list with a right forearm strain, while Carpenter is on the 10-day IL with a left lumbar spine strain. Both pitchers will miss the rest of the regular season. The 24-year-old Manning could be headed for Tommy John surgery if his forearm strain is significant enough, which would knock him out for all of the 2023 season. Carpenter doesn't have any structural damage in his back, so he should be ready for spring training next season.

Wed Sep 28 202214:50Kerry Carpenter Not Starting For Tigers Wednesday
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter isn't in the team's lineup on Wednesday for a matchup with the Kansas City Royals and left-handed starter Daniel Lynch. Carpenter is hitting .252 in 113 plate appearances for the Tigers season, with a .310 on-base percentage and six home runs. Instead, the Tigers are starting Willi Castro in right field. Castro will sixth against Lynch and the Royals. He's hitting .236 with a .280 on-base percentage, seven home runs and nine stolen bases in 387 plate appearances this season. Fantasy managers in search of streaming help are probably better off looking elsewhere.
