Wed Dec 7 201121:29Angels nearing deal for LaTroy Hawkins
Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Angels are nearing a deal for free agent reliever LaTroy Hawkins.
A consolation prize for C.J. Wilson? All kidding aside, Hawkins is a solid addition, assuming the Halos didn't give him too much. He posted a 2.42 ERA this past season in Milwaukee, though he did strike out just 28 over 48 1/3 innings. The Brewers had been interested in bringing the 39-year-old back.

Mon Nov 28 201117:40Report: Rockies inquire about RHP Hawkins
Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that the Rockies have inquired about free agent right-hander LaTroy Hawkins.
Hawkins, who turns 39 in December, returned from shoulder surgery this season and posted a 2.42 ERA and 28/10 K/BB ratio over 48 1/3 innings. Renck hears they have also called about Broxton, though he would reportedly prefer to sign with a team closer to his home state of Georgia. The Rockies would likely need to trade Huston Street (and his remaining contract) in order to make room for either pitcher.
