Sat Jun 15 2013 | 19:58 | MRI shows no structural damage for Beachy |
An MRI on Brandon Beachy's elbow taken Saturday showed no structural damage. |
Beachy was scratched from his scheduled start against the Mets with tenderness, but the MRI showed only fluid and no structural damage to the elbow itself. That's good news, as it just requires rest. The Braves aren't hurting for a starter at the moment, so they'll give Beachy all the time he needs as he continues to work his way back from last year's Tommy John surgery. |

Fri Jun 14 2013 | 21:33 | Brandon Beachy will not return on Tuesday |
Braves general manager Frank Wren said Friday that Brandon Beachy will not return to the Braves rotation on Tuesday against the Mets. |
He hasn't experienced any type of setback, but the team feels that pushing him back and allowing him more time to recover would be the prudent thing to do. Pushing back Beachy's return also gives them more time to evaluate who to remove from the rotation, which isn't an easy decision with Julio Teheran and Kris Medlen pitching well. |
