Font (elbow) signed a minor league deal with the Reds, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
Font was designated for assignment by the Rangers in October after missing the end of the season with a shoulder injury. In 29 appearances with Double-A Frisco, Font posted a 3.48 ERA with 31 strikeouts, and should have a chance to work his way up through the organization with the Reds.

The Rangers designated Font (elbow) for assignment Thursday.
With Alfredo Figaro coming aboard via a waiver claim from Milwaukee, the Ranger went ahead and bumped Font to make room on the 40-man roster. Font underwent surgery in mid-August to remove a bone spur from his elbow, after posting a 3.48 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 9.0 K/9 in 29 appearances with Double-A Frisco. The right-hander is still just 24 years old, and figures to draw at least some interest while on waivers.

Font underwent surgery Tuesday to remove a bone spur from his elbow, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Werth Star-Telegram reports.
Font will miss the rest of the season as a result but should be healthy well ahead of the start of spring training. In 29 appearances with Double-A Frisco this season, Font posted decent, if unspectacular, numbers (3.48 ERA, 1.35 WHIP). He'll need to refine his control (4.9 BB/9) if he hopes to crack the major league bullpen in 2015.

Rangers recalled RHP Wilmer Font from Triple-A Round Rock.
The 23-year-old has posted a promising 1.27 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 49/26 K/BB ratio across 35 1/3 innings this season between Double-A and Triple-A. He should fare pretty well in a middle relief role for the Rangers.

Sun Feb 24 201314:20Wilmer Font to throw pen session
Wilmer Font (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Monday.
It will be his first since he was diagnosed with mild shoulder tendinitis last week. The shoulder ailment doesn't seem to be a big deal, but it doesn't help Font in his bid to win an Opening Day bullpen spot.

Tue Feb 19 201311:22Font dealing with shoulder tendinitis
Rangers prospect right-hander Wilmer Font was scratched from Tuesday's intrasquad game due to mild shoulder tendinitis.
Font, who missed all of 2011 following Tommy John surgery, posted a 4.03 ERA and 138 strikeouts over 98 1/3 innings last season between Double- and Triple-A and made three appearances with the Rangers in September. If healthy, the hard-throwing right-hander figures to be an option in the Rangers' bullpen at some point in 2013.

Wed Aug 31 201116:01Rangers recall Font, place him on 60-day DL
Rangers recalled RHP Wilmer Font from High-A Bakersfield; placed him on the 60-day disabled list.
He was moved to the 60-day disabled list to make room for the new additions on the 40-man roster. Font, 21, hasn't pitched at all this season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Baseball America ranked him as the organization's No. 14 prospect over the winter, so he still has a very bright future if he can bounce back.
