2B Yangervis Solarte has three homers this season, all in the last two games, after hitting one from each side of the plate Friday. Both homers came on changeups. Solarte was playing his sixth game since returning from a six-week stay on the disabled list because of a hamstring injury. "Watching games from home is not nice, it's not fun," Solarte said through an interpreter. "It's good to be back." Solarte hit a solo homer right-handed in a four-run fifth inning and hit a three-run homer left-handed that hugged the foul pole down the right-field line in a four-run sixth. "I'm getting my timing back," Solarte said. "I just want to help the team."

3B Yangervis Solarte caught a break Wednesday when San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy elected to keep LHP Josh Osich in the game to face him with a runner aboard in a 3-1 game in the eighth inning. The switch-hitter, who began the day hitting .375 against lefties, added to his impressive numbers with a two-run home run that tied the game. The homer was his first of the season. Solarte, who entered the game hitting just .190 against right-handers, struck out with the potential go-ahead run at third base in the 10th inning after Bochy brought in RHP George Kontos to face him.

3B Yangervis Solarte was activated from the 15-day disabled list on Saturday. Solarte had been sidelined since April 10 with a right hamstring strain. He was 5-for-7 with a double, two triples, two RBIs and three runs scored in two rehab starts for Triple-A El Paso. Padres manager Andy Green said Solarte will play second as well as third because he wants to keep the bat of 3B Brett Wallace in the lineup. Solarte entered Saturday night's game as a pinch-hitter in the seventh and drew the winning walk-off walk in the 11th.

3B Yangervis Solarte (hamstring) will play one more game for Triple-A El Paso and then the team will decide its next move. Solarte had a triple in a game on Thursday night and looks to be ready. "I wish he would have stayed at second," manager Andy Green said, cognizant of Solarte's moody hamstring. It's possible Solarte joins the team for Sunday's series finale against the Dodgers.

INF Yangervis Solarte (hamstring) started a two-game rehab stint with Triple A El Paso, going 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs on Thursday. Manager Andy Green said the team will evaluate Solarte's progress, but it doesn't seem as if Solarte is that far off from rejoining the team. With Solarte being out, left-handed-hitting INF Brett Wallace, an offensive player, has been forced to play more defense than the club prefers.

3B Yangervis Solarte (hamstring) is likely the next Padres infielder to return from the disabled list. Solarte wasn't believed to be that far behind INF Alexi Amarista in their rehabs, and Amarista was reinstated Wednesday. Solarte's return would limit Brett Wallace's exposure on defense.

"It's frustrating for him. He brings a ton of passion, a ton of energy out there every day." Solarte began the season 6-for-16 (.375) in five games with three doubles and four RBIs, batting sixth in his first two games and fifth in the past three. "We're hopeful this isn't but a few weeks," Green said. "And we're hopeful he's back in the middle of our order in short order."
