Fri Sep 2 201108:44Randall Delgado to start on Sunday
The Braves are expected to recall RHP Randall Delgado from Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday to start against the Dodgers.
He'll be pitching in place of an ailing Jair Jurrjens (knee). More than likely, he'll then remain with the club through the end of the year. One of the top right-handed pitching prospects in all of baseball, Delgado has posted a 3.88 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 135/57 K/BB ratio in 139 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season. He's allowed five runs (four earned) in 10 innings over two major-league spot starts.

Braves optioned RHP Randall Delgado to Triple-A Gwinnett.
He was sent down to make room for Jair Jurrjens, who will be activated from the disabled list Wednesday. Delgado tossed six no-hit innings against the Giants on Tuesday night before being pulled after giving up a solo homer to Cody Ross to begin the seventh. The promising young right-hander should rejoin the Braves when rosters expand in September, if not sooner.

Tue Aug 16 201122:34Rookie Delgado tosses 6 no-hit innings
Recalled earlier in the day from Triple-A Gwinnett, Randall Delgado tossed six no-hit innings against the Giants on Tuesday before getting yanked after allowing a Cody Ross homer to lead off the seventh.
Eric O'Flaherty relieved Delgado immediately. The talented 21-year-old was allowed to throw just 74 pitches, but he put on quite a show, allowing one hit and a walk while striking out four. He got stuck with a no-decision in the extra-innings Atlanta win. This was just a spot start for Delgado, as Jair Jurrjens will come off the DL on Wednesday, but he'll most certainly be back very soon.

Delgado made his major league debut with the Braves earlier this year, allowing four runs -- three earned -- in a four-inning start against a dangerous Rangers lineup. The talented 21-year-old should fare a little better Tuesday night against the weak-hitting Giants, but he's a couple years from becoming a solid fantasy option.
