The 33-year-old first baseman hasn't done much since the All-Star break, but with 15 homers and 54 RBI through 120 games, he is currently on pace to exceed our rather low expectations for him. | ||||||

This isn't unusual for high-priced players at this time of year. Overbay is still owed a little over $2 million until the end of the season. Morosi speculates that the Rays could look at Overbay as a potential contingency plan for Carlos Pena, who is currently on the disabled list with a foot injury. | ||||||
