Mon Aug 30 201017:41Overbay (flu) not in Monday's lineup
Lyle Overbay (flu) is out of the lineup for the third straight day Monday.
Overbay hasn't played since being pulled from Friday's game for feeling "under the weather." It could just be a coincidence, but Overbay is a prime candidate to be traded before tomorrow's waiver deadline.

Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports that Lyle Overbay was pulled from Friday's due to "precautionary reasons."
Don't pack those bags yet. Overbay is merely feeling "under the weather," according to the team. Move along folks, nothing to see here.

Fri Aug 20 201022:50Overbay homers twice, drives in seven in win
Lyle Overbay was 4-for-5 with two homers and a career-high seven RBI in a 16-2 thrashing of the Red Sox on Friday night.
Overbay hadn't homered in a game since August 7, but he slugged a three-run blast in a five-run first and another one in the third. The 33-year-old first baseman hasn't done much since the All-Star break, but with 15 homers and 54 RBI through 120 games, he is currently on pace to exceed our rather low expectations for him.
Thu Aug 12 201009:54Report: Lyle Overbay clears waivers
Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that Lyle Overbay has cleared waivers.
This isn't unusual for high-priced players at this time of year. Overbay is still owed a little over $2 million until the end of the season. Morosi speculates that the Rays could look at Overbay as a potential contingency plan for Carlos Pena, who is currently on the disabled list with a foot injury.

Lyle Overbay went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer as the Jays beat the Orioles, 5-0, on Wednesday night.
Overbay actually has five homers this month, but just 12 RBI. He's a low-upside option for AL-only owners with that .246 batting average.
Sat May 29 201015:50Overbay homers twice in win over O's
Lyle Overbay homered twice and drove in three runs in a win over the Orioles on Saturday afternoon.
Overbay hit a solo home run in the second inning -- his first since May 18 -- and added a two-run shot in the bottom of the eighth inning for some extra insurance. Vernon Wells and Aaron Hill also went yard in the contest. The Blue Jays have hit a team record 50 home runs this month.

Lyle Overbay went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and four RBI versus the Red Sox on Monday.
It appears as though Overbay's early slump is over. He's homered in back-to-back starts and gone 9-for-21 with six extra-base hits in his last six games.
