Tue Mar 22 201108:43Tigers option Scott Sizemore to Triple-A
Tigers optioned 2B Scott Sizemore to Triple-A Toledo.
Carlos Guillen is expected to return from his knee injury by the end of April and Will Rhymes has been tabbed as his temporary replacement at second base. That would have left few at-bats for Sizemore, who needs playing time. The 26-year-old should be able to climb his way to the majors at some point.

Sat Feb 26 201116:01Tigers' Sizemore goes 2-for-3 in win
Scott Sizemore collected two hits, including a two-run double, in the Tigers' 4-0 win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Sizemore and Will Rhymes appear to be battling for one spot on Detroit's roster. Carlos Guillen is penciled in as the primary second baseman, but it's hard to imagine him staying healthy in that role. Odds are that either Sizemore or Rhymes will end up having fantasy value, and Sizemore looks like the better player to us.
Fri Feb 11 201109:14Sizemore feeling better, ready to roll
Scott Sizemore said Thursday that his ankle is finally healed and that he's feeling better than ever.
Sizemore opened the 2010 season as the Tigers' primary starting second baseman, but an ankle injury hobbled him throughout the year and he posted an ugly .224/.296/.336 overall batting line against a handful of demotions. "I feel 10 times better than I did last year," he said. "With my ankle last season, it was tough to get down low on a ball." The 26-year-old will try to win a backup job in camp this spring.

Mon Sep 20 201000:29Tigers' Sizemore homers again
Making his second start since being recalled, Scott Sizemore homered again Sunday agianst the White Sox.
He hit a three-run homer as a pinch-hitter during Saturday's game, and he's now 3-for-7 since being recalled. Hopefully the Tigers will give him more starts during the final two weeks. His stock has tumbled this year, but he's their best internal option to open 2011 at second base.
Sat Sep 18 201019:17Sizemore pushes Tigers past White Sox
Scott Sizemore slugged a pinch-hit go-ahead three-run home run in a 6-3 win over the White Sox on Saturday.
The three-run shot off rookie left-hander Chris Sale broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the eighth inning. It was Sizemore's first home run since being called up from the minors earlier this week and just his second home run of the year. He looks to have fallen behind Will Rhymes on the depth chart, but he could have something to say about the starting second base gig next season now that Carlos Guillen needed microfracture surgery on his knee.
Sun Sep 5 201022:06Tigers recall Sizemore from Triple-A Toledo
Tigers recalled 2B Scott Sizemore from Triple-A Toledo.
The 25-year-old hit an anemic .205/.282/.282 in 135 plate appearances over a few stints with the Tigers this year. Initially, he'll be used as infield depth, but the Tigers are 12 games out in the AL Central and should give Sizemore enough September at-bats that they can have as informed an opinion as possible on him heading into 2011.
Thu Jul 29 201010:20Tigers send Scott Sizemore back to Triple-A
Tigers optioned INF Scott Sizemore to Triple-A Toledo.
It's a minor surprise, but the Tigers needed to clear someone to make room for Jhonny Peralta on the 25-man roster. Sizemore was 4-for-20 (.200) with one double and one RBI during his most recent stint with the team. He could return if Will Rhymes struggles.
Wed Jul 21 201015:29Tigers call up Scott Sizemore from Triple-A
Tigers recalled 2B Scott Sizemore from Triple-A Toledo.
Wed Jul 21 201009:55Sizemore plays third base for Triple-A Toledo
Scott Sizemore was 1-for-4 with a solo home run while playing third base for Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday night.
It was Sizemore's fourth game at third base with Mud Hens, but he could become a fixture there over the next week or so as the Tigers look for a replacement for Brandon Inge. The 25-year-old is batting .329/.392/.515 with six home runs and 19 RBI in 167 at-bats since being demoted to the minors in May.

Sun May 16 201000:05Tigers option Scott Sizemore to Triple-A
Tigers optioned 2B Scott Sizemore to Triple-A Toledo.
The 25-year-old was a bit over-hyped heading into fantasy draft season but should be dropped in most leagues by now. He was batting just .206 with a .297 on-base percentage in 97 at-bats for the Tigers. Infield prospect Danny Worth was brought up in a corresponding move and should get a nice chunk of the starts at second base moving forward.
Wed May 12 201022:20Sizemore continues to scuffle
Scott Sizemore went 0-for-3 in Game 2 of the doubleheader against the Yankees on Wednesday night.
Sizemore didn't play in the first game today and then batted ninth tonight. He's hitting just .225 with one home run and zero steals on the season. Owners still hanging on to the preseason sleeper can probably do better.
Fri Apr 30 201023:54Sizemore and Boesch hit first career homers
Scott Sizemore and Brennan Boesch hit their first career home runs in an eight-run fourth-inning as part of a 10-6 win over the Angels on Friday night.
Gerald Laird also went deep in the eight-run frame. Boesch's was a grand slam. It was a big moment for Sizemore, but he's hitting a disappointing .254/.324/.365 with the lone home run and zero stolen bases. Sizemore has hit on every level, but he might be the victim of some unfair fantasy expectations.
Fri Apr 23 201023:34Sizemore 0-for-3 with three strikeouts
Scott Sizemore went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in Friday's loss to the Rangers.
Sizemore continues to bat eighth nightly and has three extra-base hits all season. He's hitting a respectable .261, but has zero steals or homers. Those who gambled on him as a sleeper can probably do better at this point.
