Blanco is out of the lineup Sunday against the Diamondbacks, MLB.com's Chris Haft reports.

Through the domino effect of Buster Posey getting a day off behind the plate, Blanco will be bounced from the lineup, as Posey handles first base while Brandon Belt covers left field. This sort of arrangement is only likely to occur on select occasions, so Blanco should still be in line for a full-time role with the Giants until Hunter Pence (forearm) returns to the lineup closer to the end of the month.

Blanco is out of the lineup Wednesday, CSN Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic reports.

While Blanco is typically in the Giants' lineup, he is in there for defense, and not much else. So far he is batting .214 with zero homers and zero steals in 28 at-bats this season. Justin Maxwell will get a rare start in the outfield in Blanco's place Wednesday.

Blanco went 1-for-4 with an RBI triple in Sunday's loss to the Padres.

Blanco has really struggled out of the gates, as Sunday's RBI was his first, and he has yet to steal a base this season. He should continue to see regular at-bats while Hunter Pence (forearm) is sidelined, but he needs to start contributing more to the offense otherwise he could lose playing time to the hotter-hitting Justin Maxwell.

Blanco is out of the Giants' lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, Amy Gutierrez of CSN Bay Area reports.

The Diamondbacks are starting another right-hander in Jeremy Hellickson, but Hellickson had a dramatic reverse platoon split last season, with right-handed batters combining for a .356/.424/.542 line against him. With that in mind, manager Bruce Bochy will go with Justin Maxwell in right over the left-handed-swinging Blanco, who is 1-for-8 with a double so far this season.

Blanco started in right field for the Giants on Opening Day in a win over the Diamondbacks with Hunter Pence (forearm) on the 15-day DL. He went 0-for-4 from the plate with one strikeout.

Pence is going to be out for a few more weeks, so it's possible that Blanco continues to see some starts in the outfield. In 146 games for the Giants last season, Blanco hit just .260 and recorded an OPS of .707.

Blanco suffered a contusion on the inside of his knee Monday but the injury is not believed to be serious, broadcaster Andrew Baggarly reports.

Blanco suffered the contusion after getting hit by a pitch in Monday's Cactus League game against the Dodgers. He should be considered day-to-day moving forward, although there doesn't seem to be any fear that his viability will be affected in the long-term.

Blanco was removed from Monday's Cactus League game after getting hit by pitch in the knee, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The extent of the injury is unknown at the time, so it's possible Blanco left just for precautionary reasons. More news should be available after the completion of the game, but consider him day-to-day until there's a further update on his status.

Updating a previous report, Blanco will likely start the season playing left field instead of right, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The news doesn't change Blanco's fantasy value going forward, as he will still see the majority of playing time while Hunter Pence (forearm) is sidelined, with Juan Perez occasionally seeing starts against lefties.

With Hunter Pence (forearm) likely not being able to suit up for Opening Day, Blanco will be asked to fill the void in right field, CSN Bay Area reports.

With Pence being unable to start the season, Blanco is slated to see regular time in the outfield, making him an intriguing short-term option for those looking for speed. In a semi-regular role last season (444 plate appearances), Blanco contributed 51 runs, five homers, and 16 stolen bases while slashing .260/.333/.374.

Blanco agreed to a two-year, $7.5 million contract with the Giants on Sunday, avoiding arbitration, the San Francisico Chronicle reports.

Blanco's final two years of arbitration are now taken care of with his new contract. The 31-year-old outfielder will earn $3.6 million in 2015 and $3.9 million in 2016, according the report. Blanco put up another consistent season in 2014, batting .260/.333/.374 with five home runs and 38 RBI. He drew a good amount of walks (41) again last season, and limited his strikeouts to just 77 over 393 at-bats. He also displayed his abilities on the base paths, nabbing double-digit bases for the fourth time in the last five seasons. There's no reason to suggest his numbers won't be similar in 2015, assuming he receives similar playing time.

Blanco is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres, according to Alex Pavlovic of the Mercury News.

Blanco will sit out Saturday after starting the last six games. Gary Brown will get the start in center field in Blanco's place.

Blanco was in the leadoff spot and should continue to hit there with Angel Pagan on the shelf again. The 30-year-old is slashing .297/.357/.453 in 64 September at-bats.

Blanco continues to rake as of late, putting together a modest seven-game hitting streak in which he is batting .360 (9-for-25) with two homers, eight RBI, and a stolen base over that span. He isn't a long-term option, but he is seeing everyday at-bats and should be owned while hot.

Blanco stayed red-hot Friday, going 1-for-2 with a home run, three RBI, and a stolen base in the 13-2 win over Milwaukee.

Blanco has been swinging a hot bat over the past week, hitting .294 (5-for-17) with a three homers, seven RBI, and a stolen base in his last five starts. This recent streak has forced the Giants to find a spot for him in the lineup everyday. Blanco is definitely worth an add until his bat cools off.

Blanco was 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in San Francisco's win over Colorado on Thursday afternoon.

He has just three dingers on the season, but two of those have come over the last four days. He's providing a little spark right now so the Giants will try to keep finding ways to get him into the lineup, but if he cools off, he'll likely return to his role as a fourth outfielder.

Blanco went 2-for-5 with a double, a pair of runs scored, and his second home run of the season against the Nationals on Sunday.

Blanco was filling in for the banged up Angel Pagan (hamstring). While this was an encouraging effort from Blanco, he will return to his role on the bench when Pagan returns to the field Monday.

Although the counting stats haven't been evident, Blanco has tallied at least one hit in six of the last eight outings, during which he hit .300 (9-for-30) with two RBI and two runs scored. Nonetheless, he'll yield center field to Juan C. Perez, while a series of moves places Brandon Belt (concussion) back at first base.
