Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Blanco (concussion) will be activated from the disabled list Friday, Andrew Baggarly of the Bay Area News Group reports.
It seems the Giants have taken a cautious approach, as Blanco went through a full workout Tuesday and was previously a candidate to be activated Wednesday or Thursday. With Hunter Pence (wrist) likely out for at least the rest of June, Blanco and Justin Maxwell figure to get most of the playing time in right field.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Gregor Blanco will be activated from the 7-day disabled list Friday after recovering from a concussion, according to the Bay Area News Group. Blanco (concussion) could return Thursday if he makes it through Wednesday's pregame activity without issue, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
It seems Blanco has almost completely shaken the cobwebs after suffering a concussion earlier this month, but the Giants want to be sure his symptoms won't resurface. Look for Blanco to take on a prominent role in right field upon his return, perhaps platooning with Justin Maxwell until Hunter Pence (wrist) is ready to go.

Blanco (concussion) will not return to the Giants' lineup Wednesday.
There was some hope that Blanco could return to action after making it through a full on-field workout Tuesday, but he remains on the 7-day DL and it's uncertain whether he'll be back for Thursday's series finale. Justin Maxwell will get another start in right field Wednesday.

Blanco (concussion) went through a full workout Tuesday and could return as early as Wednesday, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
Blanco is just waiting to be formally cleared by the team's medical staff, and he figures to return to availability either Wednesday or Thursday, barring a setback.

Manager Bruce Bochy said he's hopeful that Blanco (concussion) can return Wednesday or Thursday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Blanco has yet to receive formal clearance from a doctor to resume baseball activities, so until that comes to fruition, projecting a timetable for his return is essentially a futile effort. Bochy's optimism suggests Blanco might have noticed some improvement in his condition, but that's no guarantee that his concussion symptoms have fully dissipated.

Blanco is not expected to come off the concussion list "any time soon," Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Blanco attempted to ride a stationary bike Saturday, but began experiencing dizziness and nausea. He's apparently no longer suffering from headaches, but needs to be cleared of the aforementioned symptoms before resuming baseball activities. Until then, Norichika Aoki and Justin Maxwell should continue to see consistent reps in the outfield, with Jarrett Parker representing another candidate to see extra work.
Thu Jun 11 201517:15Blanco still experiencing concussion symptoms
Blanco is still experiencing concussion symptoms, but is no longer suffering from headaches, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
Blanco was placed on the 7-day concussion DL retroactive to June 9 after sustaining the injury on a warm-up throw last weekend in Philadelphia. The fact that he's feeling much better Thursday indicates that he could be ready to be activated from the DL on Tuesday when the Giants host the Mariners.

Blanco (concussion) was placed on the 7-day concussion DL retroactive to June 9.
Blanco has been experiencing concussion symptoms of late, which led to him being scratched from Tuesday's lineup. He'll remain out through at least next Tuesday but doesn't figure to miss extended time beyond his DL stint.
Wed Jun 10 201515:42Blanco (concussion) not in Wednesday's lineup
Blanco (concussion) is not in Wednesday's lineup.
Blanco was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to concussion symptoms, and he underwent testing Tuesday afternoon. While the results of said tests have not been released, the fact that he's out of the lineup Wednesday may be an indication that he did, in fact, sustain a concussion. Consider Blanco day-to-day until the team says otherwise.

Blanco was unavailable Tuesday because he was getting tested for a concussion, CSN Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic reports.
He was apparently hit by a warm-up throw when the Giants were in Philadelphia for last weekend's series, so the fact that he is still being "tested" suggests that he did sustain a concussion. Consider him day-to-day, but it would not be surprising if he missed at least a couple more games.
Tue Jun 9 201518:37Blanco late scratch from Giants lineup Tuesday
Blanco was a late scratch from the Giants lineup Tuesday.
There is no word as to why Blanco was scratched, but Justin Maxwell will get the start in right field instead. Blanco's status will be updated when there is official word from the team as to why he was held out of Tuesday's lineup.

Blanco started both games of Saturday's double-header against the Rockies, going 3-for-9 with two runs, a double, and his third stolen base of the season.
It is worth noting that manager Bruce Bochy picked Blanco as the only outfielder to start both games of the double-header. While Angel Pagan and Hunter Pence appear to be everyday players, it has yet to be determined how the at-bats will be split up in left field among Blanco, Nori Aoki, and Justin Maxwell. But if Saturday was any indication, it seems as though Bochy will ride the hot hand. Those in deeper leagues should take note, as Blanco has been useful when getting playing time.

Blanco got his second consecutive start at the leadoff spot and his second straight two-hit game in a 2-for-5 performance with a solo home run against the Reds on Saturday.
Blanco had another productive night scoring twice and grabbing an RBI in the game as well. It was surprising to see him start as Saturday marked the return of Hunter Pence off the DL. Look for his playing time to be limited going forward as the Giants have a crowded outfield.

Blanco started in left field for the second-consecutive game Friday, going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and a stolen base in the win over the Reds.
It appears that manager Bruce Bochy is giving his usual everyday left fielder, Nori Aoki, a couple days of rest, but Blanco has played well in his stead. This get even more crowded in San Francisco's outfield now that Hunter Pence is returning to the lineup Saturday, so it would be best to let the dust settle this weekend to see how playing time shakes up.

Blanco went 2-for-5 with a double and a run batting leadoff against the Rockies on Friday.
This was Blanco's first start since April 18. His slow start (.239, no homers, one stolen base) has caused him to lose significant playing time to the hot-hitting Justin Maxwell. Manager Bruce Bochy already stated that Maxwell would start all three games this weekend pushing Blanco into a fourth outfielder role.

Blanco will start in left field and lead off Friday against the Rockies.
Blanco will be afforded an opportunity atop the order against right-hander Eddie Butler, with Norichika Aoki sitting for the first time this season. While Blanco is just 8-for-39 (.205 average) against right-handed pitching thus far, he deserves some consideration in daily leagues.
Wed Apr 22 201519:24Blanco out of lineup Wednesday against Dodgers
Blanco is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Dodgers, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Wednesday's absence will mark Blanco's third straight. His last two have come against lefties, but Blanco also sat against a right-hander on Sunday. That was mainly the result of Buster Posey moving out to first base and Brandon Belt to left, but Blanco, who's off to a 9-for-40 start, may find himself sitting in favor of Justin Maxwell more often if he doesn't start hitting with more consistency.
Tue Apr 21 201517:38Blanco out of lineup Tuesday against Dodgers
Blanco is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers.
Blanco will sit for a second straight game, this time in favor of Justin Maxwell in right with left-hander Brett Anderson starting for Los Angeles. The 31-year-old Blanco has hit safely in five of his last six starts but is still sitting on a .225 average for the season.
