Wed Sep 15 201019:17Hensley is 3-for-3 in save opps. for Marlins
Clay Hensley is 3-for-3 in save opportunities since taking over the gig in early September from Leo Nunez.
Hensley isn't a fireballer and doesn't exactly fit the bill of a normal closer, but he's getting the job done. "We have the mentality now that [a closer] has to have 95 plus to be a closer, but I've never bought into that," manager Edwin Rodriguez said. "We have seen so many guys close in games and they don't 90 plus, but they know how to pitch. They locate it and throw strikes and maybe Hensley is one of them." Nunez, meanwhile, is in a setup role.

Fri Sep 10 201022:21Clay Hensley gets four outs for first save
Clay Hensley tossed 1 1/3 perfect innings in Washington on Friday night to earn his first career save.
As expected, struggling Leo Nunez was called upon to start the eighth inning. He promptly got just two outs while giving up three hits and an earned run. Hensley picked him up by shutting the door, perhaps giving the veteran some security. There's a chance Hensley runs with this job, so go ahead and add him in all formats.

Clay Hensley (neck) will start a minor league rehab assignment on Monday with Single-A Jupiter.
If all goes well and he's able to avoid setbacks, the Fish will activate him on July 1. Hensley has been sidelined since mid-June with a strained muscle on the left side of his neck. He will return to a 2.51 ERA.
