Jeff Francoeur singled home Melky Cabrera in the bottom of the 10th to give the Royals a walk-off win over the Rangers Thursday.
It was one of three singles Frenchy had on the night, with Cabrera and Eric Hosmer also wrapping three hits apiece. Though he's slowed down a bit lately, Francoeur has been surprisingly productive for the Royals, batting .294 with eight homers and 27 RBI on the season.

Wed May 4 201123:07Francoeur homers for third straight game
Jeff Francoeur took Jake Arrieta deep for his eighth home run of the season in the second inning of Kansas City's loss to the Orioles on Wednesday.
The homer was his third in three games. Frenchy just will not stop, as he even managed to draw a walk this evening, his eighth of the season. It's still not time to stop waiting for him to cool off, but it doesn't look like he's going to any time soon.

Tue May 3 201123:38Francoeur collects pair of hits, HR, in win
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Kansas City's win against the Orioles on Tuesday.
Frenchy's home run was his seventh of the season and pulled the Royals into a 5-5 tie. They went on to win 6-5 in 10 innings. Francoeur sports a .315/.352/.604 batting line this year. While that won't continue, fantasy owners should continue to ride his hot hand. Francoeur looks poised for a career-best season.

Jeff Francoeur extended his hitting streak to a career-high 17 games with a double in three at-bats Thursday.
Frenchy is batting .365 (23-for-63) during the streak and sports a .330/.369/.596 batting line with five homers and 19 RBI on the year. This can't possibly continue, but in the meantime, ride the wave.

Wed Apr 27 201121:57Frenchy doubles and homers in loss to Indians
Jeff Francoeur continued to rake on Wednesday night, doubling and homering in the Royals loss to Cleveland.
His big night gives him a .330 average and 13 extra-base hits on the season. He's going to cool off at some point, but if you're an owner, you have no reason to take him out of your lineup until he shows signs of slowing down.

Wed Apr 20 201123:45Francoeur homers again, now batting .333
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Kansas City's loss to the Indians on Wednesday.
The homer came with the Royals training 7-3 in the ninth inning, so it was a very important hit. With everyone waiting for him to slow down, Frenchy is now hitting .333 with three home runs and 15 RBI through his first 69 at-bats. If you're in dire need of offense in your mixed league, you have nothing to lose by taking a flier.

Sat Apr 16 201111:20Francoeur taking more, missing fewer pitches
According to BillJamesOnline.net, Jeff Francoeur is on pace to set career bests in highest percentage of pitches taken and lowest percentage of swings and misses.
He's drawn only two walks, but at least Frenchy appears to be swinging at better pitches to this point. "I would love to say that I've figured something out," Francoeur said. "But, really, it's (hitting coach Kevin Seitzer). I owe that to Seitz. There's no doubt about it. The one thing he's got me doing is looking for a certain pitch in a certain zone. And if I don't see it there, just let it go." Though Francoeur's .327/.339/.509 batting line so far is encouraging, don't be surprised if he returns to his free-swinging ways before long.

Fri Apr 15 201123:26Francoeur's big night paces Royals
Jeff Francoeur had a huge night in Kansas City's win over the Mariners on Friday, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored.
One of the offseason's most maligned signings, Francoeur has responded by posting a .327 average and 11 RBI through his first 55 at-bats. Of course, he's drawn just two walks, but if nothing else, he looks set to be an acceptable fill-in option for mixed league players.

Fri Mar 18 201119:07Francoeur now hitting .105
Jeff Francoeur went 0-for-4 against the Indians on Friday, dropping his spring average to .105.
A frustrating spring, even for a hitter that's struggled as much as Francoeur has the past few seasons. The ever-puzzling Royals should give him plenty of at-bats to start off the season, but the chances he develops into a fantasy option in mixed leagues are remote.

Wed Dec 8 201013:47Royals finalize deal with Jeff Francoeur
Royals signed OF Jeff Francoeur to a one-year contract with a mutual option for 2012.
The dream is now a reality, as Francoeur is now reunited with Dayton Moore in Kansas City. The much-maligned outfielder batted just .249/.300/.383 with 13 home runs, 65 RBI and a 683 OPS between the Mets and Royals this past season and has a modest 690 OPS since the start of the 2008 season. He doesn't turn 27 until January, so Moore obviously still think there's still a chance he could make a breakthrough. We just aren't holding our breath.
Wed Dec 8 201012:43Royals to announce deal with Francoeur
Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star confirms that the Royals will announce a deal with Jeff Francoeur on Wednesday.
We knew Royals general manager Dayton Moore just wouldn't be able to resist. Francoeur has some serious flaws with his approach at the plate, so unless he makes some significant changes, we can't see him turning things around in Kansas City. Hopefully he won't be anything more than a platoon option for the club.

Mon Dec 6 201019:23Phils not seriously considering Frenchy
According to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki, the Phillies are not seriously pursuing Jeff Francoeur.
That flies in the face of what's been reported, as it seemed as though the Philies might have been the favorites for the outfielder. Zolecki says the team is focusing more on Scott Hairston and Matt Diaz as solutions for right field. He also mentions that former Philly Aaron Rowand could be had in a trade, but the Giants would need to pick up most of his salary for that to happen.

Mon Dec 6 201013:40Phils to meet with Jeff Francoeur this week
The Phillies are expected to meet with free agent Jeff Francoeur's representatives at some point this week.
Sources told David Murphy of the Philadelphia Daily News that Phillies manager Charlie Manuel is pulling hard for the club to sign Francoeur. The outfielder has really poor plate discipline, but he's only 26 and did manage to collect 65 RBI in 454 at-bats this year. He could act as insurance if youngster Domonic Brown doesn't pan out in right field.

Mon Dec 6 201011:14Royals, Phils, Rox in on Jeff Francoeur
Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Royals, Phillies and Rockies have expressed interest in free agent Jeff Francoeur.
Francoeur would find the most playing time in Kansas City, but he may prefer to play for contending teams like the Phils and Rox. He finished the 2010 season with a poor .249/.300/.383 batting line, but he does have some power and lucked his way into 65 RBI over 454 at-bats.

Thu Nov 11 201015:48Moore mum on interest in Francoeur
Royals general manager Dayton Moore wouldn't say Wednesday whether he is interested in signing free agent outfielder Jeff Francoeur.
Francoeur became a free agent on the same day that David DeJesus was traded to the Athletics, so it appears that the fates are aligned for a reunion. Moore isn't quite ready to go there yet, though. "Jeff is a winning-type baseball player who brings a lot of energy," said Moore. "But it's like anything else. There has to be a fit. It's been a few years since we've been together, but I have a lot of respect for him and how he plays the game." Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star writes that the Royals are seeking a right-handed hitting outfielder, so if there's any match that makes sense this winter, this is it.

Wed Nov 10 201015:47Jeff Francoeur declares free agency
Jeff Francoeur has elected to become a free agent.
Francoeur cleared waivers and declined an outright assignment to the minors, so he is now free to negotiate with any team. He still fancies himself as an everyday player, but unless he makes a dramatic improvement at the plate, he'll be lucky if he finds anything other than a platoon role against lefties moving forward. The 26-year-old outfielder batted .249/.300/.383 with 13 homers, 65 RBI and a 683 OPS between the Mets and Rangers this past season.

Tue Nov 9 201008:33Jeff Francoeur to clear waivers this week?
According to Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com, Jeff Francoeur is expected to clear waivers and become a free agent by the end of this week.
Francoeur told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution this weekend that he is hoping to find a starting job for next season, but he'll have to sign with a pretty desperate club to find that. The 26-year-old outfielder batted just .249/.300/.383 with 13 homers and 65 RBI over 454 at-bats this past year.

Thu Nov 4 201009:38Francoeur wants to play every day
Jeff Francoeur told Carroll Rogers of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he wants to be an every day player next season.
"No, I want to play every day, and the Rangers know that," explained Francoeur. "That's why I said they'll have decisions to make. If not, hopefully I'll go somewhere else. I definitely want to go back, but that stuff will play itself out in the next couple months." Francoeur is already a near-lock to be non-tendered in December, so he won't get this opportunity in Texas. Or anywhere else, for that matter. Back on planet Earth, most will agree that he is best utilized against left-handed pitching. Unless Francoeur makes massive improvements at the plate, sooner or later he will just have to accept it.
