Giants designated OF Jeff Francoeur for assignment.
Frenchy struggled even more for the Giants than he did for the Royals, batting an ugly .194/.206/.226 over 22 games. It remains to be seen whether someone will give him another shot this season or if he'll just sit out the remainder of the year.

Thu Aug 1 201322:07Jeff Francoeur goes hitless for Giants
Jeff Francoeur went 0-for-3 before being removed for a pinch-hitter Thursday and is 0-for-15 in his last four games.
Francoeur isn't even capable of that new-team boost any longer; he's hitting .167 with no homers and no runs scored in 42 at-bats for the Giants. Now that the Giants are done, they should just release and give his at-bats to Roger Kieschnick and Francisco Peguero.

Jeff Francoeur singled in both Giants runs as part of a 2-for-4 night against the Cubs on Friday.
Starting left fielder Jeff Francoeur. The bizarre thing is that he got the job even though he hasn't had his typical new team boost just yet. His runs batted in were his second and third in nine games for the Giants. He's still yet to actually score a run, not that that's ever seemed to matter.

Wed Jul 24 201319:59Jeff Francoeur likely to play regularly in LF
Giants manager Bruce Bochy indicated Wednesday that Jeff Francoeur will be his regular left fielder going forward.
Francoeur is making his third straight start in left Wednesday, and two of those have come against right-handers. "(He's) a proven major league hitter, and this offense needs help," Bochy said of Francoeur. Frenchy has put up a hideous .228/.277/.362 batting line since the beginning of last season.

Giants signed OF Jeff Francoeur to a minor league contract.

Tue Jul 9 201309:05Report: Giants ink outfielder Jeff Francoeur
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Giants have signed outfielder Jeff Francoeur.
Francoeur was released by the Royals last month, but it didn't take him long to find a new home. The 29-year-old outfielder has a disappointing .208/.249/.322 batting line this season, but he owns an .809 OPS against southpaws for his career and it wouldn't be surprising for him to provide some value in a platoon role.

Fri Jul 5 201315:17Jeff Francoeur given his release
Royals released OF Jeff Francoeur.
Francoeur was designated for assignment earlier this week and cleared waivers with ease. Despite a disappointing .208/.249/.322 batting line this season, he shouldn't have trouble netting a big league contract somewhere.

Royals designated OF Jeff Francoeur for assignment.
Francoeur was hitting just .208/.249/.322 through 59 games this season, and the presence of David Lough and Jarrod Dyson forced the Royals' hand. "Frenchy" could draw some interest on waivers from clubs needing outfield help.

Fri May 31 201304:21Jeff Francoeur homers in Royals' win
Jeff Francoeur homered and Eric Hosmer delivered a two-run double in the top of the ninth as the Royals beat the Cardinals 4-2 on Thursday.
Those three runs in the ninth came prior to a 4 1/2-hour rain delay. The umps had no real choice but to wait it out because the rules concerning suspended games would have taken the Royals' runs off the board. After play resumed just after 3 a.m. CDT, the Cardinals escaped a bases-loaded jam to close out the top of the ninth and then went down in order in the bottom of the inning. Francoeur's game-tying homer off Mitchell Boggs was just his second of the year, with the other coming back on April 10. He was hitting .156 with three RBI in 64 at-bats this month.

Fri May 10 201316:25Francoeur not in Friday's lineup
Jeff Francoeur is not in Friday's lineup against the Yankees.
Francoeur is sitting again with a right-hander on the hill, so it appears that he is being platooned. Jarrod Dyson is playing center field Friday while Lorenzo Cain is in right field. If the arrangement sticks, Dyson's speed should provide value in mixed fantasy leagues.

Wed May 8 201315:56Jeff Francoeur not in Wednesday's lineup
Jeff Francoeur is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Orioles.
Lorenzo Cain will make the start in right field while Jarrod Dyson will play center field. Francoeur is hitting just .234/.274/.336 with one homer and a .611 OPS through 28 games this season and is at risk of losing playing time moving forward.

Thu Mar 7 201311:42Francoeur to DH on Thu. due to hip soreness
Jeff Francoeur will serve as the designated hitter in Thursday's Cactus League game due to minor hip soreness.
Francoeur still feels healthy enough to be in the lineup, so it doesn't sound like a big deal. He should return to the field within the next couple of days.

Wed Dec 12 201219:21Jeff Francoeur will start in RF
Royals general manager Dayton Moore said that Jeff Francoeur is slated to be the team's starting right fielder again in 2013.
They don't have many good options after trading Wil Myers to the Rays. Francoeur was a surprisingly good fantasy producer in 2011 when he batted .285 while notching a 20/20 campaign. He fell off the cliff in 2012, hitting just .235 with a .287 OBP and 16 homers, but the Royals are confident he can bounce back. We're not so sure.

Sun Aug 5 201218:11Francoeur 'walks off' Royals
Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and "walkoff" reached on error in Sunday's 7-6, 10-inning win over the Rangers.
Francoeur "plated" Eric Hosmer in the 10th after rookie Mike Olt made a throwing error to first. Frenchy's "heroics" will undoubtedly buy him another two weeks in the Royals outfield. Now batting .238/.277/.372 on the year, Francoeur has just 12 hits in 18 games since the All-Star break.

Sun Aug 5 201210:47Francoeur, Dyson to platoon
Royals manager Ned Yost indicated Saturday that Jeff Francoeur and Jarrod Dyson will be used as a platoon for the time being.
They've been playing different positions, as Dyson pushes Lorenzo Cain to right field when he starts, but the bottom line is that Frenchy will for the most part play only against left-handers going forward. "We're just taking opportunities now, going with the hot hand in Dyson," Yost said. "Now we've got lefties coming up after that, and Frenchy will be in three out of the next four days at least, if not four of the next four." Dyson is batting .455 with three stolen bases over his last 10 games and is a worthy deep league add due to his speed.
