Wed Aug 14 201315:27Gose likely to be called up by Blue Jays
Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos suggested Wednesday that the team will call up outfielder Anthony Gose within the next couple of days.
Not a big surprise now that Colby Rasmus (oblique) is on the disabled list. Gose has excellent speed, but he's batting just .239/.312/.337 through 435 plate appearances this season in Triple-A.

Fri Jun 21 201310:34Anthony Gose in doghouse at Triple-A
Anthony Gose was benched at Triple-A Buffalo Thursday due to a mental error he made during Wednesday's game.
Gose failed to field a ball cleanly in center field in the ninth inning of a one-run game and then took his time getting the ball back in, letting the winning run score from first base. "For the life of me, I've had some players as a manager who have really been challenging," Bisons manager Marty Brown said. "Anthony is one of the most talented players I've had as a manager. But sometimes it's difficult because he doesn't apply that. It's nothing we can't work through."

Blue Jays optioned OF Anthony Gose to Triple-A Buffalo.

Mon May 20 201310:40Anthony Gose will not be an everyday player
Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Monday that Anthony Gose will not be an everyday player.
The talented 22-year-old outfielder was promoted from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday morning but isn't likely to hold much value in standard mixed fantasy leagues. Gibbons said Gose will "help out on defense" and as a pinch-runner. He won't make very many starts.

Mon May 20 201309:31Blue Jays call up Anthony Gose from Triple-A
Blue Jays recalled OF Anthony Gose from Triple-A Buffalo.
Gose batted just .223/.303/.319 in 189 plate appearances last season with Toronto. The talented 22-year-old has good speed and some raw power, but he is not a polished enough hitter at this point to make a big impact in the major leagues. He can be ignored in most mixed formats.

Mon Mar 25 201309:11Blue Jays option OF Anthony Gose to AAA
Blue Jays optioned OF Anthony Gose to Triple-A Buffalo.
Gose posted a promising .279/.396/.419 batting line across 54 plate appearances this spring in the Grapefruit League, but the Blue Jays want him getting regular playing time and that would not have been available to the 22-year-old outfielder at the major league level.

Fri Mar 8 201315:41Anthony Gose homers, steals two bases
Anthony Gose went 3-for-4 with a homer, two steals and four runs scored in the Blue Jays' 7-1 win over a Braves split-squad Friday.
Gose was rumored to be included in the R.A. Dickey trade, and had he been shipped to the Mets, he'd likely open the year as a starting center fielder. Since he's still in Toronto, he's destined for more Triple-A time initially. Last year's audition suggested he needed more seasoning anyway.

Sat Dec 15 201211:45Report: Gose not part of Dickey trade talks
Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports Anthony Gose is not part of the trade talks for R.A. Dickey.
Gose had been rumored to be in the Jays' deal for Dickey, but there haven't been any confirmed players involved other than Travis d'Arnaud. CBS Sports' Jon Heyman speculates that the Mets could be targeting prospect right-hander Danny Barnes in a return package.

Tue Sep 4 201215:54Blue Jays recall Anthony Gose from Triple-A
Blue Jays recalled OF Anthony Gose from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Gose struggled during his first stint in the big leagues, batting just .183 with 36 strikeouts in 82 at-bats, but he managed to swipe 10 bases in 12 attempts. We still think he needs more seasoning, but fantasy owners in need for stolen bases should pay attention.

Sun Aug 5 201219:45Anthony Gose picks up two hits in win
Anthony Gose went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in Sunday's win over the Athletics.
After a shaky start to his major league career, Gose is coming on a little. The 2008 second-round pick is now 6-for-20 (.300) over his last five games. He's also cut down on his troublesome strikeouts, recording only four in his last four games. If Gose can get on base, there's a ton of steals upside here.

Sun Jul 29 201216:04Anthony Gose singles, steals base
Anthony Gose singled and stole a base in Sunday's loss to the Tigers.
He also struck out twice, however, giving him 11 strikeouts through his first 26 MLB at-bats. Gose is a raw, high-ceilinged talent, but his .292/.375/.432 Pacific Coast League slash suggested he wasn't ready to make an impact in mixed leagues this season, and that's certainly been the case thus far. He's hitting .192/.250/.231 through eight games and 28 plate appearances.

Tue Jul 17 201222:40Gose picks up first MLB hit in loss to Yanks
With two-outs in the ninth inning on Tuesday, Anthony Gose reached on a bunt single back to Chad Qualls, picking up the first hit of his MLB career.
Gose entered the game as a pinch-hitter for Ben Francisco in the seventh inning, and grounded out to the shortstop. The 21-year-old prospect was hitting .292/.375/.432 with five homers and 29 steals in 92 games at Triple-A, and should make an immediate impact in fantasy leagues with Jose Bautista on the DL. He's likely to play everyday against right-handed pitching, and should be owned in all AL-only and deeper mixed leagues.

Tue Jul 17 201212:05Blue Jays call up top prospect Anthony Gose
Blue Jays purchased the contract of OF Anthony Gose from Triple-A Las Vegas.
He'll replace the injured Jose Bautista (wrist) on the active roster. Gose, 21, was hitting .292/.375/.432 with five home runs, 18 doubles, 10 triples, 41 RBI, 29 stolen bases and an .808 OPS in 92 games at the Triple-A level this year and is considered a plus-defender. The Jays aren't calling him up to sit on the bench, so he figures to play regularly against right-handed pitching at the very least. Strikeouts have been an issue at times, but the speedy outfielder should be owned in AL-only and deeper mixed leagues.

Mon Jul 16 201223:19Jays to call up Gose if Bautista lands on DL
Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca was told by a source that Blue Jays prospect outfielder will indeed be called up from Triple-A Las Vegas if Jose Bautista (wrist) is placed on the disabled list.
The Blue Jays already pulled Gose from Monday's game in anticipation of a roster move. The 21-year-old entered play Monday hitting .293/.376/.434 with five home runs, 10 triples, 18 doubles, 41 RBI, 29 stolen bases and an .810 OPS in 91 games at the Triple-A level this season and is considered a plus-defender. He's worth stashing in AL-only leagues and even deeper mixed formats.

Thu Mar 29 201216:41Anthony Gose steals four bases
Despite failing to get a hit, Anthony Gose stole four bases and scored twice Thursday in the Jays' 3-2 win over the Red Sox.
The speedy Gose reached on a groundout in the third, an error in the sixth and a walk in the eighth. He has both seven hits and seven steals in his 19 games this spring. The plan is for him to spend most of this season in the minors, but he could wreak some havoc as a pinch-runner in September.

Sun Feb 26 201220:10OF Gose sidelined Sunday with hand blister
Anthony Gose was sidelined Sunday with a blister on his right hand.
Toronto's No. 2 prospect, according to MLB.com, was taped up and won't miss any meaningful work. Gose will be fantasy relevant in time, because of his speed, but is a few years away from meaningful at-bats.

Mon Jun 13 201111:51Gose suspended three games
Blue Jays outfield prospect Anthony Gose was suspended three games for an incident at Double-A.
According to John Lott of the National Post, Gose "jawed with" and then pushed a catcher in a confrontation at home plate. The 20-year-old speedster was acquired from the Astros last summer in a big swap for Houston's current starting first baseman, Brett Wallace, but is batting just .249/.346/.369 in 61 games at Double-A New Hampshire. He does have 29 steals in 34 attempts.

Sun Mar 20 201110:33Anthony Gose among Jays' cuts
Blue Jays reassigned OF Anthony Gose and C Travis d'Arnaud to minor league camp.
Both prospects have bright futures, but they're simply not ready yet, as neither have played about A-ball. They could both start the year at Double-A New Hampshire.
