Sun Jun 19 201119:00Dioner Navarro wins game for Dodgers
Dioner Navarro beat the Astros Sunday with a solo homer off Wilton Lopez in the eighth inning.
The jack gave the Dodgers a 1-0 which they were able to protect. It's a much-needed bright spot for Navarro, who came into today batting .156 with one homer as Rod Barajas' backup. Regardless, fantasy owners can safely ignore.

Dodgers placed C Dioner Navarro on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 22, with a right oblique strain.
Navarro, who suffered the injury last week, is already doing catching exercises and batting from the right side of the plate. He's probably a couple of weeks away. A.J. Ellis and Hector Gimenez both made the Opening Day roster and will back up Rod Barajas.

Fri Mar 25 201113:37Dodgers' Navarro has strained right oblique
Dioner Navarro has been diagnosed with a strained right oblique and is likely to miss Opening Day.
Navarro had to be scratched from the Dodgers' Cactus League game against the Rockies on Thursday and an MRI taken Friday morning showed the strain. Oblique injuries can take up to a month to recover from and can be especially tough on catchers. The Dodgers may need to begin a search for a temporary backup.

Tue Dec 14 201017:07Dodgers finalize deal with Dioner Navarro
Dodgers signed C Dioner Navarro to a one-year contract.
Terms weren't disclosed, but the deal is reportedly for $1 million. This is actually Navarro's second go-around with the Dodgers, as he spent parts of 2005 and 2006 there after coming over in the Shawn Green trade. Navarro, who turns 27 in February, batted just .194/.270/.258 with one home run and seven RBI over 142 plate appearances with the Rays this past season. He is expected to share duties behind the plate with Rod Barajas.
Wed Dec 8 201019:12Report: Navarro, LA agree to 1-yr, $1M deal
Dioner Navarro's one-year deal with the Dodgers is worth $1 million.
Seems fair to us. Navarro was non-tendered by the Rays earlier this month after earning $2.1 million in 2010 while batting just .194/.270/.258 with one home run and seven RBI over 124 at-bats. History shows that he isn't as bad as he played this past season and he should be a fine platoon mate with Rob Barajas in Los Angeles next season.

Wed Dec 8 201016:19Dodgers nearing one-year deal with Navarro
Tony Jackson of ESPN Los Angeles reports that the Dodgers are nearing a one-year deal with free agent catcher Dioner Navarro.
Navarro was non-tendered by the Rays earlier this month after turning in a highly disappointing .194/.270/.258 batting line with one home run and seven RBI over 124 at-bats in 2010. But he's experienced at least some big league success and is likely to split time behind the plate with Rob Barajas in Los Angeles next season. The two can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Thu Dec 2 201022:45Rays non-tender Dioner Navarro
Rays non-tendered C Dioner Navarro.
The easiest call of them all, as Navarro left the team after he was informed that he wouldn't be on the team's postseason roster. He probably would have been non-tendered, anyway, as he earned $2.1 million this past season while batting just .194/.270/.258 with one home run and seven RBI over 124 at-bats.
Thu Oct 7 201009:34Navarro leaves Rays after not making roster
Dioner Navarro left the team after being told that he was not going to be a part of the Rays' ALDS roster.
That's a real team player. The Rays wanted him to remain with the team and keep working out so he'd be in shape in the event of an injury, however Navarro declined. He was likely to be non-tendered this winter, anyway, but his career in Tampa Bay is effectively over. Nevin Ashley has joined the team and would replace John Jaso or Kelly Shoppach on the roster if there is a sudden injury.

Thu Jun 24 201015:31Rays option Navarro to Triple-A
Rays optioned C Dioner Navarro to Triple-A Durham.
Navarro has clearly fallen behind John Jaso on the depth chart, so it was just a matter of time. The 26-year-old backstop is batting just .210/.291/.286 with one home run and seven RBI over 105 at-bats this season.

Thu Apr 29 201020:29Navarro returns from two-game suspension
Dioner Navarro returned from his two-game suspension Thursday, but did not start at catcher against the Rays.
John Jaso drew the nod at backstop. "Navvy's ready to go tonight. I just chose to go with Jaso," Rays manager Joe Maddon said. "He's been hot, quite frankly. I just cannot walk away from Jaso right now. I told Navvy that straight-up, and he understood it. He's a great team player." Navarro was suspended two games earlier this week for bumping home plate umpire Dan Bellino.

Tue Apr 27 201011:10Rays' Navarro suspended two games by MLB
Major League Baseball has suspended catcher Dioner Navarro two games for bumping home plate umpire Dan Bellino on Friday night.
It doesn't sound like Navarro will appeal. He was apologetic after Friday's game. "After he threw me out, I just lost my temper," said the 26-year-old catcher. "I've got to keep calm, and I've got to know better than that. It was my fault, and we'll see what happens."

Sat Apr 24 201016:18Navarro scratched with lower leg soreness
Dioner Navarro was scratched Saturday with lower leg soreness.
Navarro was kicked out of Friday's game for arguing balls and strikes, so he's not exactly having the best weekend. John Jaso is behind the plate.

Fri Apr 23 201021:15Navarro ejected from Friday's game
Dioner Navarro was ejected from Friday's game against the Blue Jays for arguing balls and strikes.
He even bumped the home plate umpire Dan Bellino, so we'll probably see a suspension here. Not smart. He was replaced in the lineup by John Jaso.
