Josh Beckett gave up seven runs on six hits over four innings of work Sunday against the Athletics.
Beckett was scratched from his start Monday with flu-like symptoms, so he may not have been at full strength. He allowed two home runs and three walks before being taken out. It was his only bad start of the spring, as he entered the game with a 0.96 ERA. The Dodgers need Beckett to get back on track with Zack Greinke (elbow) questionable for the start of the season.

Mon Mar 18 201312:50Beckett scratched Tuesday with the flu
Josh Beckett was scratched from a scheduled Cactus League start Monday because of the flu.
Beckett is going to throw a simulated game instead to stay on track with his spring throwing program. He should be over his flu symptoms by his next Cactus start.

Tue Mar 12 201323:47Josh Beckett goes 4 1/3 strong
Josh Beckett held the Reds to one run over 4 1/3 innings Tuesday.
He allowed just two hits, walked two and struck out five, with the lone blemish coming in the form of a Shin-Soo Choo solo homer. Beckett has now permitted just one run over 9 1/3 frames this spring, putting up an 11/3 K/BB ratio.

Tue Feb 26 201319:22Josh Beckett tosses two scoreless
Josh Beckett blanked the Giants over two innings in Tuesday's 8-8 Cactus League tie.
He allowed one hit and one walk while recording three strikeouts. Beckett posted a 2.93 ERA in seven starts for the Dodgers down the stretch last season and is looking for a bounce-back year in his first full campaign back in the National League.

Sun Sep 30 201219:52Josh Beckett earns win over Rockies
Josh Beckett pitched six innings of one-run ball Sunday in defeating the Rockies.
Andrew Brown homered in the fourth, but Beckett was able to work around the other five hits and three walks. He ends the regular season having gone 2-3 with a 2.93 ERA in seven starts for the Dodgers. The team scored a total of three runs in his last three losses. Whether Beckett will get a chance to keep it going into the postseason is still to be determined, but it doesn't look good with the Dodgers two behind the Cardinals with three to play.

Wed Sep 26 201201:29Josh Beckett pitches well in loss to Padres
Josh Beckett pitched well in Tuesday's loss to the Padres, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits over his 5 2/3 innings.
Beckett racked up seven strikeouts on the evening while walking two. Unfortunately for him, the strong effort was wasted as the Dodger offense wasn't able to provide any type of support behind him. He's now 1-3 with a 3.16 ERA and 34/11 K/BB ratio through 37 innings in his six starts. He'll make his final start of the season on Sunday when he does battle against the Rockies at home.

Wed Sep 19 201223:31Josh Beckett goes 7 1/3 in no-decision
Josh Beckett took a no-decision in Wednesday's 7-6 win over the Nationals, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits in 7 1/3 innings.
Beckett entered the eighth inning nursing a shutout, but served up a leadoff home run to Michael Morse, and was pulled after allowing four of five batters to reach base. Nevertheless, the outing was his longest since relocating to Los Angeles. The quality effort was just his second in five starts since coming over from the American League. Beckett will get the Padres in San Diego next Tuesday.

Sun Sep 16 201214:11Beckett would be No. 1 starter if no Kershaw
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said he would likely consider Josh Beckett his No. 1 starter if Clayton Kershaw (hip) can't return this season.
It's not particularly surprising, but it does highlight how incredibly important Kershaw is for the Dodgers. Beckett has posted a 3.38 ERA in four starts since joining the Dodgers.

Fri Sep 14 201201:20Josh Beckett holds Cardinals to one run
Josh Beckett was involved in the decision Thursday after allowing one run in 5 1/3 innings against the Cardinals.
Beckett pitched well enough, but he suffered the indignity of getting thrown out by Carlos Beltran when he slapped an apparent single into right field in the third. Beckett remains 1-2 with a 4.94 ERA since joining the Dodgers.

Sat Sep 8 201201:44Josh Beckett falls to 1-2 as a Dodger
Josh Beckett fell to 1-2 as a Dodger in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Giants, allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks in 6 1/3 innings of work.
He notched three strikeouts. Beckett held the Giants to two runs through six innings, but loaded the bases with just one out in the sixth before surrendering a two-run single to Marco Scutaro. In Beckett's defense, one of his seventh-inning baserunners came via an intentional walk. Nevertheless, Boston's favorite scapegoat has now been quality in just one of three outings as a Dodger. He'll look for a better night against the Cardinals at home next Thursday.

Sun Sep 2 201202:04Josh Beckett records first win for Dodgers
Josh Beckett picked up his first win for the Dodgers after allowing one run in 6 2/3 innings and striking out nine on Saturday night.
That's more like it. Justin Upton homered in the third inning, but Beckett worked around the other five hits he allowed. The nine strikeouts matched the season high he established in an outing against the Mariners on May 15, and the one walk he issued was his low total since June 11.

Mon Aug 27 201223:51Josh Beckett struggles in Dodgers' debut
Josh Beckett was unimpressive in his Dodgers' debut Monday, giving up three runs on seven hits and three walks over 5 2/3 innings.
Beckett did strike out six, but he served up a mammoth homer to Tyler Colvin and failed in an attempt for his first quality start since mid-July. We're tempted to give him a bit of a pass since the start came in Coors Field, though the lineup the Rockies are trotting out there these days is pretty pathetic. Beckett faces the D'Backs next.

Sat Aug 25 201218:06Beckett will make Dodgers debut on Monday
Josh Beckett will make his first start as a member of the Dodgers on Monday against the Rockies in Colorado.
Joe Blanton was initially scheduled to pitch on Monday but will get pushed back one game. With the uncertainty surrounding the injury to Chad Billingsley, the Dodgers may not need to bump anyone from the rotation to add Beckett. He returns to the National League having posted a 5-11 record, 5.23 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 94/38 K/BB ratio over 127 1/3 innings this season for Boston.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports Josh Beckett has waived his no trade rights in order for the proposed trade between the Red Sox and Dodgers to go through.
Beckett and Carl Crawford both had no-trade rights, which were waived. According to Rosenthal, a deal between the sides is "pretty much done," and should be made official within the next 24 hours. The Dodgers are expected to pick up nearly all of the remaining salaries on Beckett, Crawford, Adrian Gonzalez, and Nick Punto.

Fri Aug 24 201222:59Bobby V expects Beckett to make start Sat.
Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine expects Josh Beckett to make his next scheduled start Saturday against the Royals.
Beckett is still technically a member of the Red Sox, so we wouldn't expect him to say anything different. A deal is reportedly in place that will send Beckett, Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto to the Dodgers, but there are still some hurdles to cross before it becomes official.

Fri Aug 24 201212:46Trading Beckett 'clearly' priority for Sawx
According to ESPN's Jayson Stark, trading Josh Beckett will be "clearly the No. 1 item" on Boston's offseason agenda after deciding on manager Bobby Valentine's future.
Beckett is becoming a bigger headache than he's worth for the Sox, but is owed $31.5 million through 2014, and has lost nearly two MPH off his fastball this season. If Beckett is indeed dealt this winter, a return to the National League would likely serve him well.

Thu Aug 23 201209:44Red Sox place Beckett on trade waivers
The Red Sox placed Josh Beckett on trade waivers.
It's merely a procedural move this time of year. Beckett is owed $15.75 million in 2013 and another $15.75 million in 2014, so he is highly doubtful to be claimed.

Mon Aug 20 201218:35Red Sox fire pitching coach Bob McClure
Red Sox fired pitching coach Bob McClure.
McClure, who was in his first year as pitching coach, takes the fall for a pitching staff which ranks 23rd in the majors with a 4.30 ERA. Randy Niemann, the assistant pitching coach, will serve as interim pitching coach for the rest of the season.

Sun Aug 19 201223:01Josh Beckett gives up four runs in loss
Josh Beckett lost after allowing four runs in six innings Sunday night versus the Yankees.
With his velocity down, Beckett just isn't a match for the Bombers right now. He's allowed 10 runs in 11 innings against the Yankees this season, and he's 5-11 with a 5.23 ERA overall. He's surrendered seven homers in 16 1/3 innings during the month of August after going the entire months of June and July (47 2/3 innings total) without ever allowing one.

Wed Aug 8 201217:22Josh Beckett tagged for eight runs
Returning from back spasms, Josh Beckett was lit up for eight runs in five-plus innings by the Rangers on Wednesday.
Bobby Valentine may well have lost this one by little Beckett go as long as he did. Beckett did bounce back after a three-run first, throwing three scoreless innings, but he then gave up three runs in the fifth. Valentine sent him back out for the sixth anyway, and he was charged with two more runs then.
