Shane Victorino (hamstring) was scratched from a rehab game with Triple-A Pawtucket Thursday due to "overall general stiffness," according to Red Sox manager John Farrell.
"Not one specific area, so hamstring, lower back, it's all in there," Farrell said. "I can't say it was a setback, but we felt like he needed to get a couple days of (treatment) in." Farrell might not want to call it a setback, but Victorino surely won't return on Sunday or Monday now as originally hoped. The skipper did say that he still expected Victorino to rejoin the Red Sox sometime during their West Coast road trip, which concludes next Wednesday. Victorino is expected back in Pawtucket's lineup Saturday.

The Red Sox will begin a four-game series against the Athletics on Friday before playing the Mariners for three beginning next Monday. Victorino is expected to remain with Triple-A Pawtucket through Friday, so a return this weekend is possible. Still, the Red Sox could play it safe and bring him back one week from now.
