Tue Jul 15 201411:06Heat renounce rights to Udonis Haslem
The Miami Heat officially renounced their rights to Udonis Haslem on Monday.
Falling into the Heat's two-year plan, Haslem looks primed to re-join the team on a $2.7 room mid-level exception. Haslem only averaged 3.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in 46 games last season, so it goes without saying that the 34-year-old's fantasy value is essentially non-existent at this point in his career.

Sat Jun 28 201410:56Udonis Haslem opts out of contract with Miami
Udonis Haslem has opted out of his contract and will become a free agent.
He is almost a lock to get a multiple-year deal with the Heat. Haslem, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh all have the same agent and are likely doing this to help the Heat have some flexibility during free agent. In other words, U.D. opting out is just a formality and he'll be sporting No. 40 next season. He won't have much fantasy value, though.

Tue Jun 24 201412:57Udonis Haslem could play role in Big 3 future
Udonis Haslem's decision on his player option could influence the futures of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh in Miami.
Haslem has a $4.62 million player option for 2014-15 and has yet to inform the Heat on whether or not he'll decide to pick up that option. If Haslem decides to pick up his option, it will hinder the Heat's salary cap capabilities and would limit the caliber of fourth player the team would like to add to the "Big 3" of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. This situation is about as fluid as can be with James opting out of his contract on Tuesday and Bosh and Wade still deciding on their player options, but Haslem's decision could go a long way towards keeping the Big 3 together or potentially lead to the end of an era in Miami.

Sat Jun 14 201417:48Udonis Haslem time for Game 5?
Coach Erik Spoelstra said Udonis Haslem could "possibly" play more in Game 5 on Sunday.
"He's on my mind," Spoelstra said. "These are the types of games where he's proven himself." The Heat seem to be over the idea of playing Rashard Lewis in the starting lineup and went with Ray Allen to start the second half on Thursday. The Spurs have whipped the Heat inside, so the extra size makes sense.

Tue May 20 201423:27Udonis Haslem quiet in start for Heat
Udonis Haslem started over Shane Battier on Tuesday, but had just seven points and three rebounds in 19 minutes.
Chris Andersen was a +25 off the bench tonight and it wouldn't be all that surprising to see him replace Haslem as a starter at some point. Birdman had three points and 12 rebounds, while Norris Cole had 11 points, two assists and two 3-pointers off the bench, and looks like a better option at point guard for the Heat. They took homecourt advantage with tonight's win and will get to rest for three days before Game 3 in Miami on Saturday.

Tue May 20 201419:51Haslem to start over Battier in Game 2
Udonis Haslem will start over Shane Battier for the Heat in Tuesday's Game 2 against the Pacers.
No surprises here, as Battier was highly ineffective in Game 1, while the Heat were abused inside and on the glass. Haslem isn't really a game changer, but the move makes a lot of sense for the Heat, who will try to even things out on the glass in Game 2.

Tue May 20 201412:07Udonis Haslem could start Game 2 on Tuesday
Udonis Haslem could be in line to start Game 2 against the Pacers on Tuesday night.
Haslem and Heat coach Erik Spoelstra wouldn't divulge if the veteran forward would be starting on Tuesday night, but did add that a good defensive start is an important factor. Haslem started the second half of Sunday's Game 1 loss in place of Shane Battier and would bring a physical post presence that the Heat desperately need against Roy Hibbert. We'll update this situation as we here more, but Haslem sounds like he's ready to start if his name is called, "Hopefully I get the opportunity to bring a little more physicality to our lineup."

Sun May 18 201416:53Haslem starts second half, Battier to bench
Udonis Haslem started the second half of Game 1 vs. the Pacers on Sunday.
The Pacers had one of their best offensive halves in a long time, so coach Erik Spoelstra decided to shake things up. In fact, Indiana had a ridiculous effective field goal percentage of 67.6 in the first half, which would be on pace to break their season high in a game of 64.9. Shane Battier moved back to the bench.

Sat Apr 12 201400:36Haslem (illness) nears double-double
Udonis Haslem (illness) neared a double-double in Friday's win over the Pacers, scoring 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting with nine rebounds and one steal in 31 minutes.
If the Heat continue to roll with Haslem in order to ready him for the playoffs, he has some mild appeal if you're hunting points and boards.

Fri Apr 11 201411:17Udonis Haslem expected to play against IND
Udonis Haslem (illness) is expected to play in Friday's game against the Pacers.
Haslem sat out Tuesday and Wednesday. He'll likely return to his starting power forward role in this showdown of Eastern Conference powers. The Heat trail the Pacers by just a half-game for the No. 1 seed.

Wed Apr 9 201418:22Udonis Haslem will not play on Wednesday
Udonis Haslem (illness) did not travel for Wednesday's game vs. the Grizzlies.
He missed Tuesday vs. the Nets and he will miss his second straight game. The Heat went with a smaller lineup on Tuesday and will likely do so again with Shane Battier in the starting lineup.

Tue Apr 8 201419:39Udonis Haslem out Tuesday w/ stomach virus
Udonis Haslem won't play on Tuesday due to a stomach virus, shifting Shane Battier into the starting lineup.
Haslem started the past six games and seems like Miami's preferred starting PF for the playoffs. The impact of his absence is somewhat lessened by the fact that Chris Andersen (back) will be active for Tuesday's game vs. Brooklyn.

Thu Apr 3 201417:13Udonis Haslem will start again vs. Wolves
Udonis Haslem will start vs. the Wolves on Friday.
He started alongside Chris Bosh on Wednesday and it seems he'll continue to start as long as Greg Oden (back) remains on the sidelines. He's averaging a mere 5.3 points per game in his 12 starts this season, unfortunately, which crystallizes his lack of fantasy appeal.

Fri Mar 28 201422:15Haslem scores season-high 17 points
Udonis Haslem started and scored a season-high 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting with five rebounds and one block in Friday's blowout win over the Pistons.
The Heat are going to be a mess over the next few weeks and owners will want to watch the injury report closely. We wouldn't advise a pickup of Haslem for anything but very deep league spot duty when it's known he'll get heavy run. Chris Andersen has been paying dividends more or less lately and posted 13 points, six boards, one steal and hit 5-of-6 shots from the line.

Fri Mar 28 201418:08Udonis Haslem will start at center
Udonis Haslem will start in place of Greg Oden (back) on Friday vs. the Pistons.
He's turned in a couple good games and the Pistons actually aren't great on defense even with their size. Haslem is a risky spot-start guy in deeper leagues.

Sat Mar 22 201418:46Udonis Haslem will start vs. the Pelicans
Udonis Haslem will start at center against the Pelicans on Saturday in place of Greg Oden (rest).
It will be his second start in his last three games. His last start was a prosperous one with a season-high 14 points, but that was also because LeBron James did not play in that game. Haslem is a desperation play in daily formats.

Wed Mar 19 201422:53Udonis Haslem breaks out with 14 points
Udonis Haslem was in the starting lineup with LeBron James and Greg Oden in street clothes on Wednesday and hit 7-of-8 shots for 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and two blocks in a loss to the Celtics.
Even with James out this was tough to see coming, as he had played a total of 26 minutes in the entire month of March coming in.

Wed Mar 19 201418:07Udonis Haslem will start vs. the Celtics
Udonis Haslem will get the start against the Celtics on Wednesday.
Greg Oden is resting on the second half of a back-to-back set which allows Haslem to get the seventh start of the season. He played just 16.0 minutes per game in his previous six starts, so he's not an option in most fantasy leagues.

Thu Nov 28 201312:02Udonis Haslem out of lineup for 3rd straight
Udonis Haslem received his third straight "DNP-CD" in Wednesday's win over Cleveland.
Haslem was expected to rejoin the rotation with Shane Battier missing the game with the flu, but was usurped by Rashard Lewis and Michael Beasley. Haslem didn't have much fantasy value even when he was part of the Heat's rotation, and certainly doesn't have any now that he is seemingly buried on Erik Spoelstra's bench.

Tue Nov 19 201323:51Udonis Haslem fouls out in eight minutes
Udonis Haslem played through a back injury and had seven points and two rebounds on Tuesday, but fouled out in just eight minutes of action.
Haslem doesn't do enough to offer much fantasy value in any league, as was evidenced tonight.
