Mon Dec 26 201113:40Pietrus could start for Celtics on Tuesday
Mickael Pietrus is taking his physical on Monday and could start Tuesday's game vs. the Heat, contrary to what Celtics GM Danny Ainge had said.
Doc Rivers basically said he'll throw Pietrus into the lineup even with zero practices, and Boston desperately needs him vs. LeBron James and co., especially with Paul Pierce still hobbled by a bruised heel.

Mon Dec 26 201109:56Pietrus unlikely to play until Friday
Mickael Pietrus isn't expected to make his Celtics' debut until Friday in Boston, according to PR director Jeff Twiss.
The message came from GM Danny Ainge, so we're not expecting to see Pietrus in uniform for the next two road games. It's a tough break for Boston, particularly if Paul Pierce misses more games.

Sat Dec 24 201120:40Pietrus accepts one-year minimum w/ Celtics
Mickael Pietrus has officially accepted a one-year deal with the Celtics for the veterans' minimum.
Pietrus will take a physical on Monday and join the team on Tuesday. He said he's received a "clean bill of health" on his ailing knee and should be ready to slide into the rotation right away, backing up Paul Pierce at SF.

Sat Dec 24 201118:41Mickael Pietrus says he's joining Celtics
G/F Mickael Pietrus said on Twitter Saturday that he's decided to join the Celtics.
He's coming off knee surgery and may not be ready to play for a couple weeks, but should also be a nice addition for the Celtics, who lost Jeff Green for the season due to heart surgery. Pietrus is not a must-own fantasy player, but owners in deeper leagues will want to take notice. Especially if Paul Pierce's heel injury continues to linger.

Sat Dec 24 201110:02Pietrus (knee) out at least two more weeks
Mickael Pietrus (knee) won't be fully healthy for another two weeks.
Pietrus could still be claimed off waivers by 6pm on Saturday, but if not he's expected to accept a minimum offer from the Celtics. He is a clear upgrade over Sasha Pavlovic but wouldn't have reliable value unless Paul Pierce (heel) misses significant time.

Fri Dec 23 201112:34Report: Celtics still favorite for Pietrus
David Aldridge reports that the Celtics are still considered the favorites to land the recently waived Mickael Pietrus.
It was reported that Pietrus was leaning toward the Celtics as long as he cleared waivers, which he should do without an issue. The swingman won't clear until Saturday, so we'll have to wait a little while longer for an official resolution.

Thu Dec 22 201119:10Sun no more: Pietrus waived
In a somewhat surprising move the Phoenix Suns waived Mickael Pietrus on Friday.
Pietrus was waived, not amnestied, and has a guaranteed salary of $5.3 million this season, and although he had been playing through a knee injury, this certainly comes as a surprise. The Suns had been trying to trade Pietrus to the Raptors earlier in the month, so perhaps Toronto will come up with a creative way to acquire him now that Phoenix has let him go.

Mon Dec 19 201110:27Pietrus (knee) still awaiting MRI results
Mickael Pietrus (knee) was scheduled to have an MRI in Phoenix on Saturday, but the results aren't yet known.
Pietrus had right knee surgery in July and clearly is still having issues, as the injury recently derailed a potential trade to the Raptors. He's owed $5.3 million this season and the Suns are hoping he's healthy enough to be traded.

Wed Dec 14 201117:42Agent: Pietrus likely to be dealt by Suns
Mickael Pietrus, whose trade to the Raptors was postponed by a knee injury, is eventually expected to be dealt by the Suns, according to his agent.
Pietrus is sidelined 2-4 weeks, but his agent, Bill McCandless, said that "The idea is for Phoenix to trade him." That is, of course, if Phoenix is able to find a team that's still interested after the knee setback. Regardless of whether he stays in Phoenix or lands elsewhere, Pietrus is only a player to target in extremely deep leagues.

Sat Dec 10 201115:16Raptors postpone trade for Mickael Pietrus
The Raptors' trade for Mickael Pietrus has been postponed because the team determined he needs 2-4 more weeks of rehab before being cleared to play.
Pietrus is headed back to Phoenix and there's a good chance he'll stay there. The Raptors just signed swingman Gary Forbes to a reasonable deal, and they have enough depth to proceed without Pietrus, and his $5.3 million price tag. Even healthy, he's not a fantasy commodity these days.

Sat Dec 10 201110:02Update: Raptors may not trade for Pietrus
The Raptors may not trade for Mickael Pietrus after all, according to beat writer Doug Smith.
Perhaps owing to Toronto's signing of Gary Forbes, the team may now be "going in a different direction." For now, Pietrus is still a member of the Suns.

Fri Dec 9 201110:24Suns expected to trade Pietrus to Raptors
The Suns are expected to trade Mickael Pietrus to the Raptors for a conditional second-round pick.
Pietrus averaged 7.4 points with the Suns last year, and wasn't productive enough to justify his $5.3 million salary for this season. He'll support both SG and SF in Toronto but isn't going to have fantasy value in a bench role.

Thu Nov 10 201112:59Pietrus seeks Chinese therapy for knee pain
Mickael Pietrus (knee) went to the Shaolin Temple in China in an attempt to alleviate his knee pain.
Very interesting considering his agent reported in August that Pietrus' surgery was routine and he was pain free. Apparently Pietrus tried "several traditional Chinese medicine therapies" and as a result said he was no longer experiencing any pain with the knee.

Tue Aug 9 201107:01Mickael Pietrus recovering from knee surgery
Mickael Pietrus (knee) reports no pain after surgery.
Pietrus had surgery to remove loose cartilage last month and will be finished with his rehab process by the end of August. According to his agent, the surgery was rather routine. For what it's worth, Pietrus' agent also said "he's good with being back in Phoenix or fine to be traded, he just wants to play". He is a candidate to be dealt after falling out of the Suns rotation last season and has an expiring contract. He could help a contender like the Celtics or Lakers that needs a wing player to stretch the floor. However, his fantasy outlook looms largely on where he ultimately lands.

Mon Jul 18 201100:08Pietrus' surgery is to remove loose cartilage
Mickael Pietrus' knee surgery Tuesday will be to remove loose cartilage.
Pietrus' surgery is considered minor, but any knee surgery is somewhat concerning. He's pulled out of the French squad for the European Championships. Pietrus is under contract with the Suns for a hefty $5.3 million next season.

Thu Jul 14 201115:08Pietrus to have knee surgery
Mickael Pietrus needs knee surgery and will be out four weeks.
An injury was apparently found when Pietrus was taking a physical ahead of the 2011 European Championships. He'll miss a chance to play for France, but will be ready for whenever the Suns begin training camp. Still, it's a blow to an oft-injured player trying to earn minutes off the bench in Phoenix.

Thu Jul 7 201108:41Mickael Pietrus: Lakers, Celtics interested
Mickael Pietrus told L'Equipe, a French sports website, that both the Lakers and the Celtics are interested in him.
This is interesting, because Pietrus is under contract with the Suns. According to Pietrus, Kobe Bryant told him that he'd like to see Pietrus play for the Lakers. Pietrus adds that the Suns didn't use him how he would have liked last season, but he's solely focused on winning a championship.

Wed Jun 15 201114:21Pietrus exercises one-year option for 2011-12
Mickael Pietrus has exercised his one-year player option for the 2011-12 season.
Pietrus could be dealt at some point this offseason, but even if so he's unlikely to land in a destination where he has significant value. The 29-year-old averaged 7.5 points in 38 games for the Suns this season.

Tue Jun 14 201110:43Pietrus will play for France
Mickael Pietrus's quad strain is healed and he will play for France in the European Championships.
Pietrus missed the final 12 games of last season due to the quad strain and appeared uncomfortable in Phoenix before that. There's a good chance he'll be part of a trade this offseason as Grant Hill, Jared Dudley and Josh Childress all play the swingman position. For now, Pietrus is way off the fantasy radar.

Mon Jun 13 201117:00Mickael Pietrus to opt in with Suns
Mickael Pietrus will not opt out of his contract this summer, putting him back with the Suns next season.
"It wasn't an easy decision, but given the expiration of the CBA we decided that the decision made the most sense," agent Bill McCandless said. Pietrus is scheduled to make $5.3 million next season.
