Mon Feb 3 201415:49Steve Blake listed as probable for Tuesday
Steve Blake (elbow) is listed as probable to face the Wolves on Tuesday.
He's not a lock to play, but he should be in the lineup for the first time since Dec. 10. Blake's range as a shooter should help him get some run at the shooting guard spot and he's worth a look for any owner seeking help in triples and assists. It's worth mentioning he was sporting a sleeve on his right elbow.

Sun Feb 2 201416:11Steve Blake goes through a full practice
Steve Blake (elbow) went through a full practice on Sunday afternoon.
"My arm is doing well, I felt good today in practice," Blake said. He's been able to take a lot of shots with his right arm, which was a problem even before he was ruled out back on Dec. 10. Blake was effective at point guard for going down and his 3-point range really helped open things up, so it's not a bad idea to pick him up for point guard-needy owners to see how it plays out.

Fri Jan 31 201414:58Steve Blake could play on Tuesday vs. Wolves
Steve Blake (elbow) could play against the Wolves on Tuesday.
He's back at practice and is shooting shots with his right hand. Blake was taking a noteworthy amount of shots with his left hand even before he started missing games back on Jan. 10, so it's certainly possible he'll be back next week. In his four games before injury, he averaged 9.5 points, 8.3 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.8 triples. Fantasy owners should likely take a wait-and-see approach.

Thu Jan 30 201415:47Steve Blake (elbow) resumes practicing
The Lakers had Steve Blake (elbow) back as a full participant in Thursday's practice.
He's been slowly ramping up his activity this week and it's conceivable that he'll return from a six-week absence vs. the Bobcats on Friday. His initial timetable ruled him out for a minimum of six weeks.

Mon Jan 27 201416:18Steve Blake back at practice on Monday
Steve Blake (elbow) was able to increase his work at practice on Monday.
He was shooting with his right hand on Monday and looks like he's getting closer to a return. Blake was expected to miss a minimum of six weeks back on Dec. 12, but there is still no timetable for his return. He was playing extremely well before the injury and it's not a terrible idea to stash him in deeper formats.

Fri Jan 3 201414:03Steve Blake will be reevaluated Feb. 1
Steve Blake (elbow) will be reevaluated February 1.
Blake was spotted getting some 3-point shots up during Friday's morning shootaround, but that doesn't mean he's close to a return. The torn UCL in his right (shooting) elbow is going to need plenty of time to heal. Kendall Marshall will be the sixth point guard to start a game for the Lakers this season.

Thu Dec 12 201315:13Steve Blake (elbow) out 6+ weeks w/ torn UCL
Steve Blake will miss a minimum of six weeks with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
Blake was playing through the injury, which is a testament to his toughness, but further testing revealed the torn UCL. His absence, combined with injuries to Steve Nash (nerves) and Jordan Farmar (hamstring), leaves the Lakers razor-thin at PG.

Wed Dec 11 201301:59Steve Blake hands out 10 assists in loss
Steve Blake played through his elbow injury again on Tuesday and had nine points, five rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and a 3-pointer on 3-of-7 shooting.
Blake had just three points and four assists on Sunday and may have been dropped after his two-game week, but as long as Steve Nash is out, Blake should be worth owning in most leagues. Even with Sunday's dud and the return of Kobe Bryant, he's averaging 8.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 8.6 assists and 1.4 3-pointers over his last five games.

Sat Dec 7 201304:04Blake double-doubles with bad elbow
Steve Blake played through his right elbow injury in Friday's win over the Kings, scoring 13 points on 5-of-13 shooting (2-of-9 from deep) with three rebounds and 10 assists in 39 minutes.
Blake was icing the elbow after the game but you wouldn't know by the way he played, which was aggressive and without abandon. Kobe Bryant's return Sunday is going to hurt his value, but Blake has aged well and in most cases we want to see a game or two before dropping him. We're leaving him off the injury report unless we get bad news.

Wed Dec 4 201314:37Steve Blake shooting shots left handed?
Steve Blake (elbow) was shooting with his left hand at practice on Wednesday.
He has a hyper-extended right elbow and is right handed, so this is a little interesting. Blake has gone through practice the past couple days and it could be nothing, but we'd just pass along the info. He seems probable for Friday and will get all the minutes he can handle on Friday with Jordan Farmar expected to miss a month.

Tue Dec 3 201316:10Steve Blake (elbow) practices on Tuesday
Steve Blake (hyper-extended elbow) practiced fully on Tuesday.
With two more off days before L.A.'s next game, Friday vs. the Kings, it seems like a safe bet that Blake will be in the starting lineup. The last thing the Lakers can afford is for Blake's elbow to limit him, with Steve Nash (nerves) still out indefinitely and Jordan Farmar (hamstring) on the shelf.

Mon Dec 2 201318:06Steve Blake has a hyper-extended elbow
Steve Blake is dealing with a hyper-extended right elbow.
The team will likely take a wait-and-see approach and see how Blake deals with the pain in practice. The good news is that they're off until Friday, but the bad news is that this would be a terrible blow should Blake not be able to play. Jordan Farmar is out with a torn hamstring and Steve Nash's status is up on the air. If Blake can't go, Nick Young might have to handle the ball, which would at least make the game entertaining.

Sat Nov 30 201300:12Steve Blake scores two points vs. Detroit
Steve Blake scored a season-low two points against the Pistons on Friday to go with 10 assists, four rebounds and one steal in 24 minutes.
It was his worst game of the season and he shot only 1-of-6 from the field. Surprisingly, this was also the first game in which he failed to knock down a 3-pointer. Even though Jordan Farmar is playing very well, Blake owners shouldn't cut him based on this line allow due to how he's handed in double-digit dimes in seven of his last nine games.

Sun Nov 24 201323:55Steve Blake hands out 12 dimes in Lakers' win
Steve Blake paced the Lakers to their third straight win on Sunday with nine points, five boards and 12 assists.
He knocked down one 3-pointer and even blocked a shot as a cherry on top. He's handed out double-digit assists in five of L.A.'s past six games and belongs in all fantasy lineups until he cools off, and with Steve Nash ailing he may wind up being a solid play all season long.

Mon Nov 18 201301:34Steve Blake hands out season-high 16 assists
Steve Blake handed out a season-high 16 assists with four steals and nine points in Sunday's 114-99 win over the Pistons.
This makes four double-digit assist games in a row for Blake, who is a must-own player with Steve Nash out at least another 10 days, and in all likelihood much longer. Even when Nash returns, Blake's fantasy outlook is buoyed by his ability to play either guard spot and to collect assists and 3-pointers in bunches. His solid play continues to stifle Jordan Farmar (six points, five assists in 13 minutes).

Sat Nov 16 201304:33Blake flirts with trip-dub; Meeks scores 25
Steve Blake scored nine points on 4-of-9 shooting (including a three) with seven rebounds, 10 assists and two steals in Friday's loss to the Grizzlies.
Blake has taken over the point guard position and left Jordan Farmar in his dust, and because of Mike D'Antoni's system he has been able to rack up rebounds (3.4) and assists (6.6) at a career-best rate. He's a must-start player going forward until Kobe Bryant returns. Jodie Meeks added 25 points with five treys in the loss.

Thu Nov 14 201300:42Steve Blake double-doubles in loss to Nuggs
Steve Blake hit 5-of-11 shots and two 3-pointers for 15 points, six rebounds and 11 assists in Wednesday's loss to the Nuggets.
He is officially the point guard to own in L.A. now that Steve Nash is out for the next few weeks, if not longer. Jordan Farmar had a nice game on Tuesday, but as 0-for-4 for one point in 14 minutes tonight.

Wed Nov 13 201302:26Steve Blake hands out 10 assists in easy win
Steve Blake started at point guard for the Lakers Tuesday and scored just five points on 1-of-4 shooting (a 3-pointer), but also had 10 assists in 27 minutes as L.A. throttled the defenseless Hornets.
We have been touting Blake as a hot pickup and he came through tonight. Jordan Farmar had a nice line off the bench, and both players are worth using over the next two weeks while Steve Nash tries to get his back into playing shape.

Mon Nov 11 201315:51Mike D'Antoni could change lineup again
Mike D'Antoni said a change to the lineup is a "definite possibility."
Of course it is. D'Antoni changes his lineups about as often as he changes his suits, plus Steve Nash having his doctor's appointment today means the team will have to explore a new way to work the rotation. Steve Blake scored 19 points on Sunday and is likely to be the main beneficiary. Jodie Meeks' upside for triples makes him a viable add and Jordan Farmar could be charged with more responsibilities.
