Fri Feb 8 201311:50Carlos Delfino could return on Friday night
Carlos Delfino went through shootaround and could return from his elbow injury on Friday.
Delfino expects to play, but he'll be a game-time call. Delfino has been battling the elbow issue and has missed two straight games. If he does return Friday, James Anderson will likely see his minutes decreased by quite a bit.

Tue Feb 5 201318:38Carlos Delfino (elbow) out for next two games
Carlos Delfino (elbow) will not play on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Delfino is trying to avoid surgery by controlling swelling. The concern is that he's already been dealing with this for a month and the damage is on his shooting elbow. Chandler Parsons is an excellent bet for 35-plus minutes in Tuesday's potential shootout against the Warriors.

Tue Feb 5 201311:25Carlos Delfino skips Tuesday shootaround
Carlos Delfino (elbow) did not go through shootaround on Tuesday.
Delfino is listed as day-to-day, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him sit out again on Tuesday. If he does, Chandler Parsons will play even more minutes than usual.

Mon Feb 4 201315:07Delfino day-to-day w/ strained right elbow
Carlos Delfino is listed as day-to-day with a strained right elbow.
This isn't much of an update and it leaves his status up in the air for Tuesday, but at least he avoided serious damage. Chandler Parsons, who is already a must-start option, gets a boost if Delfino is unable to play.

Sat Feb 2 201323:56Delfino leaves w/ strained right elbow
Carlos Delfino was scoreless in seven minutes before leaving Saturday's game with a strained right elbow.
Owners have no choice but to bench the perimeter specialist while we await an update -- Chandler Parsons played 44 minutes tonight and we may see James Anderson join the second unit if the injury costs Delfino any games. The Rockets host the Warriors on Tuesday, giving him a few days to rehab.

Thu Jan 31 201302:26Carlos Delfino cools off in loss to Nuggets
Carlos Delfino hit 2-of-7 shots (all 3-pointers) for eight points, two rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block in Wednesday's loss.
He was due for an off night after scoring between 13 and 17 points in seven straight games, knocking down 24 3-pointers, while shooting 50 percent during the stretch. His minutes were right where they've been lately (25) and we expect him to bounce back on Saturday against the Bobcats. And with Delfino struggling, it's no surprise that Chandler Parsons went off for 21 points, three 3-pointers and a full stat line tonight.

Tue Jan 29 201300:56Delfino and Morris each hit four threes
Carlos Delfino and Marcus Morris each hit four 3-point shots on Monday night.
Both of them hit 5-of-9 shots from the field. Delfino scored 14 points with not much else and Morris scored 16 points in similar fashion. The former should be owned in standard formats and the latter is an inconsistent deep league guy right now.

Sat Jan 26 201301:18Carlos Delfino hits four more 3s Friday
Carlos Delfino made four 3-pointers to go with 14 points, three rebounds, two assists and one block in 25 minutes in Friday's win over the Hornets.
He's made at least three 3-pointers in five consecutive games and he's locked in at 27 minutes per game in his last 11 games. Delfino should be owned in all standard leagues.

Fri Jan 18 201323:46Delfino scores 17 points off the bench
Carlos Delfino scored 17 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 6-of-11 shots (including three treys) with three rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 24 minutes.
Owners need to ride the roller coaster toward his average late round value, making him a hit-or-miss player on any given week. His type of production is definitely better suited for deeper formats, but he's worth owning in 12-team formats nonetheless.

Wed Jan 16 201323:29Carlos Delfino awful in loss to Mavs
Carlos Delfino, coming off a pair of 16-point games with an all-around solid stats, hit just 2-of-7 shots and one 3-pointer for five points, a steal and five turnovers in Wednesday's loss.
As we keep saying, when Delfino is on, he's fun to own, and when he's off he's a fantasy disaster. He's scored nine or fewer in three of his last five games, but scored 16 in the other two, while knocking down 10 3-pointers over that stretch. Owners will need to learn to take the good with the bad on "Del3no," as there are no signs pointing to him becoming a consistent player from night to night. Having said that, he's probably due to bounce back in his next one.

He's been the trigger man for the Rockets, attempting 6.6 triples per game over his last seven contests. Delfino played his most minutes in 2013 on Tuesday and he's held steady at 26 minutes per game in his last 10 games. The sample size is large enough to draw a conclusion he should be owned in all standard leagues.

Fri Jan 11 201322:53Carlos Delfino goes cold on Friday
Carlos Delfino went cold in Friday's loss to the Celtics, shooting just 1-of-7 from the field for five points with two rebounds and four assists in 24 minutes.
All seven of his attempts were from deep and it's become abundantly clear that he's the spot-up shooter of choice for Houston. Delfino is shooting 38.0 percent from 3-point range on the season and should be viewed as a specialist in standard leagues.

Wed Jan 9 201323:51Carlos Delfino hits 3-of-10 shots for 9
Carlos Delfino hit 3-of-10 shots and two 3-pointers for nine points in Wednesday's loss.
As we wrote on Tuesday (when Delfino had 19 points, five 3-pointers and a full stat line), if you can figure out the right night to start Delfino, he will have a couple big lines per week. And even with nights like this one, he's still a good enough bet to bounce back and be worth owning in most leagues. Especially with Chandler Parsons struggling with his shot right now.

Wed Jan 9 201300:37Carlos Delfino scores 19 w/ five 3-pointers
Carlos Delfino had 19 points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and five 3-pointers on 7-of-14 shooting in 23 minutes of Tuesday's win over the Lakers.
If you could figure out on which nights to start Delfino, he'd be a mini fantasy goldmine. Out of his last five games, three of them were great, as he scored 19, 22 and 22 points with 17 3-pointers, while he totaled 11 points and two 3-pointers in the other two. But when you look at the fact he's averaging 14.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 3.8 3-pointers in those five games, it's clearly time to pick him up and prepare to take the good nights with the bad ones.

Sat Jan 5 201323:39Carlos Delfino scores nine with two 3s
Carlos Delfino made two 3-pointers on five attempts, scoring nine points with three rebounds, two assists and one steal in Saturday's win over the Cavs.
Delfino hit six triples in two of his last three games and his owners should expect a big game here and there, but there will be somewhat quiet nights like tonight. He's worth owning in some leagues as a 3-point specialist.

Sat Jan 5 201301:58Carlos Delfino hits six triples for 22 points
Carlos Delfino made six 3-pointers and went 3-of-4 from the line for 22 points with three rebounds, one assist and two steals in Friday's win over the Bucks.
It's been a roller coaster with Delfino lately. He didn't make any 3-pointers on Wednesday and hit six on Monday. Although, Kevin McHale has given him a green light and Delfino has taken 6.2 attempts per game from downtown over his nine games. He should be owned by anyone that has their heart set on improving their production from 3-point range.

Thu Jan 3 201300:10Carlos Delfino disappears in win
Carlos Delfino, who had a season-high 22 points, six 3-pointers and eight assists on Monday, hit just 1-of-6 shots and zero 3-pointers for two points in 24 minutes on Wednesday.
And this is why he is sitting on the waiver wire in most leagues, despite the ability to have a big game like he did on Monday.

Mon Dec 31 201221:27Delfino (illness) returns to post 22 and 8
Carlos Delfino returned to action after a bout with food poisoning on Monday, scoring a season-high 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting (including six threes) with four rebounds, a career-high eight assists, and one steal in just under 30 minutes.
If you picked up Delfino and started him in the Rockets' four-game week, congratulations are in order. Houston beat writers said during the game that the team looks better with Delfino on the court, so maybe this will mark the beginning of more consistent production for the streaky shooter. Give him a look if he's still on your wire, but be ready for the ups and downs.

Mon Dec 31 201211:49Carlos Delfino (illness) looks OK Monday
Carlos Delfino "looks OK" after battling an illness.
Delfino could return on Monday against the Hawks, but we're considering him a game-time call. We'll let you know one way or another, but he should be ready to go.
