Frye (knee) will not play in Monday's exhibition game against the Hornets, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Fri Oct 10 201410:43Frye (knee) won't play in Friday's exhibition
Frye (knee) won't play in Friday's exhibition, the Orlando Sentinel's Josh Robbins reports.
This is not surprising, as Frye hadn't practiced this week. He sprained his MCL last Thursday and it's not quite clear if he'll be ready for the start of the regular season. Look for Aaron Gordon to see extended minutes Friday.
Wed Oct 8 201412:11Frye (knee) ruled out of Wednesday's practice
Frye (knee) has been ruled out of Wednesday's practice.
Frye sprained his left MCL last Thursday and has been sidelined since. With the Magic yet to outline a timetable on his future return, Frye's status is certain, although his injury typically takes at least a couple weeks to heal.
Fri Oct 3 201409:38Frye suffered sprained left MCL at Thursday's practice
Frye suffered a sprained left MCL at Thursday's practice, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Frye already underwent an MRI on the knee that confirmed nothing more than the sprain, but he could still be looking at a sizable recovery timetable. The Magic said that any return date would be dependent upon how Frye responds to treatment, making it tough to predict how much time he might miss. If the injury does indeed carry over into the start of the regular season, an opening would exist for Kyle O'Quinn to pick up some more minutes at power forward.
Fri Jul 18 201409:26Channing Frye not keen on hometown discount
Channing Frye let it be known that he is not a fan of the notion that athletes should take a hometown discount in a recent interview.
"[The idea that athletes should take a hometown discount] it's just absolutely ridiculous. Because the thing that happens is someone takes a discount. Let's say the market says they're worth $10 million and they take $5 million. The next day they get traded, so they're like `well dang, why did I take $5 million if you're just going to trade me?'" Because Frye went to school at the University of Arizona, and attended high school in Phoenix, it was generally believed that he was going to return with the Suns for the 2014-15 season. However, the two sides were apparently far apart from a contract standpoint, and he elected to go with the highest bidder. Basketball is a business, and Frye makes some valid points.

Mon Jul 7 201418:11Channing Frye accepts four-year deal with ORL
Unrestricted free agent Channing Frye has agreed on a four-year deal worth $32 million with the Magic.
Frye may be the starting power forward for the Magic, and he'll bring veteran leadership to a young Orlando roster. Frye had a nice season with Phoenix last season, averaging 11.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.0 three-pointers through 28.2 minutes per game. It's possible Frye can get a bit more minutes in a less crowded rotation in Orlando, which would create a marginal uptick in the stats.

Thu Jun 26 201415:02Channing Frye being recruited to GS by Iggy
Andre Iguodala made an informal recruitment pitch to his former college teammate and unrestricted free agent Channing Frye on Sirius XM radio.
Frye opted out of the last year of his contract with the Suns, leaving $6.8M on the table. He has already been linked to the Warriors, his former general manager in Phoenix, Steve Kerr, is now the head coach of the Warriors. Frye's former college teammate Andre Iguodala made his sales pitch on Sirius. "I've talked to Channing a few times," he said on Thursday. "I told him how great the Bay was... I would take care of him. If he needed a room, I got an extra room for him."

Mon Jun 23 201420:30Frye opts out of final year of contract
Channing Frye has opted out of the final year of his contract with the Suns.
Frye has been linked to the Warriors, where his old GM Steve Kerr is coaching the team, and he has also been linked to the Cavs. His game translates very well to fantasy but wherever he plays the jury will be out on what he can do after struggling down the stretch of last season.

Mon Jun 23 201400:40Stein reporting Channing Frye to opt out
ESPN's Marc Stein says that Channing Frye has a "99 percent" chance of opting out of his contract on Monday.
That would make him an unrestricted free agent, and while there are indications he wants to re-sign with the Suns, it sounds like there's a good chance he'll be playing for another team next season. If the Warriors miss out on a Kevin Love trade, Frye might be a target for them.

Sun Jun 22 201418:16Warriors, Cavs keep watch on Channing Frye
The Warriors and Cavaliers may have interest in signing Suns PF/C Channing Frye if he declines his $6.8 million player option for next season.
Frye said in April that he hopes to negotiate a contract extension with Phoenix, where he averaged 11.1 points and shot 37.0 percent from downtown last season. He also played in all 82 games, a momentous turn of events after heart surgery caused him to miss the entire 2012-13 season, and for now the Suns appear to have the inside track to retain him.

Wed Apr 16 201409:14Channing Frye hopes to sign extension w/ Suns
Channing Frye, who has a $6.8 million player option next season, would like to negotiate a contract extension with the Suns.
"I'd love to stay here. It's up to them and their future and what they want to do," Frye said. "I love wearing this uniform. I think I take a little more pride in it than everyone else because I'm from here." He's averaged 11.2 points and 5.1 rebounds while starting all 82 games for Phoenix (he's expected to start Wednesday), an amazing feat after missing the 2012-13 season due to an enlarged heart.

Sat Apr 12 201423:47Channing Frye breaks out of funk w/ 5 threes
Channing Frye hit 7-of-13 shots and five 3-pointers for 21 points, six rebounds, a steal and a block in Saturday's loss to the Mavericks.
Frye has been in a serious slump for the Suns, but got hot early and was able to keep it going. The Suns are still battling Memphis for the last playoff spot available, so Frye will continue to play. But the fact remains that tonight's game might have been more of a fluke than anything else, given his poor play over the last several weeks.

Mon Mar 31 201400:23Channing Frye scores two points in defeat
Channing Frye made 1-of-7 field goals for two points in Sunday's lopsided loss, adding six rebounds and one assist in 19 minutes of action.
He went without a 3-pointer for the second straight game, and the normally deadly outside shooter is just 32.7 percent from deep since the All-Star break. Nevertheless, Frye's valuable combination of 3-pointers, steals (0.8) and blocks (0.8) has buoyed his mid-round value in nine-cat leagues this season.

Mon Mar 24 201422:48Channing Frye drops 18 points vs. Hawks
Channing Frye scored 18 points vs. the Hawks on Monday with seven boards, one block and four 3-pointers in 40 minutes.
He did not play more than 23 minutes in any of his previous four games and his playing time has dwindled a bit with guys like Markieff Morris really stepping up. Frye's 18 points were also his best total since Feb. 4 and he also entered tonight with March averages of 8.9 points, 4.5 boards and 1.2 triples. He's not quite worth owning in standard leagues.

Sun Mar 23 201418:29Channing Frye plays season-low 15 minutes
Channing Frye played a season-low 15 minutes as the Suns relied on small lineups in a comeback win vs. the Wolves on Sunday.
The Suns erased a double-digit deficit with Marcus Morris playing center, which gives some idea coach Jeff Hornacek's unorthodox but effective lineups. The end result was a 127-120 victory for Phoenix but Frye should resume playing 20-30 minutes against Pero Antic and the Hawks on Monday.

Sat Mar 22 201402:53Frye quiet on offense in Friday's win
Channing Frye hit just 1-of-6 shots for two points in Friday's win, but did manage two steals and a block to go with his four rebounds over 23 minutes.
It hasn't been pretty for Frye lately but his fantasy-friendly game has still managed to return late-round value through it all. Depending on your needs and who is available on the wire you may opt for a hotter player, but Frye is operating at his floor and the Suns will need every ounce of effort he can bring as they hunt a playoff spot. They also play four games next week.

Thu Mar 13 201401:32Frye hits four treys on way to 17 and six
Channing Frye scored 17 points on 5-of-14 shooting (including four threes) with six rebounds and one steal in the Suns' 110-101 loss to the Cavs on Wednesday.
Frye cooled off in a big way but he never really lost all of his value so hopefully folks were able to hold on. If he's available your team would need to be stacked in a standard format not to make the pickup. He's a top 65-85 play when he's on the floor this season and though we can't guarantee he's out of his slump those metrics are too good to pass up, even with Eric Bledsoe back and P.J. Tucker returning from his suspension.
