Thu Jun 19 201400:53Swaggy P could give the Lakers a discount
Nick Young could be willing to give the Lakers a hometown discount after opting out of his deal.
His last year is only worth $1.2 million, but he should be able to do better after a solid 2013-14. Young has been spotted on vacation wearing Lakers shorts and clearly is enjoying his time in Los Angeles. While last year was great, Young's fantasy value figures to take a massive hit with Kobe Bryant coming back.

Mon Apr 14 201423:56Nick Young scores season-high 41 points @ UTA
Nick Young got hot against the Jazz on Monday for a season-high 41 points with three boards, three assists and six 3-pointers on 14-of-23 shooting.
In a post-game interview with sideline reporter Mike Trudell, Young said he knew his career-high was 43 and he wanted to break it tonight, which is obviously the least surprising news of the day. He's had an interesting season for a several reasons: Swaggy said he didn't want to get an MRI on his knee because he'd be worried about the results, his Nike Air Yeezys were stolen and he's referred to himself in the third person more times than we care to count. If one thing's for sure, he's certainly not boring.

Mon Apr 14 201400:34Nick Young plays through minor knee injury
Nick Young hurt his knee during Sunday's game but he quickly returned to finish with 14 points, four 3-pointers, one rebound, one steal and one block in 26 minutes.
Swaggy is having a terrific month of April, averaging 20.6 points, 3.4 triples, 1.8 assists and 0.6 steals in just 25 minutes per game off Mike D'Antoni's bench. He's almost certain to opt out of his NBA-minimum contract this summer, but he's already expressed a desire to re-sign with L.A.

Sat Apr 12 201402:56Young scores 25 points, wants 60 next time
Nick Young scored 25 points on 10-of-20 shooting (including three treys) with four assists over 30 minutes off the bench in Friday's blowout loss to the Warriors.
After hearing about Corey Brewer's 51-point game, Young said in the locker room that he wanted to go for 60 the next time out. With the way he's assuming a neon green light on the floor, we don't doubt his sincerity and he should be in all lineups.

Thu Apr 10 201416:55Nick Young hopes to re-sign w/ Lakers as FA
Nick Young is expected to opt out of his $1.2 million option for next season, but he's "very confident" that he'll reach an agreement to re-sign with the Lakers.
Young is earning the NBA minimum this season, while averaging 17.5 points per game, and there's no doubt that he'll get a nice raise this summer. He said that he's willing to accept less from the Lakers than from other teams, which increases the odds that he'll stay in L.A.

Nick Young played through a sore knee and hit 11-of-14 shots and six 3-pointers for 32 points and three assists in Tuesday's blowout loss to the Rockets.
Young is on fire, averaging 24.2 points and 4.0 3-pointers over his last five games, and as long as his knee allows him to play, he should be in your lineup.

Sat Apr 5 201415:14Nick Young (ankle) probable to play Sunday
Nick Young (ankle) "looked OK" during Saturday's practice, and he's expected to play vs. the Clippers on Sunday.
The Lakers will be without Pau Gasol, Chris Kaman, Steve Nash and Xavier Henry, so they can surely use whatever production Swaggy can give them. Owners should consider him probable to play until we get an update after Sunday's shootaround.

Wed Apr 2 201401:42Nick Young scores 40 points in loss to POR
Nick Young was on fire against the Blazers during Tuesday's 124-112 loss, scoring a season-high 40 points with four boards, one assist, two steals and six 3-pointers.
He shot 15-of-26 from the field including 6-of-13 from deep to go with 4-of-5 from the line. Young was coming in cold making just 7-of-24 from the field, but he made his first eight shots tonight. His game hasn't really translated to standard fantasy leagues, but it's kind of hard to leave him on the wire following a game like this one.

Thu Mar 27 201422:58Swaggy P's knee injury was not a problem
Nick Young knocked down three 3-pointers in 29 minutes against the Bucks on Thursday, scoring a total of 17 points with two rebounds, three assists and two steals.
He hasn't been his usual self in scoring the ball in his previous three games back from a knee injury with only two of his 21 makes coming via mid-range. Young is going to continue to be a high-volume guy in scoring and treys, but he didn't have any blocks or steals in those three games with just two total assists. He's basically just a two-category guy.

Thu Mar 27 201419:39Nick Young is good to go for tonight
Nick Young (knee) is ready to go for Thursday's game vs. the Bucks.
He banged his knee during Tuesday's game and he should be ready for his usual role off the bench. Young has been taking a lot of shots and fantasy owners can use him like they normally would.

Wed Mar 26 201411:14Nick Young questionable after hitting knee
Nick Young got hit in his injured knee during Tuesday's game, leaving him questionable for Thursday's game.
Young said afterward that he thought he'd be OK, but anyone relying on Swaggy for production should keep a close eye on L.A.'s injury report. If he's forced to miss a game or more, look for Xavier Henry and Kent Bazemore to each earn a few extra minutes.

Wed Mar 26 201401:27Nick Young scores 20 points off the bench
Nick Young did solid damage against the Knicks on Tuesday in just 19 minutes, scoring 20 points with four boards and five 3-pointers.
He had about $100,000 worth of goods stolen from his house including his Nike Air Yeezys and he put up some nice numbers off the bench tonight. Young has been effective in his return, but his ceiling won't be too high in fantasy leagues with only points and triples.

Mon Mar 24 201415:43Nick Young's house robbed for $100K
Nick Young said burglars stole about $100,000 worth of clothes and jewelry from his home while he was at Sunday night's game.
"I was just shocked they tried to get Swaggy," Young said on Monday. No arrests have been made at this time and the burglars reportedly stole most of the items from the master bedroom. In more positive news, Young played well in Sunday's win with 26 points and he looks to be picking up where he left off. If you're looking for points and triples, Young should probably be owned.

Mon Mar 24 201400:18Nick Young's 26 help L.A. snap 4-game skid
Nick Young lit up the Magic for 26 points to help L.A. snap a four-game skid on Sunday, making 8-of-17 FGs and 8-of-9 FTs in just 31 minutes off the bench.
Young's knee injury sidelined him for just shy of a month but you wouldn't know it from watching him play the past two games, as he's averaging 23.5 points and 3.0 threes per game. He's shooting just 42.1 percent this season and faces competition from Kent Bazemore, Ryan Kelly and possibly Xavier Henry (wrist), and his two-dimensional fantasy game makes him a risky pickup.

Thu Mar 20 201415:29Nick Young (knee) to come off bench Friday
Nick Young (knee) will come off the Lakers' bench in his return to action on Friday.
Young practiced for a week without any problems but presumably he'll play limited minutes at first, as he's only appeared in one game since Feb. 5. Xavier Henry scored 24 points in 32 minutes on Wednesday and he stands to gain the most with Swaggy P in uniform.

Wed Mar 19 201422:16Nick Young still out vs. Spurs
Nick Young (knee) will not play against the Spurs on Wednesday.
He is hoping to return this week and is back at practice. Young isn't a full go at practice just yet, so he should be considered questionable for the weekend.

Mon Mar 17 201414:37Nick Young (knee) hopes to play this week
Nick Young (knee) will practice on Monday and he hopes to return to action this week.
Mike D'Antoni wouldn't peg a date for Young's return, as the Lakers will wait to see how his knee responds after a few practices. He hasn't played since late February and fantasy owners should leave him on the waiver wire until we've seen him in action.

Thu Mar 13 201413:22Nick Young out for Thursday vs Oklahoma City
Nick Young (knee) is out for Thursday's game against the Thunder.
Young has played just 20 minutes since February 5 and still lacks a timetable for his return. Swaggy P does have something to play for since he can opt out of his contract after the season, but the Lakers have no motivation to rush Young's return as there playoff hopes have been extinguished for quite some time now. With Kobe Bryant now out for the season, Jodie Meeks is the must-own player with Kent Bazemore, Wesley Johnson, and Ryan Kelly all continuing to see a boost in value while Young is out.
