Mon Apr 2 201222:17Vesely scores 14 points with seven boards
Jan Vesely scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting with seven rebounds, one steal, and one block in 39 minutes on Monday.
Vesely started because both Trevor Booker and Nene are out with plantar fasciitis. It's hard to ignore a year's worth of inconsistency, but not knowing the story with the foot issues in Washington he is worth a look.

Sun Apr 1 201221:05Jan Vesely plays 35 minutes in start at PF
Jan Vesely had 10 points, four rebounds and four assists in a start at PF on Sunday, making 5-of-8 FGs in 35 minutes of action.
Trevor Booker and Nene are both battling chronic foot injuries, and Andray Blatche is off somewhere trying to get into shape, which leaves the door wide open for Vesely and Kevin Seraphin. This was only his second game of the month with double-digit points, but keep a close eye on him.

Wizards rookie Jan Vesely had 11 points, six rebounds, one steal and one block in 25 minutes on Sunday.
The absence of Nene opened up more frontcourt minutes than usual, but Vesely should be watched in case Trevor Booker's plantar fasciitis eventually forces him to rest.

Wed Feb 22 201219:40Jan Vesely dealing with stomach ailment
Jan Vesely is currently not on the Wizards bench in the second quarter due to a stomach virus.

Sun Feb 12 201221:03Jan Vesely excels in 28 minutes on Sunday
Wizards rookie Jan Vesely played very well in 28 minutes off the bench on Sunday, scoring 10 points (4-of-5 FGs) with eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and three blocks.
This needs to be kept in perspective, as the Wizards ran away with the game in the second half and the Pistons were awful competition. Vesely will continue to get minutes all season, however, as the lottery-bound Wizards have a vested interest in his development.

Tue Jan 31 201216:46Wittman has been told to play young guys
Interim coach Randy Wittman has been told to play the Wizards' young pieces, according to CBS' Ken Berger.
This is the only logical explanation for why Jan Vesely continues to start. The No. 6 overall pick has flopped in his three starts, averaging 3.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 23.3 minutes. Wittman may stick with Vesely as part of the first unit, but rugged veteran Trevor Booker is earning more minutes off the bench.

Mon Jan 30 201223:39Vesely not impressive in start vs. Bulls
Rookie Jan Vesely started at small forward on Monday against the Bulls, scoring just two points on 1-of-3 shooting with three rebounds and two assists in 15 minutes.
We don't know how much his hip injury has impacted him, but we know that Vesely has not done anything to impact fantasy leagues this year. Keep an eye on him because he has physical abilities that cannot be taught, but he should remain on waiver wires.

Mon Jan 30 201218:54Vesely starting for Wiz at PF
Rookie Jan Vesely is starting against the Bulls Monday.
With Andray Blatche (calf) out 3-5 weeks, there is a ton of minutes available. Vesely figures to sustain starting status as a young piece of the Wizards' rebuilding core, but he's been ineffective so far. In two starts, the No. 6 overall pick is averaging just 3.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists despite playing 27.5 minutes. Glue guy Trevor Booker figures to make this a timeshare.

Sat Jan 28 201222:05Jan Vesely starts, scores two points in win
Jan Vesely made his second straight start at power forward for the Wizards on Saturday but had just two points on 1-of-4 shooting in 26 minutes.
He added five rebounds, four assists and two steals, but very much looks like a rookie. As long as Randy Wittman keeps Andray Blatche in the dog house and starts Vesely, he's worth a watchful eye. But it wouldn't be surprising if Vesely is back to coming off the bench if he doesn't turn it on in the next couple games.

Sat Jan 28 201219:00Jan Vesely starting again for Wizards
Jan Vesely will start again for the Wizards on Saturday, meaning Andray Blatche will come off the bench again.
Blatche's value takes a hit off the bench, while Vesely might be worth adding in many leagues. He's a potential defensive liability and Randy Wittman is still tinkering with his lineup and rotations, so all hope may not be lost for Blatche. But for now, he's the sixth man for the Wiz.

Sat Jan 28 201201:20Vesely mediocre in his first start on Friday
Jan Vesely was mediocre in his first start of the season, scoring five points on 2-of-6 shooting with six rebounds and three steals in 29 minutes.
His athleticism is a big plus, but everything else is a question mark. Owners should simply watch him for now, but with the youth movement on in Washington it's possible he jumps onto owners' rosters at some point.

Wed Jan 11 201213:39Flip Saunders praises Jan Vesely's defense
Flip Saunders praised Jan Vesely's defense after he had five steals in Tuesday's win.
Vesely's five steals came in just 16 minutes of play. " He did a heck of a job on Bargnani when he was in there, he really frustrated him," said Saunders. He could very well see an increase in playing time as he continues to wet his feet, as this was just Vesely's second career game in the league. Owners should monitor his production to see if he can make a consistent impact on the stat sheet.

Thu Jan 5 201216:58Vesely may make NBA debut on Friday for WAS
Jan Vesely (hip) said he feels good enough to play on Friday vs. the Knicks.
Even Vesely knows how miserable the 0-6 Wizards have been this year. When he was asked if he can help he said, "I'm not sure I am the guy that can make some miracles." Vesely is still looking to make his NBA debut and even though he was the No. 6 overall pick in this past summer's draft, he doesn't belong on fantasy rosters right now.

Wed Jan 4 201216:41Vesely (hip) should suit up Wednesday
Jan Vesely (hip) practiced the past two days and is expected to be in uniform on Wednesday.
Wizards coach Flip Saunders says that Vesely might enter the game to foul Dwight Howard, but he's not likely to play much, if at all. The No. 6 overall pick is worth monitoring, but belongs on waivers for now.

Jan Vesely (hip) said that he felt "better," and Flip Saunders acknowledged that he was making progress in his return.
