Fri Feb 3 201202:00Jimmer gets first DNP-CD on Thursday
Jimmer Fredette did not play on Thursday due to coach's decision.
Ouch. Jimmer has been mishandled by the Kings organization, being given no role while being frozen out by teammates early in the year. Questions about his quickness have been exposed as Fredette usually gets the ball without a game plan and late in the shot clock, and the result has usually been pretty bad. Something needs to change schematically in Sacto, or his career is heading down the wrong track. He can be dropped in most normal formats.

Sat Jan 28 201223:53Jimmer Fredette scores 14 in return to Utah
Jimmer Fredette returned to Utah to face the Jazz and hit 5-of-13 shots and three 3-pointers for 14 points in the midst of 'Jimmermania.'
He missed a 3-pointer that would have tied the game at the buzzer, so the night wasn't a total success. He's starting in place of Marcus Thornton, and will continue to do so until Thornton is over his calf injury, making him a borderline player to own in 12-team fantasy leagues.

Thu Jan 26 201202:19Jimmer hits five treys for 19 points in start
Jimmer Fredette hit five 3-point shots in the Kings' 122-93 blowout loss to the Nuggets on Wednesday, scoring 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting with one rebound, three assists, and one steal in 36 minutes.
Jimmer started for Marcus Thornton (quad), who is out for 1-2 weeks and depending on how things go with the Kings there is at least a chance he continues to start. He would need a few things to break his way, but with the team looking awful and needing to play well to complement the arena effort -- it seems like Jimmer is more a solution than problem. He's graduated from stash to speculative add in 12-team leagues.

Tue Jan 24 201205:36Jimmer hits three treys; scores 13 off bench
Jimmer Fredette hit three 3-point shots on Monday against the Blazers, scoring 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting with one assist, two turnovers, and no other stats to his credit in 21 minutes.
This marks two games in a row with three triples for Fredette, and if you want to stash him with the hopes the Kings decide it's better losing with him than it is with some of their other ballhogs -- we'd understand. With Marcus Thornton (quad) out and Fredette being very inconsistent to date, he's no more than a stash.

Sat Jan 21 201223:35Jimmer lights up for 20 points on Saturday
Jimmer Fredette came to life off the Kings' bench on Saturday, scoring a career-high 20 points with three 3-pointers, three rebounds, six assists, one steal and just one turnover in 33 minutes.
Jimmer was balling even before Marcus Thornton left with a stiff thigh, at which point his playing time was virtually uncontested. He made 5-of-13 FGs and 7-of-8 FTs, and if Thornton's injury were serious we'd be urging you to pluck him off the waiver wire. As things stand, however, Thornton is day-to-day and Jimmer remains little more than an intriguing player to watch in fantasyland.

Thu Jan 19 201202:18Jimmer Fredette plays just six minutes
Jimmer Fredette was scoreless in just six minutes on Wednesday, as Isaiah Thomas saw 20 minutes off the Kings bench.
Jimmer may now be the No. 3 point guard behind Thomas and Tyreke Evans (3-of-14 for eight points), and can safely be dropped as long as the rest of his teammates are healthy. Thomas, on the other hand, scored eight tonight and looked good, so just keep an eye on him. Keith Smart is tinkering with the Kings' lineup in order to find a rotation he's comfortable with, and it looks like he prefers Thomas over Jimmer.

Fri Jan 13 201213:18Jimmer Fredette will start again on Friday
Jimmer Fredette will start in place of Marcus Thornton (thigh) once again on Friday.
Fredette has started the last two games, but he's shot a combined 5-of-17 with just 17 points over that span. He's hit three trey balls, but his stock is trending down. If you're holding onto him, feel free to insert him in the starting lineup again on Friday, but owners shouldn't be expecting any sort of miracles.

Tue Jan 10 201222:48Jimmer struggles in start for Thornton
Jimmer Fredette started in place of Marcus Thornton, who was out with a hamstring injury Tuesday, but hit just 2-of-7 shots for seven points, two rebounds and three assists.
Thornton is day to day with his injury and Jimmer's stock is trending down, despite tonight's random start.

Tue Jan 10 201217:57Jimmer Fredette to start for Kings on Tuesday
Jimmer Fredette will start in place of Marcus Thornton (thigh contusion) on Tuesday.
Fredette's name has meant more than his game for fantasy owners in the early part of the season. He's averaging just 8.6 points and 2.4 assists in 24 minutes of playing time. He's struggled hitting the long ball as he's averaging just 29.7 percent of his shots from deep, but Fredette has a chance to put up a much better effort for owners tonight with Thornton out.

Fri Jan 6 201202:44Fredette scores seven points off the bench
Jimmer Fredette scored seven points off the bench in the Kings' comeback win on Thursday, hitting 3-of-8 shots from the field (including a three) with two rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes.
The result isn't good tonight but the situation is, even as it becomes clear that he will take a back seat for now in a potentially revitalized Kings offense. Under new coach Keith Smart the Kings are going to try to run, and Jimmer will be a big part of that down the road. He's not worth an add in 12-team leagues just yet, but he will be by the end of the year.

Thu Jan 5 201219:39Kings give Keith Smart a two-year deal
The Kings signed new coach Keith Smart to a two-year deal on Thursday.
The Kings situation isn't getting any better until they balance the shooters and sticky-finger guys with the ball-movers and defenders. The players may play better for Smart out of spite for Westphal, but that will only take them so far. Smart had a roster built to improve in Golden State, but ultimately couldn't motivate a much more professional group. We like Smart on the whole though, so hopefully he can fix the mess.

Thu Jan 5 201201:09Jimmer goes quiet after big night on Tue
Jimmer Fredette hit just 3-of-13 shots (including a three) on Wednesday against the Nuggets, scoring seven points with three rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 27 minutes.
Jimmer played with his head in the clouds for much of the night, and will likely be inconsistent unless he moves into a starting role. With how bad the Kings are right now, that's not out of the question and owners should be ready to move the first time we see smoke signals in Sacto.

Tue Jan 3 201223:10Jimmer scores career-high 17 points
Jimmer Fredette played a team-high 29 minutes off the Kings bench and responded with a career-high 17 points and four 3-pointers on 6-of-12 shooting.
The Kings looked terrible again tonight and Paul Westphal cleared the bench in the second half. Marcus Thornton, Tyreke Evans and John Salmons were all bad tonight, and Jimmer took advantage of the opportunity. Given the fact that several Kings' starters act like they don't even want to be there at times, Fredette could be ready to get a boost in minutes. He's not a must-own player after scoring just seven points in each of his last two games, but is someone who could be ready to go on a tear.

Fri Dec 30 201103:23Fredette scores 14 points off the bench
Jimmer Fredette scored 14 points off the bench on Thursday, hitting 5-of-10 shots from the field (including two threes) with one rebound and three assists.
Jimmer is getting encouraged to shoot and if you need threes it's time to pick him up. He'll need to produce a bit more before he should be grabbed for broader value, but owners will want to watch how things progress in Sacto.

Wed Dec 28 201101:57Jimmer scores 10 points off the bench
Jimmer Fredette scored 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting (1-of-5 from downtown) with one rebound and two assists in 24 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's loss.
Jimmer is still finding his way, and with Paul Westphal reportedly happy with the rotation as it stands we're expecting mediocre numbers in the short-term. He may have some use as a 3-point specialist soon, and once he starts canning threes on a nightly basis he'll be worth an add for his upside.

Tue Dec 27 201103:35Jimmer quiet in debut against the Lakers
Jimmer Fredette scored six points on 3-of-8 shooting with one rebound and three assists in 25 minutes off the bench on Monday.
The strangest part is that he didn't attempt a single 3-point shot, but don't expect that to continue. While owners won't like the result, they should be ecstatic to see him get such heavy run. Part of that could have been for business reasons on opening night as Jimmer is one of the main elements of their arena push (no joke), but it's more than likely a sign of things to come. The kid can play and he's worth a stash, but is not a must-own player.

Thu Dec 22 201107:07Westphal impressed with Jimmer Fredette
Paul Westphal has been impressed with Jimmer Fredette.
"(Fredette) can be a weapon whether he's scoring or not because they're defending him in a way that opens it up for other people," said Westphal. He's going to have a role on this team and it could certainly grow as the season goes on, but he's not worth more than a flier at the back end of your draft at this juncture.

Wed Dec 21 201102:31Jimmer Fredette plays well Tuesday
Jimmer Fredette had 12 points, three rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers Tuesday.
That's a pretty good line considering Tyreke Evans and Marcus Thornton both went off. We're not sold on Jimmer being a must-own player this season, but take a flier on him in deep leagues and keep a close eye on him out of the gate.

Sun Dec 18 201100:55Jimmer Fredette starts, scores 21 pts
Jimmer Fredette led the Warriors with 21 points in Saturday's exhibition, making 7-of-11 FGs and 4-of-6 threes, with four rebounds, four assists and one steal.
The Kings were without three starters for the game, DeMarcus Cousins, Chuck Hayes and John Salmons, and Fredette started alongside Marcus Thornton and Tyreke Evans. He shot extremely well and looked comfortable in the Kings' offense, and if he can handle starting PG duties he could emerge as a fantasy asset. At the very least he should be a reliable source of 3-pointers.
