Wed Jun 26 201315:46Report: Kings not discussing Fredette trades
Despite reports to the contrary, USA Today's Sam Amick reports the Kings have had no discussions with teams about trading Jimmer Fredette.
Fredette was rumored to be available for a mid-to-late first-round pick Tuesday. Amick reports the Kings' new management team is willing to discuss trades involving anyone on the roster, but he is not being shopped at this point and has not been brought up in any discussions.

Tue Jun 25 201315:41Kings offering Fredette for a draft pick?
The Kings are reportedly offering Jimmer Fredette in exchange for a mid-to-late first round pick.
Fredette was a reach as the No. 10 overall pick in 2011. His lack of playmaking skills and size has been exposed, leading to just 7.4 points and 1.5 assists in 16.2 minutes through two NBA seasons. The Kings would be stealing if they got a first-round pick for Jimmer, even in this weak draft.

Fri Apr 12 201309:14Jimmer Fredette feels he's making progress
Jimmer Fredette feels he's "progressing as a basketball player."
It's a pretty interesting comment and there will be several who disagree with him, but it won't do anything to improve his outlook while he's still on the Kings. He's not capable of running an offense and has trouble scoring on opponents with a size advantage, so he's got a ways to go to make a real impact.

Wed Feb 27 201323:12Jimmer Fredette scores 13 with three treys
Jimmer Fredette came off the bench for 13 points, four assists, two steals and three 3-pointers on 5-of-9 shooting in 27 minutes on Wednesday.
Jimmer played nine or fewer minutes in his three previous games and didn't even get off the bench on Tuesday. Isaiah Thomas was inexplicably benched in the blowout, so we doubt this is a sign that the changing of the guard is happening in Sacramento, but if Thomas doesn't play the majority of point guard minutes on Friday, we'll change our tune. Aaron Brooks is fully out of the rotation, and didn't even play tonight.

Wed Jan 23 201308:40Jimmer Fredette now out of the rotation
Jimmer Fredette has been a DNP-Coach's Decision in each of his last two games.
"Unfortunately, sometimes a guy that may be playing well or (his) numbers may be looking well, but overall the situations that particular game might dictate something (different)," said Keith Smart. Fredette is behind Isaiah Thomas and Aaron Brooks at point guard as well as behind both Tyreke Evans and Marcus Thornton at shooting guard.

Tue Jan 8 201308:42Report: Jimmer Fredette not on trade block
The Kings are not making Jimmer Fredette available in trade talks, according to USA Today.
USA Today also reports that the Kings continue to tell any interested teams that DeMarcus Cousins is going nowhere. Fredette is averaging 7.9 points on 41.8 percent shooting this season in 14.5 minutes per game.

Sat Jan 5 201301:12Jimmer plays 15 minutes vs. Raptors
Jimmer Fredette played 15 minutes on Friday, scoring four points on 1-of-3 shooting.
Jimmer's only make was a three and besides a trio of turnovers, he was torched relentlessly while Keith Smart decided to pair him with Aaron Brooks' non-existent defense. We'll let you know when it looks like Smart is willing to play Fredette 20-24 mpg consistently.

Tue Jan 1 201322:30Jimmer Fredette scores 14 points in 24 min.
Jimmer Fredette played 24 minutes and had 14 points, three 3-pointers and one assist in Tuesday's loss.
Jimmer's averaging more than 10 points, three assists and nearly two 3-pointers over his past five games, making him worth a deep-league look.

Mon Dec 31 201200:06Jimmer Fredette stepping into bigger role?
Jimmer Fredette scored 10 points and handed out five assists on Sunday, and his role could increase if Marcus Thornton (ankle) misses any games.
Thornton couldn't put weight on his ankle and there is no guarantee he can fly with the team for games in Detroit (Tuesday) and Cleveland (Wednesday). With Tyreke Evans' return also up in the air, Jimmer makes a very intriguing pickup for the Kings' upcoming four-game week.

Sat Dec 29 201204:41Fredette scores 15 points against Knicks
Jimmer Fredette scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting (including three treys) with two rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 19 minutes on Friday against the Knicks.
Jimmer might have the greenest light of anybody in the NBA and while that doesn't always yield the type of offense you would typically want, he is doing his part to make plays within that context. Unfortunately he can't guard either guard position and he shies away from contact, meaning his contributions are limited to the offensive perimeter. Throw in the Kings' love for playing underachieving veterans and the Jimmer's upside is hanging in limbo. Just keep an eye in case they let him loose, as he shoots well enough to shoot up the charts.

Sat Dec 22 201203:16Fredette scores 16 points off the bench
Jimmer Fredette scored 16 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 4-of-10 shots (2-of-3 3PTs, 6-of-7 FTs) with two assists and three steals in 23 minutes.
Jimmer has been performing at a 12-14 team level over the past two weeks, but much of that time has been without Tyreke Evans and Marcus Thornton off the court. The Kings have pounded the idea of shooting into Jimmer's head so well that he shoots just about every time he gets the ball, which is a great development for his fantasy value. As one of the league's best shooters from deep and the line, not to mention plenty of financial reasons for the Kings to play him, he has plenty of fantasy upside. He just needs a game-changing injury or trade scenario and he'll be must-start player in no time. Whether or not that equates to being a stash while he surfs through DNPs and the like is up to you.

Thu Dec 20 201202:11Jimmer Fredette scores 15 in 15 minutes
Jimmer Fredette, coming off a career-high 22 points on Monday, scored 15 points in just 15 minutes on Wednesday.
He hit 3-of-7 shots, a 3-pointer and all eight of his free throws tonight, and while his recent production is intriguing, 15 minutes just isn't going to get it done on most nights. It's also worth noting that Tyreke Evans was out again tonight.

Tue Dec 18 201201:14Jimmer scores career-high 22 points vs. Suns
Jimmer Fredette scored a career-high 22 points in Monday's slop-fest against the Suns, hitting 7-of-13 shots (including three treys) with three rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes.
In the weird Geoff Petrie/Keith Smart braintrust they want him on the court to sell tickets and merchandise, but they can't get enough of Aaron Brooks and the players will riot if Isaiah Thomas isn't kept in the mix so you get sporadic nights like this. Keep in mind that the Suns played defense with the ferocity of a sea lion bathing at the beach, and that Jimmer shot every time he got the ball. Jimmer night is Sunday at Sleep Train Arena, so if you want to take a flier on all this you've got a target.

Sun Dec 9 201202:37Jimmer Fredette gets a sudden DNP-CD
Jimmer Fredette was handed a DNP-CD on Saturday.
The Kings won against a road-weary, injured Blazers team, and we're just hoping that a three-game win streak doesn't go to Keith Smart's head. Jimmer played well enough on Friday and his benching highlights one more reason to avoid him in fantasy leagues. Aaron Brooks had 14 points in 30 minutes on Saturday, but had three assists vs. four turnovers, while Isaiah Thomas had five points, two assists and three turnovers in 18 minutes. It's a situation to avoid.

Sat Dec 8 201204:45Jimmer scores 15 points with four rebounds
Jimmer Fredette scored 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds and one assist in 21 minutes off the bench on Friday against the Magic.
Fredette gets torched on defense nightly and his offense has often come in garbage time against disinterested bench opposition. But he has certainly improved on offense and he's on the shortlist of Kings that actually understand how to play the game. The Kings marketing staff recently created a Jimmer ticket package and there are rumors that he has been given minutes for marketing purposes, which isn't a surprise. He's still on the wrong side of Keith Smart's ridiculous rotations, but the financial and media push to get Jimmer in the game is a full court press.

Sat Dec 1 201201:27Fredette scores 12 points against the Pacers
Jimmer Fredette scored 12 points off the bench on Friday against the Pacers, hitting 5-of-10 shots (including a three) with three assists in 18 minutes.
Fredette gave up as many points through defensive lapses and turnovers as he scored, but the Sacramento media's fawning and the Kings' desire to sell tickets are real factors here. That doesn't mean he won't be subject to random DNP-CD's -- just that he'll get every opportunity to showcase himself and then some.

Sat Nov 17 201204:55Fredette plays seven minutes on Friday
Jimmer Fredette scored two points in seven minutes on Friday.
We weren't buying his low-end performance from Tuesday, and even with changes coming in Sacramento we're going to wait-and-see how things go before recommending any fantasy attention.

Wed Nov 14 201200:43Jimmer Fredette scores 13 in loss
Jimmer Fredette hit 5-of-12 shots and zero 3-pointers on his way to 13 points, six assists and a steal on Tuesday.
He saw a bunch of extra minutes (25 total) with Isaiah Thomas (personal) and Aaron Brooks (foot/ankle) out, but still didn't make much of a fantasy impact. And once Thomas and Brooks are back, his outlook isn't going to get any better.

Sun Nov 11 201213:14Kings unsure if Jimmer is PG or combo guard
The Kings are still uncertain whether to use Jimmer Fredette as a backup PG or a combo guard, and GM Geoff Petrie stressed the need for "patience and time."
Jimmer is averaging 5.0 points in seven minutes per game off the Kings bench. "I'm torn up because this young man is doing everything he can and [he's] not able to get on the floor," said Keith Smart. "His efficiency ratings are starting to move up when he's on the floor and he's been a positive. So I've got to try to get him on the floor more." Smart's lip service is fine, but we're not moving the needle until his minutes increase.

Sat Nov 3 201222:35Jimmer Fredette doesn't leave bench vs. IND
Jimmer Fredette picked up a DNP-CD in Saturday's double-OT loss in Indiana.
Keith Smart played Jimmer six seconds in the season opener, 15 minutes against the Wolves on Friday, and decided to bench him vs. the Pacers. Tyreke Evans is locked in at SG, and this is obviously a situation fantasy owners should avoid.
